This was my thought. If they are going to build a new resort it's going to probably be more along the lines of a Star Cruiser than a regular themed resort. A regular themed resort doesn't make enough money in Bobbo's eyes.

Of course they do. You take a modern day, Marriott, Hyatt, or Hilton, put some picture art of Venice on the wall, add in some striped poles around the highly themed square pool and gondola floating near by on the lake and TADA..... Disney Venetian Resort is born! Please see the Rivera if you have any doubts in their ability to build world class Disney resorts with unsurpassed story telling.

I think we are being too harsh. If Disney can turn Splash MOUNTAIN into an attraction based in The Louisiana swamps that has no mountains imagine what they can do with a prefabbed hotel kit.

This road project will tear up part of one the courses. Magnolia 16 and 17 will be impacted.

I'd say theres very little chance they mess with the island green where the line is on this. They'll go around it.

These maps aren’t concept art. They are construction documents. They clearly show the road will be cutting directly through the island.

I'd argue that Tomorrowland doesn't have one either. I know it's supposed to be the Contemporary, but there's really no connection there beyond the monorail going through the lobby.

Of course Tomorrowland doesn't really have a consistent theme now, so it would be hard to match a hotel to it. Is it futures studies? Is it retro-futurism? Is it science fiction? Disney doesn't seem to know or care.

Nope, going right through it. I would expect to see another permit at some point to re-configure part of the golf course.

I think that would be a good place for a skyliner from the TTC or the back of the MK parking lot as another way to move people across the lagoon.

Or try this on for size, an X interchange at A1A and I-95.

Those are also being built all over, with the unusual crossover of through traffic. They are a nightmare when you think about them, but if you follow the signs while driving, they work surprisingly well -- the road people call it a Diverging Diamond.

They already filed the permit for modifying the course a few months ago. I think you just missed it.
