Very thoughtful. What a nice surprise.

How sweet you are!!! Hope he totally loves it!!! Happy Birthday, Jim!!!!
Thanks guys! He loved everything and now he has an excuse to go out and get some gourmet coffee. Can't leave the new canister empty for long. As for the travel mug he wouldn't even let me wash it for fear I might "borrow" it.

A most excellent morning to all my friends. I'm still keeping up with my PS3 EA workout and I followed that with JM's No More Trouble Zones. I want to make sure I don't miss any muscle groups. So after a rather large meal last night I'm starting today with a mean green smoothie {spinach, cucumber, celery, ginger, lemon and garlic}, that should get things moving LOL, lunch will be a salad {lettuce, carrot, tomato, yellow squash, red onion and black beans} Sesame ginger dressing on top and dinner will be salad and leftovers, thinking toasted polenta and escarole. One of my friends wants to go walking this am and it's warm enough so as soon as the boys leave it's out and around my lake. It's funny every time one of my friends wants to lose they rush and starve and gain it all right back and then some, been there done that and have the clothes to prove it. . it took me quite a while but slow and steady wins the race. First thing to know is it's about health not squeezing into a size whatever. ok rant over, but it will be nice to have somebody to walk with. Just remember to keep moving forward.

May I (re)join?

I started doing yoga again over the weekend. I had to stop, because I had torn my trapezius in May (doing yoga!). I spent most of the summer in PT, so I stopped for most of the summer. I was still very active, but I missed my yoga. Anyway, I feel better for restarting, both physically and mentally. This time of the year is always a challenge for me. I have some trouble with the reduction in sunlight, I think this will help me though it. :)

Today I am going to a Yin practice, followed by some meditation. I am going to do some cardio, too. I've not decided yet, though.

Sometimes the positive encouragement here is just the encouragement needed for me to walk an extra half hour or try to eat better. Don't like the time change and it being dark when we get home, but until it is very, very cold, there is a local park we can walk and the path there is well lit. I think this time of year is a challenge for a lot of people, just know you are not alone.

Hey, guys! Can I join in here? I'm not technically working out for Disney, I am working out because I know I must, but I will admit that on days when I don't want to work out and or I want to eat junk I use our next Disney trip as a motivator. That trip in June in all that heat and 50 lbs overweight (or is that a foot under tall) was a killer! I want to feel better and have the energy to match my excitement next time.
So anyway, I have joined weight watchers on line (going on my 3rd week) and am walking on a treadmill 2 miles every day....actually I am up to almost 2.5 miles now....and I am doing the 30 day plank challenge. I think it is going to take me 60 days actually, but that's ok with me.
Figgy...I saw your question about salad dressings. I would like suggestions for low fat/fat free salad dressings as well, but for now what I do some times is squeeze fresh fruit juice over my salad. Orange, tomato....whatever I have on hand.

I am about a foot and a half under tall and I'm 6'3" gotta drop about 80lbs and it is so hard, but not being alone in the pursuit is a nice thing.
Lots of positive motivation here on this thread and it does make a difference having others encourage you. Welcome and keep on keeping on!

Yes you are more than welcome, we're always happy to have people give us hope and tips. Every little bit helps! I love fresh fruit juice on my salads and I make sure to eat at least one salad a day. I've been on a roll lately putting fresh orange juice, ginger, wasabi onion and garlic with a tsp of toasted sesame oil on them. Loving sesame oil as a tsp gives more flavor than a tbsp. of any other oil. Here's my I feel like a bad girl but have to be a good girl cole slaw, just take some bagged cole slaw and in a blender combine an apple 1 tsp cinnamon more or less to taste and a packet of stevia and top the mix. Apple pie salad. BTW we usually go in June and my dh went down 20 pounds lighter this past trip and really noticed how much better he handled the heat. Good luck!

Here it is. Let me know if you have problems with the link and I'll find another one. I am stuck at 60 seconds right now. I should be on 90 but when I tried it it hurt too much so I have decided to give it a few more days at 60 and then try it again. I like them though, they work you all over.

I can hold a plank for a long time, but I've never tried doing it for 5 minutes. I think I would get bored. I love a challenge, I might try this. With some choice tunes, I might be able to get to 5 minutes.

Thank you for sharing, I'm a glutton for punishment so as of today you're not alone. It's not like I'm adding another full routine. One minute is a long time, don't give up you'll get there in your own time.
