World Of Color Refurbishment

Utterly preposterous! The World of Color show control room is virtually unsinkable!

Thats 5 compartments! World of Color can stay afloat with the first 4 compartments breached but not 5! As she goes down by the head, the water will spill over the tops of the bulkheads at E-Deck at one to the next back to back theres not stopping it.

Disneyland site says late 2018 now...

Hearing they may need to drain lagoon.

hopefully someone decides that Incrediscoaster needs to run in the evening during WOC and they take the time during the drained lagoon to add more rockwork in the launch area to reduce scream levels. Some nice new rockwork would also block the view of the track system and enhance the shoreline.

If there was something i liked about the original Paradise Pier concept art that never made it to construction, it was the much more lush green coastline in that area.

Disney should use this tragedy as an opportunity to plus the show. A major downside of World of Color is the lack of any physical props or performers.

Disney should find a way to integrate floats, similar to these:

The show could start with a clear focus on Mickey played over a score developed for the show, something that's epic and exciting. It could then transition into a typical World of color performance, but with physical performers scattered throughout. Little Mermaid, Tangled, Frozen, Pirates of the Caribbean, and just about any Disney property could be utilized as a show segment.

The second half of the show should focus on the villains. Ursula, Maleficent, and the Evil Queen from Snow White would do especially well here. The climax of the show could be a showdown between Sorcerer Mickey and Maleficent in Dragon form. It could look something like this:

The finale could be a massive boat that carries all our favorite Disney characters, immediately followed up by Sorcerer Mickey at the height of his prowess.

And as long as they're improving shows at the Disneyland resort, they could use this as an opportunity to fix the smut that currently plays across the plaza. This change would be far simpler, they could restore the original '92 soundtrack and mist projections, but take advantage of the new projections and other enhancements the show saw. This change would also allow them to utilize costumes currently seen in Fantasmic! in this new World of Color.

They'd have to rename World of Color though to direct the focus away from an ancient TV show, increasing the appeal for a younger, modern Disney crowd. Names like Imagination or Fantasmic!! would work especially well in this scenario.

I'm not really sure I understand the joke. The only smut in this equation is Tokyo's Fantasmic. It's not that good.

Is there any chance they could bring back the chernabog fountain and put the chernabog scene back into the show?
Doubt it. The issue with it was that it was only viewable from certain spots, and everyone else just saw a weird blob and couldn’t tell what it was.
But anyway I doubt they will be adding anything new (or resurrecting anything old) until they fix the big issue at hand

That sounds a lot like a copy of Fantasmic, Its already bad enough that they copied the night on Blad mountain scene. I chatted with Steve Davidson once about that even hinting on why he didn't instead consider someone like The Horned King and he seemed to be attached to the same movies for every entertainment production. He said The black Cauldron was terrible movie. He is right the movie was not the best but the Horned king would still make a great scene in WOC instead of a rehashed chernabog scene.

what the show needs is not really floats especially since there really isn't room for them. What the show needs is some props. As the show aged several of the unique elements have disappeared.

They seem to like those inflatable manequins that are used on mainstreet, i wonder if they can incorporate some of those in specific locations on the lagoon. They are simple to make and operate and Im sure they can inflate them quick and make them disappear quickly
