If the movie is a hit, she will be. If not, she'll join the ranks of Kida, Elionwy, Esmeralda, Meg, Maid Marian as an "unofficial" princess.
Raya is in this weird gray zone where she's sometimes marketed as a Disney Princess but hasn't officially been coronated or anything.

She's on the official Disney Princess website, so I'll take that as being official but she may be one of the lesser princesses which aren't on all the marketing

I don’t know if we know for sure that he’s her father.
She is a “princess”, whether or not she becomes a “Disney Princess” will hinge on the films commercial success.

I didn't know you had to reach a certain financial milestone to become a "Disney Princess", even if the word "Princess" is in your official title. Fascinating.
So if a movie about a Princess goes straight to Disney+, does that mean she's really only a Countess or Baroness?

If you’re uber successful, you skip the “Disney Princess” altogether and get to stay within your own franchise. Like Anna & Elsa, they are not and have never been “Disney Princess”.

Well, Ariana Debose says she is more of heroine than a princess. But It’s possible that she might become a princess from the princess franchise.

The Disney Princess line is all about popularity/financial success. I agree.Disney needs to hurry up and release the second trailer of Wish or else it’ll flop as bad as Strange World!
