Worst Disney Experience

That's because you have this trait called common courtesy that seems to be oh so lacking these days. :)

I'm 6'5" myself and unless we are sitting for a parade I feel like an idiot if I don't move to the back of a crowd so others can see. I leave my family at the front since they are no taller than 5'2" but I am tall enough to see over most people so I get to the back. I'd be embarrassed if I stood in front of someone like that.

So just because someone is tall that means they should always stand in the back. Almost sounds like a racist remark to me.

It sounds more to me like people who want to drive 5 MPH below the speed limit should not drive in the far left hand lane. :)

If you want a good spot to view the parades, then you should show up in time to grab a spot and not make those that prepare apologize for your ineptness.

We were at the Magic Kingdom two weeks ago for MNSSHP and waiting to watch the Villain's Mix and Mingle. A lot of people where sitting down and we joined them near the back. As the show began a man over six foot tall moves over to the center area to watch, standing beside his five foot nothing wife, blocking the view of everyone. A lady kindly asked him ti duck down and he replied loudly "if the kids want to see then they can stand up!" really!?!?! Apparently he didn't get his sprinkle of pixie dust. Everyone moved to the left or right. After the show people were commently loudly toward him and he looked at them with a scow on his face. He did get hit in the back with a Now and Later. Totally undisney like rude dude!

Something similar. This didn't happen to me but I watched and thought the guy was just a rude jerk. We were standing behind the crowd near Norway waithing to watch the fireworks. I have seen the show several times so I am content to stand in the back. There were several people (mostley children) sittng up along the fence in front of me and everyone had a good view. However, when the show started, one rather large guy who had a great seat right next to the fence had to stand up and film the show blocking everyone's view. I wished I had a video camera to film this guy and then put it on Youtube with the caption "The Worlds Biggest Jerk."

You should rent a vehicle. We do every trip. We went with friends one year and they always, always got back to the rooms far later than we did when they rode the buses.

I had my first and only issue with a CM on our trip from last week.

My wife who has been to WDW 6 times prior had never seen Beauty and the Beast Live show in DHS due to a variety of reason. She has always gone Christmas time so there was generally a xmas show there. Anyways, my kids and I decided to surprise her and planned on Sunday to go to the 5:45 showing.

We did Star Tours @ 5 with a 10 minute wait (thinking we had plenty of time) but it turned out MUCH longer so we ended up getting off ST @ 5:40. My wife as waiting for us since she doesn't do ST so I said "let's go" and started walking. We walked very quickly to get there and as we approached my kids and I had to use the restroom badly. We told her her surprise which made her very happy and said to go in and save 3 seats and we would be right there since we used the bathrooms next to ToT.

When we headed up the ramp they had it roped off as it was @ capacity. I told the CM that my wife was in there and saving seats as we had to use the restrooms. She said, "sorry, it's full. You can't go in." I said to her that we had seats saved and she said it doesn't matter unless we had "blue cards" to get back in and basically called me a liar cuz she said "they hear that all the time". I even showed her the text my wife sent telling us where she was. This CM was the biggest bi&ch I have ever dealt with and basically told me I was S-O-L. I texted my wife telling her what was going on and she came down towards us. The witch of a CM and another moron CM who now was doing nothing to help saw her and didn't say a damn thing. They STILL would not let us go in. I NEVER lose my temper in public or cause a scene so when I went up one side of her and down the other, my kids were shocked. She never apologized or offered a solution and was just being an outright bi&ch.

I abruptly walked to Guest Services and they also did absolutely nothing other than offer us VIP seating to one of the shows on the Friday we were going to be there. The guy there barely offered an apology as well.

I was livid and angry for the better part of an hour after. I have never had any experience like this in WDW in the 4 times I've been there nor had my wife in her 7 times. I've only had a couple of mediocre experiences with CMs in the past and this trip so this was infuriating as I wasn't even asking for anything special........just to get in and watch the show with my wife.

We didnt use the VIP on Friday as we went to an earlier show that suited our schedule better but did get to have my wife see the show.

No offense, but Disney didn't owe you anything, this was entirely your fault. Getting in line for a ride @ 5 and hoping to make it to a 5:45 show is rather absurd. That's like trying to find a front row seat to an 8:00 parade at 7:55 on a Friday.

My worst experience happened waiting for the bus heading back to the resorts. As you all know, scooter people and families with strollers have first dibs to get on the bus.

This one dude on a scooter, you could tell was scamming his insurance company, was trying to drive his scooter up the ramp an onto the bus. After a few times and having zero luck getting in, he yelled out "F*ck it!" and picked up his scooter and walked onto the bus.

Since when do people with strollers get to go on first? I thought they had to wait in the normal line with everyone else.

My worst WDW experience was not guest or CM related. A few years back, I volunteered to keep my youngest son while everyone else went to ride Splash Mountain, since he was not tall enough to ride (as an aside, he will be tall enough for the first time when were at the Magic Kingdom in 26 days!!! YAY!!!). So, after the whole crew (wife, two older kids, my father and my wife's mother) left to queue up, I went over to the smoking area right there by Splash/BTMRR and had a quick burn. Then I decided that we would walk around the Briar Patch and browse while we waited for everyone to finish riding. So, I walked over there and parked the stroller and went to unstrap my son from the seat and it was then that the smell just took my breath away. My little guy was just swimming in feces. It was everywhere. It must have been an inch deep in the stroller. So, I hurriedly ran over to the POC bathrooms, totally forgetting that there were bathrooms right where I was located, and locked myself in the family restroom for probably a good half-hour while I cleaned him up. I needed a good tub to plunk him down in to wash him and he wouldn't fit in the sink (I tried). Meanwhile, everyone's done with Splash and my wife is calling me to find where we're located and I'm not answering the phone because I'm up to my elbows in feces, so she's freaking out. It was a fiasco from the get-go and one Disney memory I will never, ever forget.

My worst moment at Disney would have to be when my younger brother got sick and we had to stay in the Disney nurses station all day. I remember watching Wishes by myself by the Crystal Palace and wanting my Dad and brother to be out here. (I think my Dad stepped out to watch for a little while). I felt bad for my brother but I also wanted to go out and have fun. The next day instead of going to the parks, we had to go find a pediatric, who diagnosed him with an ear infection.

I think the experiences on the buses in the evening are not good--it is not Disney`s fault but rather other guests who may let their kids sit on seats when they could go on their laps!! Also teens sitting down instead of offering up their seats. I am thankful my three sons in their late twenties always offer their seats--it doesn`t take much to think of others!!!:ROFLOL:

I don't think i've ever had too bad of an experience with a cm or other guest, but i did see someone attempt to fight a bus driver after Epcot closed and we were all just wanting to get to the hotel. Unfortunately some d**khead had to get mad because he had to wait for the next bus. People need to learn that patience is a virtue.

We were trying to enter the MK and my sister's ticket didn't work. We had been having this problem all trip, and the CMs always checked our room keys and let us in to go to Guest Services. When we tried to explain it to the CM, he said that he wouldn't let her in without identification. She was 14 at the time, and she didn't have any identification. He said she would have to wait while we went in without her. My mother showed him her room key, her driver's license, and my sister's room key. The CM started yelling at my sister and telling her that she was putting her thumb on the scanner wrong and it was her fault her ticket didn't work. This was all while the opening ceremony was going on, which we had gotten there early to see. Another CM came over, looked at our room keys, and let my sister in through a gate. She apologized and escorted us to Guest Services and made sure we got a new ticket for my sister that worked. My mother was livid and complained. Not the best way to start a day at MK.

I agree. I do get angry when CMs won't bend the rules for us on something like this, but I'm really just mad at myself. The CM's were just following rules, can't fault them for that. I think people think that since Disney is so committed to guest experience, they will get to do whatever they want. But we have to think about the fact that Disney does have rules and standards, and if you follow them you will have a better trip.

My worst experience was our fault. Not Disneys. In 2007 I went with my parents, brother and my girlfriend at the time. I've been on a Disney holiday 5 times now so I know my way around pretty well and come from the UK so I don't get chance to go often enough. But this time, we all went to Magic Kingdom for the day for the first time on the holiday. Towards the end of the day, we wanted to see the Fireworks so me, my GF and brother went to Splash Mountain to save a space while my parents grabbed some food at Caseys. We arranged to meet there for the display, but my parents never showed at Splash Mountain and they had given me the bag with our phones, wallets, keys etc! We had no way of contacting them. We watched the display thinking they'd meet us after as there was a lot of people around, so we waited at the same spot for a good 30mins. Still no sign of them! An hour after the display, the park was emptying up so we went to Guest services after practically walking around the park to find them. They were really helpful. But it still didn't make them show up. I tried ringing them until I realised I had their phones. So we hung around at the front hoping they'd walk past us. They didn't. We thought they may have got our coach back to our hotel but didn't want to risk going that way in case they didn't let us back in. So we were stuck in the park until everyone left, and a really nice guy escorted us 3 around the park at about midnight when it was deserted. Still no sign so they had been missing for about 3 hours. So we had no choice but to get on the last Monorail and hope they were at the other side. Because they had no money to get a cab back to I-Drive so if we had just gone back to the hotel, they would have been stuck at Disney with no money and no phones. We couldn't assume they had got on our hotel coach!

Luckily we got to the ticket and transportation centre and they were at a ticket booth chatting to someone. Lets just say they weren't all cuddly when we saw them. It turned out they had gone to Splash Mountain, but we weren't there as we were on the little boardwalk in front of the drop so they didn't see us, and ended up walking around the park looking for us. Very much a wild goose chase, but not many people can say they get a guided tour of MK after hours for free!

Perhaps I didn't convey what it was that bothered me and I do not in any way feel I was owed anything other than general courtesy and perhaps and apology by Guest Services. What bothered me was the attitude the CM gave me and the obnoxious way in which she acted. She was downright rude and nasty. We were absolutely at fault for not getting there early but should not have been treated in the way we were.
