Oh she's isolated in her room. She's not allowed to be with us until her test is negative. Well, other than my husband driving her to the test location, but they both have to wear masks and she has to sit in the back.At this point maybe you should all be wearing masks even in the house and try and stay away from each other.
Yep, here too. That's why I called in to work that I can't come, and we'll let A's teachers know he won't be at school tomorrow. Here, if someone in your household has a fever, or if someone in your household is either waiting on results, or has tested positive, you have to quarantine. I technically should probably not have gone to the grocery store this morning, but I didn't know how else to get groceries, and since she doesn't have a "fever", just an elevated temp, it's allowed. And now I know I can get groceries online. When this all started a year ago, they disabled the online order for home delivery feature because they got too many orders and couldn't keep up with demand. But it's back now, so I placed an order for Saturday. So now we're in quarantine until she gets a negative test result. If she tests positive, we all have to get tested, too, and then we have too. If that's negative, we have to wait 5 days and then get tested again. Once everyone has tested negative after at least 5 days, we're good to go again. But we won't starve in the mean time.
Now E says everything tastes weird to her. She did say that last night...things tasted off to her. But she could just be imagining it, I suppose. Kind of like when someone in your kid's class has headlice, you automatically start itching. I guess we'll know in 2 days.
It's too bad about the weather, but from the sounds of it, getting the furnace installed is the priority. And I don't blame you...I won't walk among a crowd either. I hate even going to the grocery store right now.Good morning.
I did my 60 minutes of yoga. I am not sure about this program. I think because the instructors are simultaneously doing the class and giving instructions, it kind of ruins the flow. They usually have a class and they give instruction while walking around and adjusting people. But they can't do that right now, because of covid. So, I think it limits how rigorous these classes can be. They are not bad classes, just different than what I typically expect from these instructors. I also think because the goal is "detox", there is more emphasis on that.
It's supposed to be 72 here today, so I am getting out for a nice walk. My daffodils have really popped this week. It looks like they might open up the next few days.
We were supposed to go to DC tomorrow, but we canceled. The new furnace is getting installed and it takes 5 hours--if all goes well. We didn't want to risk it, so we postponed to next weekend. Unfortunately, the weather is not going to be as nice next weekend, but we'll be nearer to the predicted peak bloom of the cherry blossom trees. They are telling people not to come down to the Tidal Basin. I'd like to get close enough for photos, but not walk along it, if possible. If that's not possible, I'll have to go back next year. Even with a mask, I won't walk among a crowd.
The only reason I don't mind the grocery store is I go at rope drop. It's too bad about the weather, but from the sounds of it, getting the furnace installed is the priority. And I don't blame you...I won't walk among a crowd either. I hate even going to the grocery store right now.
I went this morning at about 8:30 and it was sooooo nice!! Not busy, no stupid people. The only reason I don't mind the grocery store is I go at rope drop.
Poor kid. Tell her my whole family is pulling for her to get well soonI went this morning at about 8:30 and it was sooooo nice!! Not busy, no stupid people.
E now has a fullblown fever. Not high, but it's actually considered a fever now. 38.1C (100.6F) And I was talking to my best friend and I told her all about it, obviously. And I mentioned things tasted funny to E, and she said she has a friend who is a doctor and told her that that's also a symptom...that the symptoms don't affect everyone in the same way. So some people lose their taste all together, but some taste everything as a little bit metalic, or a little bit dusty. E said when she had the chocolate earlier, it tasted like really OLD chocolate, like kind of musty. So it all kind of fits....I really expect she'll have tested positive.
Thanks. She seems like she feels fine....she was all excited because she had a french test tonight (she set it up with the teacher since she wasn't at school) and got a 94%, and I had to remind her to check her temp again. She wouldn't have really even noticed it if I hadn't made her check her temp, other than yesterday afternoon when she felt too warm, so she checked then. But she didn't even tell me she had checked it or that it was high. So I think she feels fine. Things just taste weird. Even her cough is minimal...I've only heard her cough a couple of times, and she sounded a tiny bit stuffy on the phone when she gave her "permission" to set up a test for her, and listed her symptoms, but when the gal asked if she had a stuffy nose, she said no. It wasn't until later that she was like "Oh....I guess I am a LITTLE bit stuffy." It wasn't even noticable to her, which kind of goes along with what they've been saying in the news...that younger people tend to get such mild symptoms that they don't even realize they have it, so they encourage people to get tested even if they only have mild symptoms.Poor kid. Tell her my whole family is pulling for her to get well soon

Yeah, my best friend said she had heard several different things people tasted, but the most common were the metalic taste or the dusty taste. And she said the doctor friend told her that that was because it doesn't affect everyone in the same way. So it's all adding up to me that she most likely will test positive.Oh no! We're hoping for the best for her. Hopefully, everything will be mild and pass quickly. We got sick too early in things to be tested, but it's interesting how you said that chocolate tasted strange to her. When I got whatever Covid-like gunk last February, the first thing I noticed was that my candy bar had a strange taste. To me, it was like the smell of gasoline. Keep us posted.
I hope both your car issue and this softball issue get resolved quickly and to your satisfaction. I'm honestly still agog at the fake suicide thing. That is so twisted and I can't even imagine how upset and anxious your daughter was. Not only that, she was brazen enough to get you involved and do this in your face. She sounds like a Regina George on steroids.

Well, I have to say I am headachy and yesterday I was sooooo tired and felt pretty cruddy right before dinner and my dinner just... It tasted normal to me, but it just didn't taste good at all. But tonight dinner was great. I do feel too warm, so I checked my temp and it's right at the edge of normal. Normal range is 36.5 to 37.5, and I'm at 37.5. If E is positive, I probably already have it. We isolated her too late, but it's hard to really isolate when you all share a bathroom and she still had to eat, etc. She was mostly isolated anyway, except for meal times, but that's probably enough.Hopefully it won't be too bad. We've had several friends have it go through their homes. They all showed symptoms around the same time, so any masking at home wound up being a bit too late, but it's not a bad idea if everyone else still feels good. I've seen that with some people in news stories.
The love is for them buying back your vehicle, not your stress and not feeling motivated. I hope this gives you some peace of mind so you can stop stressing about that at least. Not sure if it's the time change, all of the pollen, the kid stuff, the car stuff or life in general...but I still haven't been motivated to do anything in the gym. I am at least getting plenty of sleep. I'm not oversleeping, but I figure getting proper rest is at least something healthful.
I posted over the auto section, but I found out today that VW is agreeing to repurchase my vehicle. It's not going to happen overnight, but it is going to happen. They are giving me back the value of my trade in, my down payment, and all of my monthly payments. They said that they wouldn't deduct for mileage because the problems started so early in my ownership of the vehicle. So, I'm getting back everything I put into it. I will still need to figure out what I want to replace it.

Good news for this morning...my temp is back down to 36.9. Bad news, my husband has a sore throat and E is coughing quite a bit. Still waiting for the test results.
