World Showcase Uniforms??

Seems leik WS CM's will be getting a generic outfit? Hope not. Have any of you heard news or rumors on this?

This is ridiculos WDW is getting less magical with each day that passes. The WS is supposed to show the diversity in the world, and making everyone dress the same kills diversity. Why the WS, if you want to make cuts make universal uniforsm for CM's in AK,MK,or DHS, there would be a much less effect on the atmoshphere. I really, really doubt that anything like this is happening. In the past year, several new World Showcase costumes have been created, and a few others modified. Also, the costumes are an integral part of the WS stories. If WDW wanted to continue to cut costuming costs, there are many other places where costumes could be consolidated on a larger and less-intrusive scale. I think this is utter nonsense.

If I'm not mistaken, Mitsukoshi's costumes are relatively new, and new costumes were rolled out for Mexico foodservice somewhat recently (and shared with Coronado Springs). I believe alterations were also recently made for American Adventure foodservice. There are also a few new costume changes forthcoming for other areas besides WS.

I would highly doubt that this would happen. It just doesn't make sense, and like someone else said...consolidation can happen easier in other places.

Does anyone remember the short-lived program of having FastPasses distributed and managed by a separate group of CMs? They wore generic costumes and looked pretty horrible in themed environments like Tower of Terror standing next to the bellhops in full ToT costume.
Thankfully this was a very short-lived program...

Perhaps the rumor has something to do with the Food & Wine Festival? They add a ton of extra stands around World Showcase. What costumes do those CMs wear? (It's been a while since I've been there for F&WF) Maybe they're consolidating those CMs costumes so that they can re-deploy CMs more easily.

There's the generic white pants and shirts with all of the flags all over. I think they are used for some of the other places near WS as well during the rest of the year.

The booths that also had countries seemed to wear the costume of the country. I know that some of the staff at the Canada booth had on red flannel, and the staff at the Mexico booth had on more traditional Mexican type clothes. But the other booths definitely had the flag shirts.

Agree Disney has been making some bad decisions and cuts that hurt the magic.
But this would be "SO BEYOND STUPID" that I refuse to give it another moments thought.

Well if they keep puting off new attraction, raising prices, and doing a half A## revamp of UOE, hmm sure I could see it happening.
