working out for Disney

If anyone is curious, I grill the veggies in a grilling basket like this one. I just put them in a zip-lock bag, toss with olive oil, dump them in the basket and sprinkle with seasoning, then grill away, stirring often to prevent over charring. Of course, if you don't want so much smoke, don't grill them at the same time as the chicken.

I'm trying to ease back into a workout plan. I got sick while we were on vacation...and now all of us are sick. I think the nasal spray the allergist recommended for my asthma treatment made me worse. I won't get graphic, but it's made my nose an uncomfortable and disgusting mess. I was feeling better on Sunday, so I put in a 3.5 mile run. Yesterday and today, I did modified versions of my standard gym workout. Tomorrow I'm going to try and bump up to gym and run. Aside from being sick, I've been in a mental funk after runDisney stuff, so I need to turn this all around.

Speaking of turning things around, my husband...who has no idea how any of this feels, wanted me to try dairy while we were away. Cheese and milk chocolate did not go well, but butter was a success. That's not a major shock, since I started this journey by only going lactose free. I bought some Greek yogurt to make a batch of tzatziki, so we'll see how this goes. I did have an easier time with weight loss/maintenance with this little bit of dairy, so maybe this is for the best. We shall see.

Mine has a little GF section, but it seems to be more about baking kits. I'll have to check to see if mine has added in anything else.
Same here bread, bagels, wraps, pasta(which the boys love quinoa brown rice), baking mixes, crackers and such but scattered through the store are usually several other items. Most of their lunch meat is something you'd think you wouldn't have to watch but do:cautious: Their stevia is but mustard isn't:cautious: salad dressing have to be checked:rolleyes: the hummus is good but I usually make my own same with salsa but again each variety should be checked:mad: Their orange juice is certified as not every brand is. Again check every label for gf/df just to be safe. Good luck

I have a cold on top of returning home at 2 am yesterday. I thought a day would be fine. That was a nope.

Sunday I was dragging myself around. I almost would have preferred being by the pool instead of in the parks.
Update: I felt worse on Wednesday. I woke up this morning and was like, okay, time to go to the doctor. I went to the doctor, and they sent me along with three prescriptions. Including an antibiotic and orders to stay on my nebulizer. Apparently I was actually wheezing, which is unusual for me. Usually I just get tight and not a lot of air moves. Not this time.

Ugh.

There is some nasty crud floating around out there. Hope the meds help and you're feeling better soon.

Still trying to get back into some kind of fitness routine, but it's all feeling strange. I still have coughing and congestion from being sick. We're all on the mend, but definitely not 100%. I haven't even tried running since Sunday. I've thought about it, but just don't want to risk it. The funny thing...I don't miss it! I tried doing some yoga yesterday, but after 15 minutes in, I just wanted to do something else. So...I did. I hopped on the bike for 30 minutes and incorporated in a bunch of arm work. I did a different variation of this today. I guess at least the biking, weights, leg work and abs seems to not aggravate my respiratory system like running on Sunday did...and maybe I'll experiment with yoga again...although, my brain is saying barre. We shall see. I've done some variation of all of this every day this week...so at least I'm keeping active.

I decided to take another leap back into adding lactose-free/low-lactose dairy back into my life. I used a non-fat Greek yogurt to make a tzatziki dressing that I've been using for a number of things. So far so good with the tummy.

Thanks. My mom had it when we were in WDW, so she came back and went to the doctor the day after. I just had the cough and some head congestion in WDW. It didn't stop me from walking to DHS early to get RotR boarding groups or staying until closing. I think getting on the plane back just shoved everything up in my head and gave the infection a chance to brew.

Pretty cool Valentine's present. It is a Citizen Promaster Divers watch. I used to scuba dive, many, many years ago but have not done so in more than thirty years now after rupturing an eardrum at 80 feet down in a spring in northern Florida. That put an end to my scuba diving, but I can still enjoy a dive watch.
This one came in a very nice, miniature scuba tank display box. Fun.

Got in lots of exercise yesterday, maybe too much. Since it was the first Saturday with no rain in quite a while, we got out and went hiking to some waterfalls in the NC mountains. It was a bit cold, but fun, and with all the precipitation lately, the water was really flowing. This one is called Soco Falls in Maggie Valley, NC, and you view it from above at a viewing platform that is an easy walk from the parking area. There is also a steep, rope assisted walkway down to the bottom, but we chose not to go down to the bottom, though you can see some folks did.

This waterfalls is called Mingo Falls and it is in Cherokee, NC. From the parking area there is a long flight of wooden stairs that leads up to the pathway that is about 1/4 mile from the base of these very high falls. You can't see the falls until you get to the platform built across the water, but boy when you do get there, the view looking up is spectacular.
