I thought he did wear a blue(or at least a similar cool color) jacket in Curse of Black Pearl. What's your problem?

You are right. I had to look up pictures on the net and he does wear a blue jacket in the film. Remember I did say that I could be wrong about this and I was.

I wonder if the low lighting level in the battle scene, along with the distance from the boats, maybe figured into the lower level of detail on Barbossa. In fact, it looks as if all they did was put new skin on the old captain. He's not an A100 AA.

Toss him in there, add some new audio so it's clear who he is supposed to be, and there ya go. You get the point across without spending MAJOR money on another A100 in an area of the attraction where an A100 would potentially be a little wasted anyway.

Personally, I think a great place to see two pirates dueling would be on the bridge! Might be even funnier when you think about it, given that there is
a drunken pirate sitting there with his leg hanging over the edge already!

That makes sense. Smart move Disney! :sohappy: Great way to save money, yet give the detail needed! :sohappy:

i really dont see them adding will and elizabeth before the third movie comes out. i mean look how long they had to close it down just to put in the jack, barbossa and davy jones additions. would they really close it down again a year later just to add more AA? i mean would they really need to even TRY to promote the movie? unless this one bombs i guess. i think im going to like the refurb, but any more additions, especially so soon, and it might just seem like awhole new ride. id at least like to be able to enjoy the new ride, before they go and add even more to it.

also, i thought they announced that they were absolutely not going to make anymore movies based on rides? like i thought that was an official announcement. but maybe that was eisner who said that... im not sure. i think a jungle cruise movie could be good, as long as they make it serious ala POTC!! HM was.... allright, but i guess i was expecting more of a POTC type movie. i never saw country bears but i had no interest in doing that. if they do make a movie based on jungle cruise, they could then maybe update the ride! id be all for that, becuase the ride, with the same speil by the CM has gotten old.

Jungle Cruise is a classic that doesn't need a change to it. Maybe they could shake up their comic routine, but it doesn't need to be turned into some half-baked thrill ride. I think I'll enjoy the Pirates of the Caribbean revamp, but if they ever touched The Haunted Mansion, I would be mad, especially if they replaced Elanore Audley's haunting Madame Leota with squeaky Jennifer Tilly. I don't think I could take Eddie Murphey even being in there because if it is supposed to be Liberty Square why is there a character from the 21st Century on the ride??? They need to leave the old rides alone. I can handle Iago and Zazu in the Tiki Room, but if The Haunted Mansion was seriously redone, I think Walt would turn in his grave, but that's my opinion.

Disney would add the new AA's to help promote the new film, not because they needed to, but because they can.

The thing is, that even if they announced that they weren't making any new movie-ride crossover films, Jungle Cruise has long been in development. An announcement came long before anyone was quoted saying that there wouldn't be any more films made on rides. Also, they have been working on a new Swiss Family Robinson movie with Lindsey Lohan. Let the remakes and ride crossovers continue until they run out.

I remember seeing a pretty funny movie poster once (fake of course) for a Monorail movie! In fact, I also saw one for Autopia once. Imagine that!

Haunted Mansion will be redone but not with movie characters. The original updates being made to the one in Disneyland would be perfect. Small, creative updates over time are crucial to attractions and WDW remaining fresh.

I really don't think that the movie needs the promotion from the ride. I think it is the other way around : they are using the movie to promote the parks. I knew this film was going to be big, but I can't remember a summer blockbuster getting this kind of publicity and hype in a long time.

And not just Disney pub, but from everywhere. I really hope expectations do not get so high where a lot of people are left disappointed

I think they know that Disney knows that they cant touch the HM by adding the movie to it. They know they can add more effects and stuff like that but nothing from the movie.

But the speil is never the same! That's the beauty of the Jungle Cruise...it's up to the Skipper to make it what it is. I'm all for a movie, but I'd be upset if they changed the ride drastically.

And I was just thinking last night that I felt bad for Orlando, what with all the hype over Johnny...I hope they do add him, and Kierra, to the ride!

I say, we start a campaign to have Maynard (Refer to this) transfered to WDW! :lookaroun

Then the Jungle Cruise wouldn't need an upgrade, just clones of him. He makes the experience better!

ure right sometimes the skipper does go off on his own and those have always been the best rides. but more often i get the same script. i would love to see that the skippers do their own thing more often or just a few new AAs like they are doing with pirates. dont get me wrong i would never want them to drastically change teh ride! i love the ride. but a little update wouldnt hurt it

Hehe, I love Maynard. Where can I sign?

I wish, but since he is an actual person, with an actual life, I wouldn't want to force him to move to Orlando. That just isn't fair and that would be taking it too far... We can only dream that someday, Maynard will grace our gates as a wacky cast member...

Exactly why I want to be a skipper :D And I suppose I could handle a few new AA's, as long as they fit (AKA, please no "Iago-in-the-Tiki-Room" type additions...)

Who said anything about being fair? :lookaroun

I'm glad they rehabbed the ride. I wish they'd rehab ALL the attractions. But only if they improve, replace stuff, and freshen them up. See it was a bad move to get rid of the talking skull and I'll never shut up about it. Why remove it and leave the area bare? It's my understanding that the projection isn't in the same place as the skull was, so it didn't need to go. I know some of you may think that it's petty, just like I think the backside of water or the butterfly jokes on JC are petty. We don't all appreciate the same stuff, but did the skull actually hurt anything? Also it's a shame that they got rid of the naked woman in the barrel, but at least they put somebody in her place. Maybe I'll chill after I ride it and if I appreciate the projection enough to let the skull go.

Eisner says that the Imagineers should have added Stitch, Ellen Degeneris, and Bill Nye to the ride instead. He says it would have made the ride hipper and relevant with today's audiances.
