working out for Disney

I get most of my groceries delivered. My husband will get some items for himself throughout the week.

The other day, husband said someone was up on him while he was waiting in line to check out the other day. He had to say something to her and she got funny with him. She refused to back away and my husband said he saw a shorter line open up and went to that one instead.

Part of what has ruined cooking for me is supplies are unreliable. I will plan our meals out and when I go online, things are not available, so I have to go back to the drawing board. Sometimes, when I am able to order these items, when the shopper goes to the market they are not there. The weirdest things have been scarce--tofu, broccoli, cheddar cheese, certain types of meats.
It's ridiculous here....when covid started, they shut down the online ordering and delivery system so you HAD to go to the grocery store. You couldn't have your groceries delivered. I have no idea why they did that. Then they updated the app for the grocery store, and my phone won't load it anymore if I'm using wifi. I have to switch to mobile data to open the app to get my grocery list. I kept trying for months and it wouldn't load. I contacted the customer service line and they asked me if I was using wifi or mobile data. When I turned off the wifi, it worked. But it took several months before I could access the app, which is what you would also use to order groceries to be delivered. So I have had to go to the grocery store in person this whole time. Today, even the employees had their masks pulled down. Some guy at the front went to the ATM, took his mask off, wiped his hand across his face and sniffled into his hand and then used the ATM. He wasn't supposed to take his mask off, and he certainly wasn't supposed to wipe his nose and mouth with his hand before touching the ATM buttons. But people are tired of the measures here, so they just aren't following them if no one is enforcing it. We ordered pizza the other night because I am having to work the day shift right now so I'm not even home to cook. I get out of work at 5 and we're home about 5:30, which is when we usually eat. So we ordered pizza to pick up on our way home. (I ordered cauliflower crust with chicken and spinach...trying to at least be somewhat healthy) They didn't even start our order until I walked in to pick up...I had ordered at 9:55 am for a 5:30 pm pick up. I walked in at 5:29 and they hadn't even started, so I had to sit there for 17 minutes while they made our order, and one of the guys in the kitchen kept taking off his mask to talk. If there's no one around to enforce it, people won't do it.

Happy Valentine's Day! 💘

I decided to dig into some of my older workouts for a change of pace today. I haven't done this particular workout in a while, so I will likely be sore tomorrow. :p

I ended up finishing my entire cake yesterday. I shouldn't have, because whenever I don't split up the baking and decorating, it comes out looking horrible. It was kind of cute, but I could have done a better job with frosting. My husband decided to dig in at 11 AM. :hilarious:

I have a banana bread in the oven. I am going to split it and send half of it back with my son. He's going back to his dorm this afternoon.

Has anyone been watching WandaVision? I was sort of watching it. I have absolutely no familiarity with Marvel, so I think a lot of the show is lost on me. I mean, understand it at a surface level, but I know I am missing a lot of references because I have no idea who these people are.
I am not at all into the Marvel franchise...I didn't know WandaVision was Marvel related. I saw it on Disney+, but to be honest, it didn't look like something I'd be interested in...it looked very strange, so I haven't watched it at all. Now that you say it's Marvel, I'm glad I haven't. I've heard a few people say they are loving it.

Wish you were closer. Wegman's now has a steady supply of tofu that was touch and go for a while, broccoli was never in short supply up here, neither was cheddar. Commercial meats can be hit or miss depending on the cut but that's due to problems at the plants;)

I haven't watched it yet but I heard it starts off slow and takes about 3 or 4 episodes to make sense My son says to watch Captain America movies

Keeping my fingers crossed that we stay all snow for tomorrow that way I can finally try out the rebounder. I found a "workout" that's more like walking and think that will be safe but we're expected to get major ice I'll be cooking all morning starting when I crawl out of bed. Happy Valentine's and Galentine's Day

I wouldn't want to burn through data to order groceries, either. That's a waste of data, particularly if you've got access to wifi.

That is so gross about the man using the ATM before you. :depressed: You'd think people would have modified their behavior by now. I guess if they haven't by now they won't. Good grief, what do these people need to get them to behave hygienically?

When I get my hair done, people pull their masks down to talk, too. They do it because it's loud and they are shouting across the room to each other. I swear, when they talk, I can see little coronaviruses coming out of their mouths. No wonder they had a little 'outbreak' in that salon. One of the stylists is pregnant with twins, so you think they'd be careful out of concern for her. But no. But you're right, people will do what they want when nobody is enforcing any of the measures.

It is very bizarre, that's for sure. I usually don't watch much TV, but it's winter and there's a pandemic going on, so I've been watching TV at night. The last episode that was released was a little too much for me, but I guess that's b/c this is a Marvel thing.

From what I've seen, some people do it on purpose, where they would have been more careful even before corona. But some people have gotten to the point where they purposely go against the regulations because they are tired of them and they want to make a statement. They don't seem to realize that the more they feel they have to make a statement, the longer this will be a problem and we will have these regulations. It's BECAUSE people aren't following them that we have to keep it up. It's so frustrating. Sometimes I wish we could just create colonies where those people could go and infect each other and stay in their little bubble and leave the rest of us alone to actually combat the virus. Let them all ignore it together, somewhere else where they can't affect other people except other ignoramouses like themselves.

I've been reading. I read a couple of books on Greek Mythology, then my daughter won this speech competition where the topic was "A story that moved me" and she wrote about this woman who grew up in a cult and when she was 6, her grandfather made a speech in front of the whole community about how they didn't want girls like her, because her teacher said she showed leadership qualities, so I read the book that she wrote. Then I was talking to some friends of mine about it, and one of the girls thought it was Megan Phelps-Roper's book, and said it was really good...so now I'm reading that one. And the last book in a series I've been reading comes out in April, so I'm looking forward to that one. And I'm hoping that the next book in the Outlander series finally comes out this year...it was supposed to be done in 2019 and she's been saying for more than a year that it was "nearly finished" and there's still no publication date. I have also been reading some travel books....I read one on Austria, since we won't be going to Yellowstone this year, but we maybe could do Austria. And now I've got one on Italy going, too. I have been watching Glee with my daughter, and Gilmore Girls. We finished Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World a while back. I guess I don't really need another thing to get into, anyway, so probably don't need to watch anything Marvel.

Hello-

I am in with the same type of workout I did yesterday. I figure I should workout a little longer for now, since I am not getting out for my walks. I am a little sore from yesterday, but nothing that prevents me from doing anything.

We went pick up our dinner yesterday and it wasn't ready. We called when we got there, and they said they'd be right out. So, we waited and waited. Finally my husband went into the restaurant and our order wasn't ready. We waited a half an hour for it, but they gave us a $50 gift card. My husband said there was no social distancing where people wait for their table to be called and this group of women were taking group photos all over the waiting area without masks on. I understand people need to remove their masks to eat, but not while you're waiting for a table in a crowded area. But the dinner was really good. My filet was really tender and it came with a bottle of wine and mini desserts. This restaurant is in a mall--not *in* the mall, but one of those places that's connected to the mall, but has it's own entrance outside. Anyway, it looked like pre-pandemic Christmas shopping, no joke! It was hard to find a parking spot, there were loads of people walking to their cars with lots of shopping. We had to line up for a while, just to get the traffic light to leave! I guess it's good for the economy, but I won't go into a mall right now. In fact, I wouldn't go even if there wasn't a pandemic gong on. I don't like malls. I keep USPS, UPS and FedEx in business with my online shopping. :P

I am eating lighter today after this weekend! I have a chicken chili verde in my crock pot, because I am lazy and it's pretty healthy.

I've been reading, too. I have a Kindle Unlimited subscription, so I've been reading stuff here and there from it. I am also reading a book about introverts called Quiet. I read it years ago, but I thought I'd read it again. I just fall asleep when I start reading! It's not that the book is boring, I think it's because I always read books in bed when I was younger. I think my brain associates the two activities now.

I started watching this Apple series called "For All Mankind." It's about the space race. The series opened up with people around their TVs watching the lunar landing and when the astronaut leaves the capsule, he is speaking Russian. Nixon beat Kennedy in this alternate timeline, so he is the president and he is livid that the Soviets beat us to the Moon. People are worried about a Soviet hegemony, too. It's weird, because the US has female astronauts in this timeline. I am up to point in the show where is it 1974 and Ted Kennedy is president and there are Soviet and US bases on the Moon. It's kind of intriguing, but I feel like there are so many characters and so many story arcs with them.

Hello-

I am in with a one hour workout. I switched gears and started doing bodyweight workouts. I feel like the kettlebells were bulking up my thighs, even though I love working out with them. 😢 😛

It's warmer here today and snow has been melting, so I am hoping to get out for a walk today. I think we're getting another fresh round of snow on Thursday. Ugh.

I hope @HouCuseChickie and her family are ok. I heard they have issues with power down there. I can't imagine being in such low temps without power. ( I know they went away, hopefully they are still there, instead of dealing with that weather.)

We got home just after midnight on Friday. So, we were home in time for all of this winter weather. Thankfully, it gave us some time to prep the house and buy groceries/supplies. We drove back through some really nasty weather, but it wasn't this round of crud. We are extremely lucky to still have power and water. Nearly everyone we know is without at least one, if not both. Many go back and forth with losing and gaining power too. A number of people I know lost power around 8pm on Sunday and are still without. We may actually get above freezing for an hour or two today if my weather app is right, but we have another winter system coming in Wednesday/Thursday. It'll be 70 by Sunday.

We could still be pulled off the grid to help conserve, so we're still a bit nervous. Thankfully, we have a lot of winter gear...between winter camping stuff, ski stuff, cold weather race stuff, things I've retained from all of my years in NJ and NY, and my obsession with winter boots...and I think we should be good. Still, I would prefer to keep power and water. At least I can justify owning these with weather like this.

Those boots look so toasty!

It's good that you all made it home in time to get items to batten down the hatches. I hope your power stays on, too. Do you have a fireplace if you lose power? (I know that's a silly question for someone who lives in Houston, but I had one when I lived in Phoenix.) At least you will be back to normal by the weekend, but jeez, it's probably not fun having to deal with all of this weird weather.

The tofu was mostly an issue at the beginning and through the beginning of summer but I did notice vegan cheese was a little spottier than usual last month but it was also on sale

I think that's nice that he ordered a Valentine's (take-out) dinner for the both of you, for tomorrow. Plus, I don't think anyone should have to cook dinner on V Day. And I "get it" about cooking fatigue. Not being able to go out and enjoy a nice (indoor) restaurant meal for a year now, has really gotten under my skin, too. Thank goodness for an occasional take-out. I hope you enjoy your Valentine's dinner tomorrow! ❤️
Erm...I cooked on VDay and turned out a nice, Disney-inspired meal. Seared duck b****t like we would get at Chefs de France and wild rice pancakes that I learned from a F&W seminar many years ago. Then again. I just .love to cook, so it's no hardship for me. I'd rather cook at home and not pay 300% markup for my wine!!

Definitely bizarre. My hubby is into it. I watch with him. I enjoyed most of the Marvel movies, so I don't mind, but I do seek.out the "nerd" videos after each episode so that I have a clue!

Today was gorgeous!! I went for a walk at lunch with a co worker. So enjoyable. But I hear we should expect 4-8 inches of snow on Thursday 😵

I do, too. I am honestly so clueless about Marvel that even things covered in those videos go over my head. My husband was the one who starting watching it and I just went along with the ride. After he watched the last episode, he said it was a British slang word that rhymes with "white" and that he wasn't interested anymore. :hilarious: (His cluelessness about Marvel rivals mine.) But something tells me he will be watching again this week.

Good morning. ☀️

I am in with my daily workout. It's just a bodyweight workout again. I really need to clamp down on my cake consumption. I just have a small, skinny slice after dinner, but I am also not walking like I used to before the weather got gross. I can't wait until winter loosens its grip and spring is in sight.

We watched Promising Young Woman. It was a very dark comedy-- the way Parasite was dark. It was kind of wild, to put it mildly.
