Woody's Lunch Box

If I had to guess a conspiracy, it’d be that they take forever to make from scratch, which is how they were preparing them.

I’d rather have no sandwich than premade sandwiches, so I guess this is the best of a bad situation, but it speaks volumes about why a quick service window is not satisfactory to support an entire land’s worth of hungry quests.

They could bring the Cafe Orleans version here instead of a ham and cheese sandwich...
I think I mentioned this earlier but if you go to any cheddars, there is one to rival the cafe orleans version. Having said that, two parks serving the same named item albeit in different theme parks, there should be some similarity between them.

why didn't they just calculate this into building the place...(kitchen size staff size windows etc).....oh thats right. no excuse for poor planning.

We have no information to say that the location was poorly planned. The omission of one sandwich from a menu does not mean the location was poorly designed. Given the number of dining options in DHS, as well as the upcoming SWL, I'd say the size of the lunchbox is appropriate.

You would think, but then again this is QS compared to TS at DL, right?

The poor design IMO was the absence of covered of indoor seating. Pizza Planet food was never great but at least you could get out of the sun and sit down.

Agree, I feel like the people who designed this eatery forgot their location. FLORIDA, where it is very hot 6 months of the year and rains a lot.

This is correct Disney said it wasn't selling well so removed it.

I’ll say this for what it is worth. Yesterday I was with the cast member at the front of the food line at Woody’s Lunchbox. While there, a guest came up and asked where the Monte Cristo was and was devastated when told it was removed.

I asked what happened and the cast member - who has worked at TSL since it opened - said that it was becoming the most popular item on the menu. She said that the process for making them has them making 8 sandwiches at a time. The problem started when people started asking for changes to the sandwich. To keep up with supply they can’t make one sandwich at a time soon it became difficult to keep up. It was slowing down the pace in the kitchen so they discontinued it.

Agreed but just don't name it that to avoid confusion of fans of both parks. I don't know how long the DL one has been around but I was definitely hyped to try it for at least a few years purley based on word of mouth.

We ate at Woody's during the first week after TSL opened. Tried several things from the menu, including the Monte Cristo and the Tater Tots. Tots were the big winner for our group, hands down.

Lack of shade and lack of tables make this a one and done for us.

What is the QS restaurant nearest to the Lunch Box... the ABC Commissary? The farmers market on sunset? It seems like that side of the park really, really needed a more substantial dining option then Woodys. And it would have helped with the crowds at SWL dining locations. Woodys is emblematic of just how inadequate and underwhelming TSL is.

Was there even room for something more substantial? Id like to see at least a bigger covered seating area, if not a fully enclosed building. Maybe a phase 2? Marie

If there’s one thing TSL had, its room. The land wastes huge amounts of space. They could have fit a great deal more in the area.

As for a Phase 2, I would be very surprised if there are any additions to the area. It seems more likely it will eventually be torn out for more SW. In general, hoping for a phase 2 from WDW almost always proves futile.
