Whole grilled chicken tonight, coated with a little olive oil and Weber Kickin' Chicken rub. Indirect at 350 to internal temp of 170. Very moist and tender, like a rotisserie chicken from the supermarket, only more moist, juicy and tasty. Served with some farmers market sides and a big ole tomato biscuit.

Good morning just some easy yoga and heading to the pool early before it gets too crowded:joyfull: I have some "granola" left over for breakfast, some roasted veggies and salad for lunch and salad with chick peas for dinner. My cherry and pear tomatoes are finally coming in fast enough what I bough yesterday may be the last I need to buy for quite a while:joyfull:

Wow, today was the best day, at least best weather day, this summer. High here was 82, much lower than average, and the humidity was 48 percent, very dry for summertime. Yes, I know the hot and humid will return, but today was so nice. We did a little hiking at a local state park, packed a picnic and just had an outdoor afternoon. Grilled some burgers when we got home and had some fresh cucumbers and tomatoes to go with the burgers. No fries, so saved a few carbs there.

Good morning I'm feeling a bit less stressed. Turning off my phones yesterday helped LOL. Still doing yoga and Today I will enjoy the first squash from my garden:hungry::hungry::hungry: There are 3 big enough to make zoodles:joyfull:

At our house, the phone can be a definite source of stress. We like to turn off the TV or stereo and enjoy a quiet meal together, and it almost never fails, sit down for dinner and the stupid phone rings. Sometimes the timing is eerie, fork in hand, first bite anticipated but not yet enjoyed and bam, stupid phone rings. Sometimes it is marketing calls, but more often family or friends. I don't know when they have dinner, but they have no respect for our dining time. And often it is work calling about something that was forgotten earlier or needs following up on. Frustrating, yes, stressful. I want to put a message on the machine saying something about not calling us between 6 to around 8 p.m. ever unless there is an emergency, and it better be a real, not perceived emergency, but my wife says that is rude. Picking up the phone during dinner and yelling "Quit calling during dinner time!" seems to me to be more rude, but I am tempted.
Rant over. Enjoy those zoodles.

Good morning! Had a great weekend. DH did more painting. We replaced a storm door with the retractable screen on the top. It really cooled down our foyer that is always boiling hot.
Grocery shopping and laundry today. Walking and weights. Dinner is leftover turkey burgers and veggies.
Have a great day!

Bought a new grill today because, well, I am still trying to come up with a reason to buy another grill. I think I can use the same excuse my wife does when she buys new shoes, "There is no such thing as too many shoes."
So that is what I am going with, "There is no such thing as too many grills."
This one is an Akorn Jr. mini smoker/kamado grill. It is made of metal instead of ceramic like my other two kamados so it is much lighter weight and will be easy to take camping or on picnics. Maybe that will be the excuse, it is lighter and easier to transport.
You will notice in the photo, I actually bought two, but only one is for me. The other will be a much appreciated Christmas present. Also in the picture is the new outdoor bench with built in storage I bought for my wife. The plan is to give her the bench then say something like, oh, I bought a couple of new grills too, you know, while I was there. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Here is what the bench will look like. Have not got it put together yet, but I think she will like it when I do. We have a wooden bench, so I think she will like the metal and wicker combo. Some floral cushions will add a pop of color, but I will let her pick the cushions.

Sounds like just the ticket. ;)

And we don't even entertain the thought of picking up the phone during dinner. We just let the answering machine get it. If it's anyone worth talking to, we call back after the dishes are done. :)

Good morning! Cool again but beautiful blue skies. DH took the downspouts off the gutters last night so I can paint them today.
The rabbits that showed up when Chloe our kitty died are still here. They are so animated! They love the birdseed that falls from our feeders and eating my tomato plants. I protected my big plant so they won't eat it. They are eating on some that came up from seeds. We just have this huge hawk that keeps showing up. Two close calls so far!
Better go paint. Have a great day!!
