Happy Monday, I spent yesterday cooking. I prepped a bushel of broccoli, made a broccoli potato salad with some, put some aside for the week and froze some. Made tomato sauce, made fillings and stuffed and oven full of stuffed peppers. Made lower carb sugar free apple crumb, cut and froze some peppers, made zoodles and mac and cheese. NO COOKING for me today, oh wait I'm making carrot soup now:facepalm:. I also spent some quality:cautious: time with Jillian Michaels this morning and will bundle up to go for a walk with the group later. Hope you all had a nice weekend.:joyfull:

So I read an online article about some of the most unhealthy foods and one of the items was canned corned beef hash. In honor of that article I made a corned beef hash omelet for dinner tonight.
I made some corned beef hash and onions, sauteed in olive oil, then made room for a couple of eggs in the middle of the pan, let it set on the bottom then finished under the broiler in the little countertop oven. Added some cheese and folded it in half like an omelet and served with some fresh tomatoes. Breakfast for dinner.
And yes, I know using canned corned beef hash is questionable at best, but coming from a background where we had nothing, that was a rare treat, and I still keep a can or two in the pantry, same for spam. When you were so poor that hash and spam were both considered real treats, sometimes you want to forget it, but sometimes something that simple makes you appreciate what you do have now. Sorry, got off on a little tangent there didn't I ?

I loved that Hormel corned beef hash that we grew up on as children. I haven't had it since then but I still remember how good it was especially when my Mom got the edges crispy!! Oh no, now I want some.....:hungry:

Good afternoon. After running errands, came home and did laundry, put up some pictures and accessories bought over the weekend for the newly painted fireplace mantel, paid some bills, and going to do weights in a bit. Walking may be inside this evening if the rain showers persist. But, we really needed this rain. Got over an inch last night. First day in forever that I haven't had to water my flowers outside. DH is almost finished painting outside. Yayyy now we can have some relaxing weekends!! No, we really needed to do it. It looks really good. Here is a picture of the front. All I need to do is repaint the front door. ps the screening at the bottom is to keep my bunnies from eating two plants, which they already ate two up.:arghh:2017-08-05 15.45.26.jpg

Looks really good. If I had done that, there would be drips all over the brick.

The flowers on your porch are very pretty. That's a nice paint job as well. You and your hubs are a team! :)

Good morning!! So we had an interesting night last night!
We have been having lots of big moths getting in our house at night. I guess they are following the light. Who knows? One night DH swatted 6.
Well around 10 we were watching tv before bed. My DH jumps up and says a moth flew in his ear! :eek:I ran for a flashlight but couldn't see it. It was fluttering near his ear drum and causing pain. I googled and found out that some say put a little olive in ear to, I guess to drown it. It stopped moving but still didn't come out. We went to bed with plans to visit the dtr today to remove it. DH got up and showered. It fell out while he was washing his hair.
He can hear and no pain except for us tugging his earlobe looking for it.
Neither of us have ever had a moth in the ear. This was the strangest thing!!

Update on the moth incident: DH had to go to the dtr cause his hearing got muffled. Dtr washed the remainder of the moth out. Yuck! Once the water dries out and the "moth dust" from wings absorbs, he should be fine. Crazy week this week!

Yuck I can't even imagine! Glad it's all out I would not have handled it well at all.

This is one of the craziest things I've heard. I would have flipped out completely if a moth flew in my ear?!! So glad he did go to the doctor and had his ear cleaned out. Glad he's o.k.

Good morning I did a LS walk while my "granola" was baking. It's easy and low carb:joyfull:. Soak 2 cups whole flax seeds in water overnight with 1cup water, 1 TBSP cinnamon and a bit of stevia. The next morning place on parchment baking sheet and bake at 250 for 30 minutes and flip and bake for 30 more minutes or until easily crumbled. My house smells great:inlove: BTW I eat it with a bit of fruit and coconut milk:hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry:
