Firework shows aren't a great draw for me. But I don't dislike them.

I saw Happily Ever After and...it didn't completely wow me. But I don't know if I should have expected it to? I had seen Disney's fantastic projection work before. That is impressive to me, certainly.

But I think I left the show early...it didn't grab my attention so much that I felt I had to catch it all.

Our party watched the Halloween fireworks at MNSSHP, then watched HEA the night after for the first time. Leaving the 360° portion out, everyone enjoyed HEA more. Yeah, the music wasn't the best, but put together, our opinions were that HEA was an amazing show and better than the party. I did enjoy Wishes too, but think I enjoy HEA more.

With Wishes, you could argue the overall story was "better", while technical wise, HEA is superior. Both shows are great. They're both very different. I don't begrudge anyone missing Wishes but because you liked one better doesn't make the new one "bad." HEA really is a fantastic show. But I get the nostalgia of Wishes tugs on the heartstrings. And it's fine to prefer JUST fireworks, I get it. But I like what we have now. Even though I also really liked Wishes. If you go in expecting the same feeling you had when you watched Wishes, you're going to be let down because you won't let anything else compare, and I get that, nothing wrong with that. The only problem I have is some don't state their opinion as an opinion, they act as if because they don't like it, it's inferior, and this show is far from inferior. (And that goes both ways)

I loved Wishes and miss it a lot, but I also really enjoy HEA as it is amazeballs start to finish. I just wish they would bring back Wishes from time to time, like once a month/quarter or on Tuesdays or whatever. That show really did pull on my heart strings.

Holiday Wishes in many ways feels like Wishes.
You’re right, it does have a bit of that Wishes feel. However, for me I always felt it was a bit of a let down when Holiday Wishes began because it doesn’t have the emotional power that Wishes had...for me personally anyway. I mean my favorite time of year in the parks is always around Christmas but I always looked forward to regular Wishes coming back too when the season was over. I’m just happy that HEA is as awesome as it Is. it really is an amazing show.

In my opinion, it’s probably because of the removal of the “Christmas All Around Us” motif during certain segments of the show - but certainly not the finale. Just irks me only because it feels like some random ending with fan service to Wishes, instead of them taking that theme and building it up to that trademark emotional climax. (Listen to the soundtrack, and compare to the show today)

does anyone know whether they'll be showing HEA or holiday wishes on the christmas week after the final party night? it's our first visit since the new show so we're kinda hoping we get to see HEA

Wish granted.

I’m more shocked that they didn’t create projections and add the new lights and effects to these special party fireworks. Before it was a perk to get these special shows, now you have the regular show far outshining those.

Disneyland has upgraded all their offerings with the castle projections and spotlights... come on Magic Kingdom, do better.

Yes to all of this! The way they scattered it throughout the show wove it together so well. Hearing “Christmas all around us” and then ending with the fireworks all around us. Just beautiful. The cuts feel even more glaring when HEA runs at 18+ minutes long.

Never mind that HEA is the show to beat now; due to the lack of the aforementioned bells and whistles in the holiday fireworks, it’s no longer out of the question for a completely packed Main Street on regular nights. For example, this past Saturday...

I was there that night and it was not fun, especially when the show ended and everyone was going every which way. Not to mention I had tourist talking NONSTOP during the whole show all around me.

Wouldn't have more to do with HEA not running every night because of the parties? I remember for a few years in the mid 2000's, esp. the first year of Castle Dream Lights Wishes ran at 6 on party nights. HEA should be doing that because it's brand new, and so good!

For sure! But regardless, the special fireworks need to be upgraded.

Halloween Screams, Believe in Holiday Magic, and Remember... Dreams Come True have all had the projections and beams of light added.

How hasn’t MK done this all yet for their variety of fireworks they show? I even think the New Years fireworks last year at Disneyland had projections and spotlights.

MK's Fantasy In The Sky NYE did have the OUAT Spotlights last year, We'll see what happens this year.
