Quick question: I couldn't help but notice when I search for "Wondrous Journeys" in the Disneyland app that there are two entries: "with Fireworks" and "with Projections". Over the weekend the "with Fireworks" had showtimes, but "with Projections" did not. Today, it has been reversed..."with Fireworks" has no showtimes, but "with Projections" is at 9:30pm.

Is there a difference? Are the fireworks removed or toned down for shows during the week?
On January 31, it (with projections) will be shown at 7:30pm due to Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts Nite event.

Regardless of that, it may be the opportunity to see the clean soundtrack of Wondrous Journeys without any sounds of pyro.

No…. They designed attractions. Just like Davison does. They are all imagineers and they are all the best of the best.

I suppose I don't understand why they're even a part of this conversation, as Davison's work has nothing to do with Baxter, Rohde, and Rafferty.

Davison was definitely among the greats 20 years ago but now? His shows are tired, formulaic, predictable. Give me a Davison show that isn't a clipshow with The Little Mermaid and Pirates thrown in and maybe I'll cut the dude some slack. For every good thing he's done he's done something mediocre or lousy.

Heck, he took Disneyland's beautifully produced Fantasmic- which had a soundtrack almost entirely recorded for the show- and turned it into a weird clipshow mishmash of Tokyo F!, World of Color, and the original show. All while leaving out any kind of soul that defined the original production.

He definitely has his fans, I'm just not one of them. But I also don't think Disney parks have built something truly great in about a decade so maybe I'm not the target audience.

Just finished watching a livestream of this show sans-fireworks from Main Street, and it is exactly that: all pyro removed, but everything else intact (including Blue Fairy, Baymax, and the flamethrowers). Obviously much better with fireworks, but the projections and music hold their own for now.

This also did get me thinking that this show would be just as strong if on non-pyro nights they chose to use drones with the show instead. I'm imagining the drones forming the iconic pixie dust arch on the castle in the beginning, continuing the path of the manta ray during Grandma Tala's singing, a giant butterfly in "Dos Oroguitas," etc.

Here from Micechat non-pyro version of Wondrous Journeys. This is exactly how clean soundtrack of the show would be released. However. you may spot It's a Small World fanfare when narrator begun his speak about 100 Years of Walt Disney Animation Studios.

I wish they could use drones. But considering Anaheim doesn’t like fireworks every night during the off-season I don’t think the city (or the FAA or that matter) will let them do drones. But I do think drones are still on the table for Epcot since it’s not close to any residential areas and they already did a drone show in Disney Springs a few years ago.

I don’t think I can say this enough, but it truly is surreal and even weird seeing so many rare Disney characters and movies in a big production like this. Even the score from The Lion King that’s used in the show is very strange, to me, at least.

On another note, who do you think they’ll send flying through the sky in the next firework show?
For their Halloween villains show, each of the major Disney villains will be wired up to recreate their falls to their deaths.

Okay thanks to the help of TikTok, the vocalist for Belle is made obvious, and I CANNOT BELIEVE I MISSED IT.

The voice of Belle is one of my favourite vocalists, and broadway stars, the incomparable Shoshana Bean. If you know her voice, it's unmistakable.

Someone take my gay card away from me, I hath failed.
The same Shoshana Bean who played Elphaba in Wicked??? Is it? I had t noticed either!
