Sounds good. I cannot be there (as I will be on a construction mission trip with my church youth group that I lead), but I thought some of you might be able to take advantage of it...

For the first time, we will actually be in WDW during one of these sales. But, I don't think I want to get up at the crack of dawn to get to DTD by 5 am. I've heard that people line up very early to get the "doorbuster" items. Does anyone think it is worth getting up so early? On vacation, no less?

Great question. I'll be down there too, but this would be my last day. I'm looking for select Toy Story items and wouldn't mind getting the discounts, but I don't think I want to get up that early just to find out I was actually late, and on my last day.

I have been there once before during a sale and it was somewhat crazy, but not as bad as black Friday sales. So if you want to get some very good deals on Toy Story toys then you should get there early because trust me it is worth it.

We're staying at the Yacht Club and this would be our last day too. I'd like to give it a try to see if they have any great deals on things we would like...but I am going to play it by ear. If I feel up to it I'll get up and go. If not, well, no big deal.

Thanks  I may check it out. Only problem I see is that the toy story toys I'm looking for are already expensive, and a part of me assumes they would be a bit more pricey at the parks. I don't know why, possibly an extra "WDW" type thing to add an extra $10. But anyway, I'd hate to get there for a discount just to find out it would be the same price had I bought it from Target at home  But if I really go, I'd probably check days before hand to see if they sell the toys I'm looking for and see what their prices are before the discount and decide then.

Thanks for the heads up.

Wow, you'd have to be nuts to do that.

For those who have been before, is there any way to find out in advance just what merchandise is part of the sale? Also, since it says "select merch. up to 50% off" do the sales vary from say 10-50% off??? I'm not sure I want to waste my last day getting up early, then get there and only have a few items on sale, and not many at 50%. Thanks for any input.

 That was a lovely comment, thanks. :) Try telling that to the hundreds of people who will be in line starting at 4 am or earlier. I will most likely not be among them. There is nothing I would want to buy that badly to get me from my bed at Bay Lake Tower to DTD that early.

Not old, just vintage.

Lynn and I did the December passholder sale. We arrived at DTD at 5am and we missed being in the first 1,000 guests group by about 10 people. We did get a lot of stuff very cheap but it was a total zoo. Travel mugs for $4, $5-$10 shirts, cheap stuffed critters, 50% off plates and cups, etc. Not nearly enough registers for checkout either. It took us over an hour just to buy our stuff. If I did it again I would get on the checkout line while Lynn shopped. Then I'd go shopping while she held the place in line. It definitely requires a 2 person approach. It was something we wanted to be able to say we did.

I've been thinking of going as well, but like others have said if not everything is on sale I'm not sure I want to get up that early and brave the masses. I usually spend my money on clothing and jewelry. For any of you who have gone before do you recall these items being among those on sale??

I wish they would do something like this at the Art of Disney store, I'd be all over that sale! :)

I arrived around 6:30 Saturday morning and there was a fairly long line of people waiting to get in. It looked like new guests were allowed to enter World of Disney only as prior guests were exiting. Based on the length of the line, I thought it could take a while so I went back home. I would be interested in finding out what I missed out on, if anything.
