working out for Disney

A better photo of yesterday's meatloaf. I used crushed pork rinds instead of bread crumbs, helping to cut back a bit on carbs. Worked well and did not affect the flavor and maybe even enhanced it.

I thought your previous pictures were great, as well as this one. And, I like your coffee cups--very colorful. Actually, I enjoy all your food pictures, not just for the food, but you always have interesting plates and different place mats, etc. It's kinda like you "stage" the food pictures very carefully, before you take the picture. You should work for a food magazine! :joyfull:

Thanks. I snap the photos and share them with my brother. Kinda weird I know. So then I started posting some of them on here. Here is last night's dinner. Leftover meatloaf, fried egg, broccoli and grape tomatoes drizzled with ranch dressing. Only about six or so carbs.

Speaking of health... if they ever held a "bet you can't eat just one egg" contest... I would surely lose. Eggs are one of my favorite foods. Pass the ketchup please!

Hi guys!!! Sorry I've been awol!! :) I have been busy finishing my taxes-Yayyy!-, trying to get all my spring cleaning done before our trip in 35 days!! Getting so excited!!
We got to 70 too @epcotisbest ! It was gorgeous here. Got outside and finally got to walk instead of doing the dreaded treadmill. I have daffodils blooming too! Ready for spring!! :joyfull:
Yes, beautiful day! I have a feeling we are still in for some more cold to come, but spring will be here soon enough.

I exhibited some extraordinary willpower the other day when my wife came home with a few Krispy Kreme donuts leftover from a meeting she held. I did have half of one donut.
Half of a Kirisy Kreme donut. Not a whole donut, not a whole box full...but half a donut. This time last year I would have just said that was not possible, but the thing is that half satisfied the craving. Yes, I would have enjoyed finishing off the rest of them, but I enjoyed not caving to temptation too.
I love eggs too, fried, scrambled, etc...but I prefer hotsauce or salsa over ketchup.

Yup, quite popular at the North Carolina State Fair. I have been able to resist that because I don't particularly care for Krispy Kreme donuts. I call it a blessing!
I honestly never remember having a Krispy Kreme donut. Dunkin was the only one i ever lived anywhere near and when I was a kid we had local bakeries for such things.

Amazingly it is all the rage in the south. Krispy Kreme's originated here in North Caroline, yet I have yet to find a Krispy Kreme store in the immediate Raleigh area. There is one about twenty miles away, otherwise they are delivered to grocery stores in pre-packaged boxes. No way of knowing really how fresh they are as I've never in 5 years seen any delivered or even a delivery truck. But, love um they do! All of them are glazed and messy to eat, so I am not a fan. I think I have had one since I moved down here. There are a lot of Dunkin Donut places around though! Don't eat those much either. I can't remember when the last time was that I had any donuts at all.

The key to a happy Krispy Kreme experience is to get the donuts hot and fresh, while they are still coming off the fryer right after being glazed. The donut then honestly melts in your mouth in a warm, gooey, sugary mouthful of gazed goodness.
Krispy Kreme stores have a neon "Hot Now" sign that is lit up when they are making them fresh and it draws customer in the know in like flys to a bug zapper. The donuts are so hot employees box them with a wooden dowel because they are too hot to pick up by hand. Most will go right over to the sugar glaze waterfall and pick you up your dozen or two right after the donut comes out from under the glaze.
We once got a dozen on the way home and ate the whole box full before we made it up the driveway.
But, a Krispy Kreme at a grocery store or gas station that has been in the box awhile is just another donut. Try one that is still hot and gooey just off the line and it is a game changer.
Now we have one store near us that just leaves the hot now sign on all the time and they claim the donuts already boxed and in the display cases are still hot. Not the same thing and that is not the point of the hot now sign. The hot now sign is to let people know they can get them right off the fryer, freshly glazed, which again is totally different from any other donut.
If I could, I would stop every time we went by a store that had them hot. I cannot anymore.
