I made my macaron shells and they look decent for the first time making them. I tried to pipe all of them onto one baking sheet, which turned out to be a big mistake. I think I could have cooked them a minute or two longer. I cracked the tops of some of the shells when trying to pry them off the baking sheet, so I think they were slightly undercooked. Also, some of them "grew" together. But they are still tasty.

I made some home made lemon curd and when it cools a bit, I will fill the shells.

They did "grow feet" when I baked them, so that's a good thing. "Feet" are those frilly edges on the shell. At least I did that right. :hilarious:

In all, I learned a lot from just trying. I've taken note of what to do differently next time.

EDIT: I took a photo of (some) them.

Good afternoon ladies! I have been running errands all morning and just got back home. I picked up a new outdoor patio rug to put in our screened porch. I also picked up some steaks and shrimp for my DH's birthday dinner tomorrow. He pulled a muscle in his lower back this weekend lifting a 60 lb bag.:( He was doing it right, but he has pulled it out before a long time ago. I had to do everything we had planned to do outside this past weekend. So, I am just walking with him when he gets home today. I did a lot of lifting and moving around for him. Today, he said it is a little stiff but he is able to function at work. :) No lifting for him awhile.
Hope you all are having gorgeous weather like us. It is sunny and 77 right now. So, I am getting outside. Have a great evening! :cat:

Good morning! Waiting for the grass to dry so I can go spray the weeds. Yesterday, I got my 5 miles done outside. The forecast calls for days in the 70s and nights in the 50s. I think Spring is finally here to stay. :D Yoga this afternoon. Found out that this is really good for my asthma with all the concentrated breathing.
Grilling out dinner for the hubby on his birthday today. We will be having steak and shrimp, baked potato, and a salad. We have been eating on his birthday cake since Friday  so one more serving tonight.

They look really good!

Thank you. They turned out better than I thought they would. :)
I learned from my mistakes and will probably make another batch for Easter. They are fussy things to make though!

Wow! Those look very professional. I wouldn't even attempt to try and make meringues. I remember years ago my mother telling me that it's a detailed, precise method to follow--she had a few meringue disasters, as I recall.

Thank you--those were the few decent looking ones. :hilarious: I made a French meringue. You just whip egg whites with cream of tartar. There is less room for error, though. I know Italian meringue is a bit more fiddly to make, but then there is more wiggle room when you use it to make the macarons. It's a trade off.

Sounds like an awesome birthday dinner. I hope his back is feeling better today. :)

Hello-

I have been working out, still. My son is off this week, so we've been hanging out. Yesterday, he was helping me with yard work. It was such a great day for it. :)

I bailed on the lifting weights and HIIT as much as I enjoy that type of training. :( It was making me so hungry. Also, the higher intensity workouts were messing with some female functions. So, I found some old body weight workouts that are cardio, strength training and flexibility all in one. I did one yesterday and I am a little bit sore today. The person who makes these workouts has a streaming service that's $19/mo. I do like the workouts, but I am subscribed to three different streaming sites. I'll have to see how I feel. I would drop one or two. Crazy. :hilarious:

I have started doing the free yoga on amazon prime. I am doing the ones by Meera Hoffman. She is very relaxing. Have you done hers?

OUCH! I'm cheap! I've been doing yoga practices from psyche truth on youtube or my Shiva Rea DVDs. I can do somewhere between 8 and 10 miles (combination LS and outside) before it messes with me. Weights are what gets me. As for Jillian Michael's workouts I can do the shorter ones and walking before they get to me, if I do about an hour it doesn't matter if I walk or not I'm starving.

Hello 6 LS miles and I'm going to try a new PT practice today(let you know how it goes tomorrow). Tonight's dinner veggie stir fry(sans oil) with a spicy chili sauce. For some reason I'm craving spicy today

I keep forgetting about videos on Amazon Prime. My husband has it. I keep hearing about different workout available, but then I forget to look.

Yeah, I think it's the HIIT workouts that do me in. I think it's because you keep burning fat afterwards and I'm guessing that's where the increased hunger comes from.

As promised I did the Julia Jarvis weight loss/detox practice Psyche Truth on both youtube and Amazon Prime yesterday. It was relaxing and worth trying and with any detox/digestion there was a bit of twisting but nothing extreme. It seemed to go quicker than the time stated. I'm going to do her flexability one in a few minutes:joyfull:
