Let's be thankful that we're getting an actual Theme Song!!! DLP just posted the opening scene from Disney Illuminations(Computer Animated) and DLP got SDL's Ignite's Theme: A Dream Is A Wish! Why is recycling so popular now?!?!?! Even TDL used SDL's Ignite's Frozen segment for Frozen Forever ! They didn't even do a full Let It Go for a Frozen Show! I don;t get it!

What is the likelihood of guests who visit DLp visiting Shanghai? Pretty slim!

The Dlp 25th show was always going to use Ignite material - surely everyone was expecting that?

Besides, Ignite is a great show - why not bring it to Europe.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not the biggest fan of recreating stuff I'm parks (star wars land being the same on two coasts of the same country, I'm looking at you!) But on this occasion I won't complain. It's the same with Once Upon a Time coming from Tokyo to Florida... Again, the likelihood of an Orlando regukar hopping a plane to Tokyo is probably in the less than 1% bracket.

Besides, listen to the music from Magical at Disneyland... Was originally used at EPCOT and TDL. Cinderellabration - Tokyo and parades from Paris in the early days used music from Partygras parade.

Oh... And the theme song for the new show is actually the theme song from HKDL 10th anniversary - happily ever after. The song can still be heard at HKDL during the Mickey and the Wondrous Book show.

Just listened to it... very bland. The lyrics also make little sense, but nothing outweighs the level of nonsense that is the lyrics to Once Upon a Time ("Once upon a time is up to you", grammatically incorrect and makes no coherent sense). I feel like with some of these new songs the lyrics are formulated in ways that make extremely little sense, and I have to wonder if it has to do with the fact that they were originally played in a country where English isn't the primary language?

I also very much dislike the vibe of OUAT and HEA: retelling Disney stories.

Shows like Wishes and Celebrate the Magic feature Disney characters and songs as well and certainly aren't about the parks in the way that RDCT at DL is. To me they still are more about "Disney" as a whole and like "this is where Disney comes alive" instead these news shows say "this is where we retell Disney movies". There's a fine line but I feel there is definitely a distinction to be made. And these new shows therefore have much less charm.

EDIT: I realized I think it is because the new theme songs' lyrics are explicitly about the movies while the previous shows are more about Disney/being at Disney etc. Also, playing ripped movie clips on the castle doesn't help.

Couldn't agree more. The modern nighttime Disney show has become somewhat of a display of highly bedazzled movie clips one after the other (see Disneyland Forever). However, I will say that Disney Dreams in Paris does the best job of making this formula work. But what I love about Wishes is that it centers the movies and characters around a central theme: the power of a wish. We hear the wishes of the heroes, then those of the villains, and ends with a call to believe in the power of our own wishes. It's a little cheesy, but it's incredibly moving and exudes that feeling of magic that you're supposed to feel at Disney.

Obviously I have a fondness for Wishes, but I am still really optimistic about Happily Ever After. If it can feel more like Disney Dreams and less Disneyland Forever, I think it will be a worthy replacement.

I am not going to read 31 pages so if this is old news please delete. Been out of the country for a bit. Anyway at midnight sharp, a few minutes ago, I heard then saw a fireworks show at MK that is new to me. The MK closed at 10. I will guess it might be a test for the new show. I live close to the park but of course did not hear the music or see any projections or lasers. If it is the pyro for the new show it is a winner. New colors. Impressive. Did not time it as it caught me by surprise.

Yes. They have been recycling music and themes since my childhood. It is nothing new at all. The DL is Your Land theme wound up leaving DL's 25th in 1980 and moving to WDW for the Tencennial in 1981 ... and was then used for the opening show at TDL in 1983. Just tinker with the lyrics a bit.

I wish there were more unique stuff from a selfish perspective. Especially since in the next six months I will visit every Disney resort in the world with one exception. And I will wind up seeing DLP's new show before I see SDL's show ... but I just expect the cut and paste approach. And I am a Faux Top One Percenter as everyone here knows! Most people won't be visiting multiple resorts.

Border patrol let you back in?!?!:D:mad:

I believe what you saw was the show I witnessed in person last Friday night. It is for a DVC private party and called Moonlight MAGIC. It really impressed me. You can find the show on YouTube.

I did like the pyro I saw. I passed Border Patrol by name dropping my new friends in DC. I am surprised you can even pass the security at the MK the way you talk about Georgie. :p

I walked outside at 1210 tonight just to see the tail end of the fireworks, and I saw them last week as well. I thought the fireworks were a winner, but they are not as long as they promised (threatened). This makes me wonder if the fireworks we've been seeing are the HEA show or something just for the DVC events. I did watch the posted video from last week's DVC event, and I thought the fireworks were great. The story was awful and makes me really sad to see Wishes leaving. Does anyone know if the show for DVC the last two Fridays is indeed a preview of HEA?

I doubt it as it's been mentioned the DVC show was similar at last year's events as well, with some minor updates of new movies.

Do they test the new fireworks shows at night? I would think if they did that someone at contemporary would just bust out their camera and record it from their balcony and we'd see it online. I also believe they have to alert surrounding areas if fireworks are going off at an unannounced time as not to alarm cast and guests.

Anyone know why they will keep running Once Upon A Time when Happily Ever After opens? Seems unnecessary. Happily Ever After will have everything that Once Upon A Time has plus more.
