Good morning! Well it is now! It's cool, damp and a nasty front is going through, so I just wanted to pull the covers over my head and hide. Having things to do for my family I don't have that luxury! I'm so happy I didn't hide, I'm feeling sooooooooooooo much better after doing Yoga For Young Bodies and Radient Heart yoga. Stretching, twisting, moving and relaxing was just what I needed to get going. Thanks again to @Tiggerish this plank thing might be good for my middle, but @Sans Souci is right music is a must from now on. Cleansing smoothie and small salad for breakfast, mixed veggie salad with garbanzos for lunch, and for dinner I'm making assorted steamed veggies with a cashew, balsamic glaze (hoping to make enough for a few meals as I really like it, desert will be banana, berry "ice cream" (1/2 frozen banana, 1/2 cup frozen berries (I'm using a blue, black and red combo, but feel free to use any berries you have or like 1/2 cup of unsweetened almond, soy, rice or hemp milk 1/2 packet stevia and mix in a food processor until ice cream consistency you may need to add a bit more mile if your fruit is super hard) Keep warm, keep safe and keep moving forward.

Happy Birthday to your Hubby! @figmentfan423

It's been a rough week here, I had to put my baby girl, Tigger Cat down this week. My heart aches. 16 years of making my heart sing, my little chatty patty will be missed.

I am trying to get my head back in the game. Today for breakfast was avocado with black beans, corn and red onion with a sprinkle of vegan cheese. Lunch will be liquid a veggie smoothie with some berries for sweetness. Dinner is homemad pumpkin soup.

I was able to practice this morning but, meditaion is difficult.
Have a beautiful day all! Be kind to eachother.

May I (re)join?

I started doing yoga again over the weekend. I had to stop, because I had torn my trapezius in May (doing yoga!). I spent most of the summer in PT, so I stopped for most of the summer. I was still very active, but I missed my yoga. Anyway, I feel better for restarting, both physically and mentally. This time of the year is always a challenge for me. I have some trouble with the reduction in sunlight, I think this will help me though it. :)

Today I am going to a Yin practice, followed by some meditation. I am going to do some cardio, too. I've not decided yet, though.
So glad to see you back!

Here it is. Let me know if you have problems with the link and I'll find another one. I am stuck at 60 seconds right now. I should be on 90 but when I tried it it hurt too much so I have decided to give it a few more days at 60 and then try it again. I like them though, they work you all over.

The trick to an effortless plank is to make sure you stack bone on top of bone. Wrists should be directly under the shoulders and push out thru the back heels. Shoulder blades are drawn back and down. Make sure the hips are between the the shoulders and the elbows. Anything higher of lower will cause undue stress. Draw that belly button in and play a rockin song! There's a lot to think about. By the time you get everything in check your 5 minutes are up....lol

So sorry for your loss. We have gone through the the pain of loss with a very special dog who was the center of our childless home for 16 years. And a big, fluffy and full of life long-haired calico cat who went missing a few years ago. I decided she is just somewhere else bringing joy to another family, enjoying the rest of her days. Ever now and then I think I see her.

Drywall is a big job. We replaced a drop ceiling with drywall a few years ago in one room. The guy I hired to do it was highly recommended, but it turned out awful or I am too ticky one. Not as smooth as I would like and a couple of recessed lights are not centered...arrrghhh.
Good luck with the cleansing diet...it would take a truck load of juice and water for me, and a freezer full of Popsicles!

I just pulled up my local 10 day forecast and can we all scream BRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!! It doesn't look like it will get over 48 for that time period!:rolleyes::eek::eek::eek::(:(:(:banghead: With this in mind I might not get in as much outside walking as usual:mad::rolleyes::banghead::bawling: Time for us to start posting winter survival tips. 1-put a fun movie on to watch while working out on exercise equipment it makes the time go faster. 2- find fun exercise DVDs you won't feel all alone but nobody is there to stare. 3- Homemade soups, filling, yummy and lots less sodium than even the "healthy" canned ones. I put everything in the crock pot in the morning and almost no work, Pacific Natural Foods has a nice organic veggie broth I like to use as a base if I don't make my own 15 calories per cup and 140 mg sodium not too bad. 4= Air popped popcorn (organic is best) if you're cold and just feel like you need some carbs. Keep warm and please post any winter tips you might have.

Hi all! I am heading out of town tonight for the weekend to help with a spiritual retreat so I skipped my lunch so that I could leave work early. I normally do my two mile walk and my plank on my lunch break. I can sure tell I have missed my routine because I am exhausted. My lunch time walks really perk me up and give me the energy to get through the rest of the day. I am hoping that I can get all my packing done and cram in my walk before I have to hit the road this afternoon.
Weekends are always harder for me to stay on program and being out of town is going to make it doubly hard, but I have bought enough weight watcher and lean cuisine frozen meals for the weekend so that I can stay on program. I don't like eating those kind of things very often because they are 1. High in sodium and 2. Expensive. But sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do. I have also made side salads to go along with the meals and have packed fruits, veggies and other healthy snacks. So I have a plan now I just have to have the will power to stick to it. There will be all sorts of yummy treats around all weekend tempting me...and to make matters worse I am assigned to the snack room---ugh! I'll keep thinking healthy thoughts and about my upcoming WDW trip that I want to be at least 20 lbs light for. May the force be with me!
