When me and my family have been to world showcase we have not had a proper good look round world showcase(Disney can be overwhelming!) and i just wondered if some of the rides (Such as maelstrom and The boat ride in the mexican pavillion) were worth it?

Opinions please :) xxx

I think maelstrom and mexican boat ride is worth it yeah, i think they're quite good, but they're not the best you could be spending your time somewhere better, but try and do the boat ride.

Of course it's worth it!

WS is one of the most immersive and entertaining environments Disney has ever created!

You have 11 countries all within walking distance,2 great boat rides,a FANTASTIC AA show, and several amazing circlevision 360 movies.Along with that comes IllumiNations, one of the most amazing firework/laser/light/water shows ever.

And don't forget the food!:D:slurp:

Most definitely, World Showcase is worth it. Once again EPCOT Explorer, you state it well. :)

But girlface, do go to World Showcase, and do take the time to wander in and around the pavilions. Also, see the shows, go on the boat rides, and most of all, stay there through the evening and watch IllumiNations. As the sun sets and night falls, I think WS becomes one of the most beautiful and magical places anywhere on property. Enjoy it.

YES!!!

I have probably spent more time in WS than any other part of Disney! AT LEAST one day is needed to see WS enough. The American Adventure is one the best shows at WDW, Maelstrom and GFTStTC are both worth doing at least once, along with all the films. Not to mention every country is worth spending at least a few minutes wandering the shops or getting a bite to eat. Also, it's probably one of the best places to just sit and take in the atmosphere of being at WDW.

And don't even get me started on IllumiNations! :zipit:

The rides are great classic Disney Dark rides. And there is usually no wait.

It's great!(And they are really close to FW if you are worried about what Walt called "Museum Feet");)

world showcase could/ should be a park by itself.its brilliant, very immersive great to sample the countries food and traditions. skip the epcot bit and head for world show case.

I think the boat ride in mexico is "more worth it" than Maelstorm simply because of the wait times. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes for the ride in Mexico, but Norway is a different story. I would make a point to go on both at least once though.

IMO I think WS is a whole lot worth seeing and going to. It is my favorite part of Epcot. You can't beat the atmosphere, food, the scenery, some wonderful pictures you can capture. The 2 boat rides are my faves! I can walk around the entire WS and its just so relaxing, I love it. Others may agree and disagree.

You have to remember that some people want RIDES.

When I read "is it worth it?" I suspect the author is a ride person. The answer is "maybe not," if you have taken the long walk around from Canada solely in a quest for exciting rides.

There are no thrilling rides in the World Showcase.

The two in question are on the same side and if you approach them from the left side of Future World as measured from the main park entrance, you can minimize your walk distance. I like both boat rides, but they are relaxing, not thrilling.

"immersive experience" is code talk for "you don't feel like you've wasted your money if you aren't riding one ride after another."

World Showcase was easily my families favorite part of our last trip there. My kids (ages 5 and 10) even loved it. We loved it so much that we spent more time there than anywhere else, usually ending our nights there to take in Illuminations. WS at night is a great place to just kick back and relax.
