In the Summer, 70 sounds warm, but in the winter, I need heat. 70 just doesn't cut it, so I'm usually wrapped in sweaters and blankets and I have the heating pat mattress cover.

Taking a bit of a day off today. Last night was CRAZY at work and my hip is feeling a bit grumbly. I am making meatloaf and green beans for dinner. Yum!

Sorry about your hip. Is there anything else you can do about it? PT?

Good morning!! I never thought that I would be so happy to see rain!!! It started last night. It's the first rain we've had in 3 weeks! It was getting very dry here.
Got my stretching and weights in yesterday but no walking outside. Had to do it inside.
@Sans Souci what leg exercises do you do? I need some toning.
Doing laundry and seeing what I can clean today.
Have a good day!!

We watched on the radar as a nice line of rain was headed this way from Alabama and Tennessee. It kinda fizzled out around us and moved on to SC. We did not get a single drop. It is so dry here our yard is crunchy and covered with dried up leaves. We have been trying to water some of the main flowers and shrubs, but for much of the landscape, it may be too late. I hope not.

Ohh no. I thought surely you got some. Our bushes were starting to go downhill fast. Maybe you will get some today?

Nah, folks to the west, north and east of us got rain. We got squat. The local weather people have classified our area as "extreme drought."
Yuck! You know we were in a bad drought then got inches and inches this summer. My parents live 30 mts away and got nothing. Since we hadn't gotten any rain, our drought outlook was beginning to go back towards extreme. This is helping a lot but it could get dry again and change. And I don't think they are calling for much winter precipitation.

Had something interesting happen this morning. While out walking I heard a loud boom. I thought, gunshot or car wreck. Turned out it was a breaker on a power transformer that blew when an unfortunate squirrel got too curious. It blew the poor squirrel about 30 feet from the pole.
I called Georgia Power, played the "press one" game through several layers of menus and the recorded voice said service would be restored by 9 a.m. I thought, "yeah, right."
To my surprise, a truck came rolling up before 8:30 and the gentleman has the breaker repaired in less than 10 minutes. No repairing the poor little squirrel though.

Poor little guy!! That happens all the time. My DH has seen a lot of dead animals on power lines! :(
I hate that boom when it happens. It is such a loud noise. We had one in the backyard one time, and my cat was asleep on the deck. I think she lost a couple of lives that day! It took her forever to go back out there!

@93boomer

This is what I did yesterday.
IMG_0283.jpg

You do circuit one as many times as you can for seven minutes, then take a 30 second break and move on to circuit two and do that was many times as you can for seven minutes. Then, you take another 30 sec break and go back to circuit one and do that for seven minutes, take a break and complete circuit two--then cool down and stretch. I usually get through each circuit twice in seven minutes. I just use chairs for the two benches and a hand weight instead of the medicine ball.

Thank you!! Exactly what I am looking for.

Hello-

My legs were sore today, so I just went for a walk around my neighborhood. I have no idea what I am having for dinner. I have some leftover grilled veggie kababs, so I'll probably heat that up with some hummus and basmati rice. I'm not even hungry, truth be told.

Up in the Northeast, we've been wondering what kind of fall foliage there will be this year. Our area is also so dry, and we're down something like 6 inches of rain. It's been the driest year on record in MA.

As for the food part of this thread, I also had hommus, cheese, and Triscuit crackers for dinner, and a cookie and glass of milk. :hungry:
