Hopefully the major issue is fixed and now it's getting back on track with the fountain refurb and checking programming?

I’ve been watching World of Color construction videos trying to figure out what may have happened, I think these must be the electrical rooms “buried under the lagoon”, technically under the platform but above ground level.
These appear to be where all the conduit running along the bottom of the lagoon end up which would make sense as points to distribute all the electrical power and computer signals to the thousands of lights and fountains from a central location rather than from the control room on the other side of the lagoon.
If the platform collapsed these would definitely be impacted since they sit directly beneath it. If my assumption is correct they should be able to fix the damage without emptying the lagoon, they may have to lower the level For easier acces but that sounds a lot easier than draining the lagoon to dig under it.

The refurb is not almost finished. There's a reason WOC was left out of the Christmas season press release.

Leaving it drained would be an improvement since the water is so dirty. They could make a skateboard park out of that whole area. Hip and edgy DCA 1.0 style.
But why are the tent on the center of the platform were removed along with the blue fence then?

I was there last month and every cast member I talked to told me that management has been pretty tight-lipped about the whole thing, but that they hear it's not going to open until possibly January 2019.

I spoke to a CM close to WOC who was told it’s very likely they will have to drain the lagoon and rebuild the platform costing millions of dollars. It’s probably not coming back this year.

It’s no coincidence. The construction caused it. My CM friend saw the result. He said he saw water shoot up in the air sort of like an explosion happened below.

I may be unpopular in this opinion, but I didn't like WOC. And I especially didn't like that they had to close Screamin' for the show to go on. If it were up to me, at this point in DCA's timeline i'd use the open area for something like Journey to the Center of the Earth.
