working out for Disney

Hello-

I did a 30 minute leg circuit. Wow. What a sweatfest. :hungover:

I have been unpacking (still) today. It's slowly coming together. I am still feeling unsettled, but that will get better with time. Tomorrow is my son's first day of HS and he seems really excited.

I am going to fire up the grill shortly and make some chicken and tofu kebabs. LOL

The weather has been gorgeous this weekend. I am really glad Hermine didn't get any closer. I was really worried about severe storms and what not.

And not all that unusual once one rips themselves from the exile of Disney onsite living. I know I enjoy a $22. meal much more then a hundred dollar one. It makes me feel all warm inside. :)

I am going down to WDW next week and I have been trying to get a friend to go offsite at Seasons 52. It's cheaper, tastier and just has an overall adult vibe. I'm having no luck. LOL

If I was wrong at work as often as a weather forecaster, I'd be fired. What a gorgeous day.

Walked for 2 hours through conservatory, rock garden, forest trails, and rose garden. In the rose garden I noticed a pretty rose and leaned in to see its name tag.

Imagine my surprise, to be "greeted" by my friend!

Sri Lankan eggplant curry...is that like "Hal"? With lentils and rice and cumin seeds? One of my friends here...well, she just moved to Germany a couple months ago, but I met her here, is from Sri Lanka and she taught me to make it, but MAN is it time consuming. I've never made it because you have to soak the lentils forever, and then you have to let all the spices steep for ages....it's delicious, but not conducive to work and school schedules.
Not really it's eggplant with onion and bloomed spices finished with coconut milk.

I am just trying to learn how to use my pressure cooker before moving on to entire meals in it. Allegedly, you don't have to soak the beans before cooking them in this pressure cooker. I am experimenting with cheap foods, so it's not such a loss if I mess up. LOL
You can do the beans without soaking but I find soaking kidney and black beans for about 2 hours does help a bit. It's not a must but I like the texture just a bit more.

So we did a quick getaway to Orlando with no specific plans other than to relax for a few days. Was a little disappointed that there were fewer vendors at the farmers market this morning, but we did get some nice cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, broccoli and seedless watermelon. The lady with the fresh guacamole and salsa was not there today.
We spent the better part of the day poolside until it came up a torrential rainstorm with some lightning. The place we are staying has several pools and the house we are in has its own small pool.
Plans for the week are kinda up in the air.
We are in a three bedroom, three full bath house down 192 west a few miles from WDW. A bit big for two people but I am not going to complain about having too much space.
I think that may have been due to the heat of summer. Some farmers down there are able to get in 2 crops of summer veggies with a break this time of year.

Good morning life is finally getting back to normal. I was able to get up on time to do 5 fast LS miles. That whole water fiasco caused me to miss scheduled workouts but I guess pulling 300 some odd feet of hose with rope, wires and a pump attached counts as working out and putting it back in was no picnic either.

I think I might try that the next time. The beans were done, but the skins weren't splitting. I also thought the recipe I used too many spices. They didn't taste bad, per se, but they were so heavily seasoned. The beans were "competing" with the flavor of the carne aside--if that makes sense. LOL Next time, I think I'll just use an onion and a bay leaf.

I think replacing a pump in a well definitely qualifies for as a serious workout. LOL

Good morning!! Wow is the weather gorgeous or what?? The storms sure cleared out the skies and made for some nice weather.
My DH got home Sunday so the holiday wasn't a total washout! We did lots outside yesterday. I painted so much I couldn't hold a brush any more. But it was so nice to be outside.
We got in our walk after dinner. Today stretching and weights.
I need to find another recipe to use up the sausages we grilled out last night.
Hope everyone had a great day!!

OK-

I haven't worked out yet and I am not sure that I will at this point. This crazy thing happened to my foot. This morning, the heel of my foot began itching, like this deep, intense itch that I couldn't quell. I was taking my foot and rubbing it on the carpet trying to feel some relief. I was beginning to think I had Athlete's Foot. But I don't go to gyms, wear fresh socks every day and clean my shower frequently. I don't walk around barefoot outside, either. Plus, my heel didn't look "infected."

The itchiness abated a bit, but what replaced (or arrived along side it) is this bone pain. I can't put weight on a certain part of my heel. It is so weird. The pain is at the inside, just above my ankle (if that makes sense). I googled Plantar Fasciitis and maybe that's what I have? I don't know. I think today is going to be a day off.

Any chance of a stress fracture? Sometimes, stress fractures can somewhat mimic Plantars Fasciitis. The only way to know is if it's x-rayed; yet, aside of that, it could be a number of different things. (I just knew someone who had a stress fracture, and he thought it was Plantars Fasciitis, until the doctor did more tests.)

Seems like I haven't been there for ages. Just curious--do they still have a water ski show, too? I enjoyed that (years ago).
No, no waterwater ski show either. That was fun while it lasted, but have not had it for awhile now. Several things were not running today including the penguin ride, sky tower ride and they still don't have trainers in the water with the orcas. Lots of nice landscaping and we enjoy viewing the sharks and manatee too. Saw an injured manatee that they are getting ready to return to the wild following rehab. That was cool.
Talked to someone at Wild Arctic who said they probably won't have polar bears again.
