Hello-
I am in with Body Combat 58. Nice and sweaty, just how I like it. :)
It was in the upper 70s today, so I made this recipe for pork satay with Thai spices and peanut sauce from the NYT. I can post it, if anyone wants it. It was delicious.

@epcotisbest It's good to see you and your photos again. That truck you sold is so cute. Good for you in getting more than you expected!
Thank you. That recipe sounds good. Please post it when you get a chance. Always like trying new things.

So there are worse things I could be doing on a lonely Sunday evening than taking flower photos. Hope I did not bore you too much with my quiet (except for the crazy barking dogs) activity. Here is my favorite photo of the evening. Not because of the color, or composition or anything, but for what it is.
This is the big ole Mountain Laurel shrub growing beside one corner of our house and it has just started to begin to bloom. Looks like it is going to be very full this year. What makes this photo interesting to me is I happened to stumble across the very first and only bloom to open up so far. A single bloom that decided someone had to go first. It is an early riser, kinda like me.
So, while a kinda boring photo, I think it is cool seeing the very first of what looks to be a whole lotta blooms to come.

have you tried the shirataki noodles yet? Salad is also filling and low carb depending on what you put in and on it:hilarious:
No, not tried shirataki noodles. I do eat a lot of salad, but tend to also eat a lot of dressing to go with it, so I take my healthy meal and cover it in unhealthy. It is like taking fresh, healthy squash and battering it up and deep frying it. Sorta defeats the benefits of the fresh veggies. Oh, I love fried squash, green tomatoes, potatoes...who am I kidding, I love just about anything fried....especially chicken. Now I am craving chicken and waffles.

I do too...especially if it's something I really like a lot. I've reduced my carb intake by about 1/2 and I THINK it's working, but I haven't stepped on a scale in months. But I think it's working because I noticed the pants I put on this morning were more loose than usual.
Congratulations! Watching the carbs has helped for me...at least in the battle of the sugar. The best thing about cutting back on the carbs is you can still have tasty meals without going hungry. I am not strict enough about serving size yet, but know the weight loss will continue once I get more strict. I am still down many, many pounds from where I used to be, just stopped losing weight now and I've got more to shed.
Keep up the good reduced carb effort. It does make a difference.

I hate plain boring salads!!!!! Sometimes I water saute veggies and mix them and lots of herbs, a few grinds of salt and pepper and a bit of evoo or safflower oil with my greens

I can't tell you how many plateaus I hit so don't give up. Back when I'd lose a bunch and stop or even go up a few and then out of nowhere down again. I think for you getting healthy is the most important thing and the weight will come off when it feels good and ready:confused:

Look what I found today. Was going through the top of a kitchen cabinet looking for my Margaritaville glass (hey if you are going to make a tropical smoothie you might as well put it in the Margaritaville glass) and in the back of the cabinet I found this old AK mug that I had almost forgotten about. It is weird to have so many coffee cups, but glad I ran across this one. I could collect weirder stuff I suppose. Actually, I do. Don't even ask how many neckties I have. It used to be a strange obsession, but have not bought a necktie for several years now. I do have hundreds though, many I have never worn. Weird.

Hi there!
I am checking in with a new workout called "CXWORKX." I think the "CX" stands for 'core.' It was ok, it hits your midsection from all angles and it gets other muscles involved, too. It used a weight plate and resistance tubing. I am not crazy about tubing work outs, but this was OK. It was 30 minutes and I would do it again on a lighter day. I think it's good to strengthen the core, it keeps back issues at bay.

It was in the 80s here, so I went for a long walk, too. I think some severe storms are making their way here, bring cooler weather in its wake.

My kitchen is being remodeled this week, so I have to get creative with food this week. LOL

Sitting here watching Dancing With The Stars. I like Jodie, Paige and Ginger. Ginger may be my favorite this year.
The Maltese is sitting on the right arm of my recliner, the Maltipoo on the left. Quiet evening at home. Should have walked this evening when I got home, but had some stuff to do. I guess it is OK to miss a day ever now and then.
