If you're looking for a storyline and narration, it's in there. It's all the spoken parts (and arguably the lyrics composed for the show, "Happily Ever After"). To wit...

Introduction: Desiring the Dream

Narrator: And they all lived happily ever after.
Each of us have a dream, a heart’s desire, it calls to us,
and when we’re brave enough to listen, and bold enough to pursue,
that dream will lead us on a journey to discover who we’re meant to be.
All we have to do is look inside our hearts and unlock the magic.

Boldly Beginning the Journey

Merida (spoken): Your destiny lies with you you just have to be brave enough to see it and then your journey begins

Friends on the Journey

Aladdin (spoken): Trust me, having a best friend by your side opens up a whole world of possibilities

Love is the Journey

Olaf (spoken): Some people are worth melting for

Overcoming Adversity

Emperor from Mulan (spoken): The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all.40 seconds: Villain Instrumental from ???

The Heroes' Happily Ever After

Mufasa: Look inside yourself. You are more than what you have become. Remember who you are.

Conclusion: Find Your Own Happily Ever After

Narrator...
And so our journey comes to an end
but yours continues on
grab hold of your dreams
and make them come true
for you are the key to unlocking your own magic
now go, let your dreams guide you
reach out and find your happily ever after

I can assure you the soundtrack has perfectly balanced levels when listened to in isolation.

Now, about that new light parade. Let's not forget (though some would want us to) the MK still has a huge entertainment gap. As it stands this is the only nighttime entertainment proposed for the next four years.

Do you think they are hoping though with this show that people will just forget about a light parade? Have a feeling they would love to not have to spend to build and operate one at all 50th or no 50th,,and they are banking on this filling the gap (one we all know exists, but general tourists not so much) and no one will care over the next few years? Thats my concern that this show is going to be so popular, they will sweep any light parade plan under the rug as if one never existed here prior.

I think there's more than a grain of truth to that thought.

A new light parade is still budgeted to be ready for the 50th.

Maybe because they are willing to run fireworks in considerably-worse weather conditions than DL? Dunno. DL cancels fireworks if someone sneezes powerfully-enough to produce a gust of wind.
It's probably because they don't have control over the land around DL like in MK. If somehing blows off property they are liable. But I'm still upset that I missed DL Forever because of some wind. :(

The duet isn't "horrible". It's actually well done by talented artists. It's just not everyone's cup of tea, so to speak. No need to say it's "horrible" ...

And we all well know they aren't poor. They could afford both a night parade and HEA but they likely had a set budget (which is silly of arguably the most attended park that rakes in the money) so they choose one massive fireworks spectacle instead of a parade and a less impressive fireworks show. Too bad they couldn't do both (we know they could have), but I'm very very happy with HEA. It just seems ridiculous they will be going 5 years without a nighttime parade. It shouldn't be one or the other. Just like how they replace one character meet and greet with another. I'll never understand their budgets.

Well to be fair, although they had Fantasmic as a backup, Disneyland went 18 years without a night parade (not counting DCA's electrical parade run.) Although I'm not a fan of not having a nighttime parade in MK, I'm pretty sure if Disneyland can last 18 years without a night parade we can survive until the 50th in 2021 which is only 4 more years away.

I definitely hope the studio version of HEA (entire show) comes out.

Does anyone know if there's a studio version of the Go The Distance duet from HEA? I actually love their voices together, even more than Jordan and Angie's who aren't so bad themselves.

That's not really the point though. Disneyland shouldn't have gone 18 years without one and there's no reason the MK "can't afford one". But I know what you're saying.

I agree kinda, but personally I wouldn't call it horrible cause I don't mind it that much. They do sound much better at the end though and I LOVE the gospel (?) choir finale. Gave the show some soul IMO. Just sounds so fresh and lively.

Is it the same pair of singers at the end? They sounded different to me, definitely better

This is neat to see written out.

I was wondering what the story was. It's just a series of inspirational quotes, perfect for our soundbite culture. If anything it's a move away from "magic" and more towards (secular) humanism. You make your own magic.

Or perhaps its best not to overthink it ;)

It's pretty similar to the "movements" in Wishes.
