Morning Jenny
Wow! :sohappy: I bet they're excited! How are you Steph? I just realized this morning my kids' spring break starts next Friday!![]()
Wow! :sohappy: I bet they're excited!
I'm good. We started looking into our honeymoon last night...we want to get it booked in the next week, since we're going over New Year's. We're running into some snags so are trying to think of alternatives. :brick:
Well, it's not that nothing's available. It's just...we were basically counting on using DF's points from all of his work travel for the airline tickets and hotel. Well, we've used some of them recently but still thought we'd be fine since he typically travels quite a bit and we still have awhile. Well, they just repositioned everyone in his company and now he won't be traveling anymore at all! :brick::brick:Nothing's available? What alternatives are you considering?

He has enough hotel points for about 5 nights, but we're on our own for the airlines. We were wanting to do Cancun but the flights are $1300 each!! :dazzle: I realize it's our honeymoon and should be a special trip, but just for flights alone that just seems like alot. DF keeps saying that this could be our last vacation before we have kids too, so we should go somewhere extra nice too while we still can. I see his point but geez. So I suggested maybe we should do a Florida trip. We're taking 10 days for the honeymoon so I said we could rent a car and just tool around to different places down there; Miami, Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, Disney (of course). It's not quite as spectacular as he had in mind, but it would be alot more affordable and I think would still be alot of fun. I just don't want to break the bank right off the bat, after paying for a really expensive wedding.

Morning Dot! :kiss:Oooo!
We did a trip where we flew into Ft. Lauderdale, drove down into the Keys, stayed a while in Key West (LOVE it!), then drove through the Everglades and up the Gulf Coast stopping at places along the way. We stayed a couple of nights in Ft. Meyers, then drove to WDW and stayed there. It was a great trip! You could also incorporate the Tampa area and St. Augustine into the mix. We've been to both and they're awesome!
:lookaroun
Good morning.
food poisoning???Yikes - I wouldn't want to pay that for a flight either! I think anything you would do for a honeymoon would be special, just because it is your honeymoon. And the fact that it's over the holiday season is probably why it's so expensive.
We just rented a cabin for a few days, but it was nice. Aside from my food poisoning incident at the end....but never mind. :zipit:
Love you Kristin, miss you!!!! :kiss:Hey guys. Just wanted to say hello and say I'm sorry for not being around much. Tax season is in full force, which means DH is monopolizing the computer every night. It's harder to get on at work b/c I'm actually getting busy again (which is a good thing!)
I did read about Jenny staying at POFQ (Yayness!!) for her July trip and Vince being a newly minted CM. Hopefully everyone is doing well and will continue to do so. DS has to have surgery again on April 1 for another set of ear tubes and to remove his adenoids, which will hopefully help reduce the amount of ear infections he gets. I've been pretty upset about that.
Have to go throw the kids in the tub. Love you guys!

I know, there are so many neat places to see in Florida where we've never been. And as far as Disney, I would be happy even with 1 night there...I would LOVE to spend NYE there and see the perimeters! And the Swan & Dolphin are both Starwood hotels so we could even use our points for that night there too. I think it would be a great vacation, but I also see his point in that it's a vacation that we could do with kids eventually. :veryconfu

Hey Katy!! :kiss:Morning all. I am just popping in to say hi. I have a ton of work to do. If things slow down this afternoon I will be back to chat. I have missed out on alot!
Oooo pretty!!!!Sorry I disappeared....needed my shower.
yeah, food poisoning...like I said we rented a cabin, so we think some of the food went bad. It had a little kitchnette with a mini-fridge, and I think it didn't keep things as chilled as they should've been...
On the positive front, before that we went to Ash Cave together and it's this large sandy-covered cave that has a small waterfall you can walk behind. It was a wonderful experience to have devotional time there together. Special moments are what make the memories on a honeymoon, more so than the location.
Hello Dot and Katy!
Edit: Here's a pic of Ash Cave:

Hey Katy!!
Oooo pretty!!!!
Oh, I wanted to tell you that we saw the end of some countdown on VH-1 about the top 100 songs that defined the 80's. #1? 'Living on a Prayer' by Bon Jovi! :sohappy::sohappy: I wish I had seen the whole thing.
WOOHOO!!!! :sohappy::sohappy:Isn't it? I know the pic isn't that great quality but there are people down there right behind the waterfall. That's the one trail in the Hocking Hills area that is handicapped accessible, because the path to get there is flat.

:drevil:You should probably know by now what my #1 80's song is. (Hint: Composed by Alan Silvestri. :lookaroun)
