Good morning, just checking in with some upper body and an outdoor walk. Going out again with my friends once it warms a bit:joyfull: We're finally cutting the cable, now I may want to look in a streaming workout service with some of the money we'll be saving if it's worth it:joyfull:

We have been having record high temps here the past few days. 86 yesterday, not quite as warm today, but close. And, practically no rain the entire month of October. I am sure it will be cold enough soon, but for the last few weeks the air has been off, windows open and attic fan going. I love the fresh air.

We have Sling. My husband is the one who watches it for news and his soccer team. It has a bunch of cable networks on it. Our cable/internet bills were getting outrageous with Comcast. We cut the cord, because nobody really watches TV here anymore. We rent moves through iTunes. Sometimes I will buy a season pass of tv series if I really like it.

Nice! It's supposed to warm up here for the next 2 days, too! I love opening the windows here, too. I had them open on Sunday.

Hello-

First I wanted to say thanks for letting me want about my mom. She is really difficult to be around and I am always in a funk after being around her.

Anyway, today was a leg day and I mixed in a hiit workout with it, too. It was a tough workout, but I felt so good when I was done. I have chicken "enchiladas" in my Instant Pot and I have hit my Fitbit step target for the day. :)

Clean out the fridge night is fun. Was gonna make soup, but decided I wanted the sausage with some peppers, onion and mushrooms. The rest is just leftover mixed veggies, soup beans and Mexican cornbread. Tasty and easy to prepare. Not much goes to waste at our house. Check out the color on those onions and peppers.

I almost gave you a like for this, but those lima beans have got to go. :hungover: Those are o.k. to throw out.

Ugh. Dropping pounds takes so long. Started at the end of September, and I'm "almost" down 8. Trying to lose 10 by Thanksgiving, and that would be the halfway point to my major goal of 20. But, I'll see how it goes. I'm still eating everything I like, just a lot less; and I've cut out things like cake and cookies.

The only reason I haven't thrown in the towel is because a woman at work is having heart bypass surgery. She was overweight (a lot more than 20 pounds . . .), and I thought I should drop some weight to get back in a healthy range for my height, to avoid potential problems down the road. Why can't delicious treats be low in calories??! :banghead:

"Almost" eight pounds in a month is really great! It's really common to have a large loss at first, but then that slows a bit. I still think it's possible to hit your target, though. A healthy target for weight loss is 1-2 lbs/week. Slow and steady wins the race. :)

Good luck. I had lost 80 pounds up to November of last year. Since then, for reasons, that I do not understand, I have put on 20 pounds. Same diet that I was using when I lost weight, and have even doubled my exercise with no luck. Who knows maybe I have unconsciously started eating more or higher calorie things.

In answer to your question, god put calories in things to give them flavor. Sort of the way of insuring a hell on earth scenario.

Congrats...eight pounds is a good accomplishment. You should be proud of your efforts. Looking at it as a long term effort and lifestyle change, as opposed to a short term change made a difference to me. And I rarely get on the scales, about once a month or less.

THNX we're going with an antenna, netflix and hulu sans commercials. That should/hopefully make everybody happy

You're doing great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Slow and steady wins the race. Crash diets work wonders until every ounce comes back and they brings lots and lots of friends along. Lifestyle changes take longer but can last forever. Congrats!

Good morning I'm doing one of Jessica Smith's programs #SOS something or another all I know is today was day 3, yoga with lots of stillness and holding poses but the heart rate still went up at times.:)I also did a bit of Cize, it was fun. I like dance workouts but have to be in the mood for them:confused: any way it's was nice this morning so my group went out and walked around the the lake and then we went for coffee, as usual I was the odd one out and got herbal tea:hungry: time to start lunch:hungry:

I am the same way with dance workouts--I have to be in the mood. And I know you have to learn the routine and everything, but taking it from the top over and over again gets really old. I had to give up on Beach Body workouts, their instructors are too over the top for me. I tend to gravitate towards instructors who are positive and motivating without being loud and obnoxious.

Hello-

My ankle was cranky today (probably from yesterday's impact-palooza workout), so I did an upper body workout that was just weights-no cardio. I didn't burn a lot of calories and I am trying to tell myself that it wasn't a waste of time. Yesterday was pretty intense, so it was probably a good idea to listen to my body and rest the old ankle.

Thanks @Sans Souci , @epcotisbest , @figmentfan423 , and @Goofyernmost for your encouragement. Guess I was just a little frustrated this morning, that's all. I had hoped to be down at least 10 pounds (out of 20 that I need to drop) by now. Oh well.

But, you guys set my head back on straight when you all agreed that slow and steady is the best way to go. You know, sometimes I watch the tv commercials with the celebrities, and they all seem to drop a pile of weight in just a few weeks on those diets they advertise. Problem is, I don't think I'd like the food they have on those diets (not to mention the cost of those meals), so I never even considered them. I'll just stick with what I'm doing.

Oh, @Goofyernmost , haven't a clue what's up with your meal plans that worked so well for you for quite some time. Maybe you're just retaining more fluid or something, that might spike your weight a bit. Sometimes things like thyroid issues can throw off your weight, too. Hope you find a solution and can get back on track. (Again, it may be nothing different that you're doing--maybe something else is behind it.)
