Hello-

My ankle was cranky today (probably from yesterday's impact-palooza workout), so I did an upper body workout that was just weights-no cardio. I didn't burn a lot of calories and I am trying to tell myself that it wasn't a waste of time. Yesterday was pretty intense, so it was probably a good idea to listen to my body and rest the old ankle.
A very smart move resting your ankle! No exercise is every a waste and if it's still bothering you today just put on some music, get into a squat if you can handle it and punch away your anger at the ankle. That will burn a ton of calories and work out some aggression. Hope you're all better today.

I'm loving JS' #SOS today is day 4 and so far it's fun and sweaty. It's nice to get out of the DVD rut LOL. Tonight's dinner broccoli with garlic, onion, pasta, white beans and a bit of EVOO. My plate will be mostly steam broccoli with a bit of the pasta dish. The rain should hold off so we're going out walking today:) No coffee run as we all have things to do:(

Oh man I am in big trouble come cold weather. Got up for a pre-sunrise walk this morning and it was downright brisk. I kept thinking that I am gonna have to abandon the short pants soon. I walked a little faster to get back in.
Our local forecasters have been talking about a cold front headed this way and I thought I had not really paid attention because I thought they said it would not get colder until the end of the week.
Came in and looked at the thermometer and it and gotten down to a frigid low of 62. Yes, 62. What the heck am I gonna do when it actually gets cold? I have noticed my tolerance of temperature extremes has diminished but this is ridiculous. It is supposed to drop to the low 40s by tomorrow. That is a huge difference from Monday's mid 80s.
Come actual freezing temps and I will be shivering to the core. Of course, once it starts being consistently cold maybe I'll get more used to it, but I thought it was cold this morning until I looked at the thermometer and realized it was just me.
Rant over.

Hello-
I am in with a lower body strength training workout, followed by a 16 minute hiit workout. I am toast, but happy. :)

I am experimenting with my Instant Pot. I am trying to convert a casserole I would bake in the oven into a pressure cooker recipe. I didn't feel like turning my oven on today when it was quite warm out today. I am hoping this works. I added a bit more water than the real recipe requires so the pressure cooker can build pressure. I think it might take a while, though. *fingers crossed*

OK-I spoke too soon. I think maybe there wasn't enough fluid in it, because it never came to pressure and the bottom of my insert has burnt on food. I am probably going to have to bake this after all. :(

A stitch in time saves nine.

I'm sorry, it seems mine doesn't handle casseroles well either:( I've read you can line them with foil but I don't like cooking with it. Now you've got me wondering if parchment would work for those. That's how I do those types of things in the slow cooker.

Good morning and it's day 5 of #, abs. I'm glad it was easy because the wind was howling last night and woke me up a few times:cautious: I'm going mall walking, getting some shopping done and heading to the big farm market by me today. When I'm done the plan is to do some yoga before bed

I think it was too thick. I kept adding broth to the point I was concerned about diluting the flavor. I was making unstuffed cabbage rolls. I did bake it and it came out fine. We ate much later than I wanted, but I guess it is a learning experience. LOL

I think a lot of people use a trivet and a pan to make casseroles and lasagna. I like to make large lasagnas, portion them, and freeze them, so the IP won't work for that.

Hello-

I just finished a kickboxing workout that finished off with some weights. It was good. It packed in a lot in 30 minutes. :)

Tomorrow is daffodil and tulip bulb planting that I have been putting off for the past two weeks.

That all sounds like fun. Seeing the weather has remained warmer this year your bulbs will be fine. I wish I could grow tulips, they're referred to as deer chow in my neighborhood:(

Came home yesterday to what has got to be the last of the hibiscus blooms for this season. They have to come in soon to their little spot in the basement because they can't survive our winters outdoors. So here is the late bloomer:

That's beautiful, I'm down to mums being about the only blooms around here:(

Good morning, I hope everybody got to enjoy a little extra sleep. I found a bit of time so I squeezed in some #SOS before cooking yesterday and this morning I finished out the week. I'm freezing so I'm going to throw a pot of minestrone sans pasta in the pressure cooker today and roast a large pan of mostly root veggies. Nothing like unwaxed rutabegas, turnips, onions, carrots, parsnips and butternut squash sprinkled with a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg to make the house smell good:)
