World Showcase Uniforms??

Well if they keep puting off new attraction, raising prices, and doing a half A## revamp of UOE, hmm sure I could see it happening.

Why are any of those related to new uniforms?

They seem to be scaling back and with the billion $$ they are sinking in to DCA they are going to cut back where they can. I don't want it to happen nor do I think it will happen. All I'm am saying is that I can see it happening.

I guess I just don't really understand why anybody is putting any stock at all in this rumor?

It doesn't make any sense at all.

Aside from the obvious that doing this would destroy the story of World Showcase, Disney has recently issued new costumes to several areas.

Aside from all that, how on Earth would a universal World Showcase costume save Disney a dime?

If somebody can explain that to me, they get a cookie.

If anything, doing so would cost Disney money.

When we went the other day, we saw new costumes of a red polo with a patch that said EPCOT with flags on it. I didnt see anyone wearing the old Flag "Hawaiian" shirts, but didnt walk all the way around the lagoon. Maybe these new non-country specific costumes are the source of the rumor.

I would highly doubt that this would happen. It just doesn't make sense, and like someone else said...consolidation can happen easier in other places.

Agree Disney has been making some bad decisions and cuts that hurt the magic.
But this would be "SO BEYOND STUPID" that I refuse to give it another moments thought.

The booths that also had countries seemed to wear the costume of the country. I know that some of the staff at the Canada booth had on red flannel, and the staff at the Mexico booth had on more traditional Mexican type clothes. But the other booths definitely had the flag shirts.

Its one of our visa requirements that we MUST wear our Country's national costume and a nametag stating we are from that country. So those cast members were on the Cultural Rep Program. They are very strict on this, I cant see them changing to a generic costume, they would probably have to get visa restrictions changed too:shrug:

I work in costuming at Epcot, where everyone who works in WOrld Showcase gets their costume, & this is the first I've heard of this. My guess is because of the flower & garden festival, there have been more of the "generic" special even costumes in the park the past few weeks.
