Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann AA's to be added to PotC Next Year

While I would have liked to keep the skull, from what I heard before the rehab began, the rehab is suppose to retcon that the voice saying "Dead Men Tell No Tales" was always Davy Jones, and now the projection is saying it. It would be odd for both Davy Jones who is right there and the skull to say it.

Of course, not too much more odd than about 40 pirates singing in unison.

Eisner says that the Imagineers should have added Stitch, Ellen Degeneris, and Bill Nye to the ride instead. He says it would have made the ride hipper and relevant with today's audiances.

Eric Idle tops them all-the hipster of hipness that is in too many rides/attractions to count in various theme parks around the world (Pirates 4-D, Imagination, etc...)

I'm really excited about the addition of Will and Elizabeth and I hope that they do go through with it!!! I think that would be really neat for POTC 3!! I don't think they need to add 3 of each, one of each in a single scene would do it :)

I need more info on The Jungle Cruise movie before I can form an opinion about it. I didn't care for the Country Bears, and HM would have been better w/o Eddie Murphy (sorry but I just don't think that role was for him! ). Maybe if HM had come out before Pirates people would have liked it better but Pirates set the expectation really high!

I have not seen NT yet but i have heard nothing but good things about it!

They should add Will and Elizabeth to the auction scene. Retire the AA Walt called "the biggest bargain of them all" and place Elizabeth on the auction block with Will Turner looking to rescue her, that would be great. Leave "Scarlett" and leave the "We wants the redhead" chant except have Will start the familiar chant as a "distraction" for his rescue. Then have Elizabeth say something like "Sir, they want the redhead." Then have Will and Elizabeth join Captain Sparrow in the treasure room scene at the end. That would be really amusing.

Now to completely contradict myself, I hope they DO NOT add Will and Elizabeth to PotC. I feel they've plussed the attraction enough, doing, from what I've seen, a fantastic job of folding Jack Sparrow and Barbossa into the original ride. Don't meddle, leave well enough alone. Not to mention it doesn't make much sense to plus an attraction, reopen it and then shutter it again for another refurb a few months later.

I think you are going to find some opposition to that first paragraph :)

It is a very good idea though. I personally hope they go in another area, but your idea is very well thought out, IMO.

They should totally redo the showscenes of florida's version of pirates of the caribean and turn it into a dark ride based on the movie trilogy.

If they are going to make more changes to the ride next year I am really hoping for:

-More treasure at the beginning of the ride (including props from the film like the dead man's chest and the large container of aztek gold thats now in california's.)

-Add the shadow of the sword fighting pirates in the fort.

-Add real sword fighting pirates in the ride like the paris version

-Rework the lifthill at the end of the ride so that it is safe for guests to go up. The current exit area should become a new show scene and they could add some props on the lift hill as your going up.

-Talking Jolley Roger should be somewhere in the attraction. Either in the queue or in the ride itself.

-Include the villian of Pirates III (I think its some Chinese Sea Captain..not sure though) into the ride somewhere along with Will Turner and Elizebeth.

-Install the "pepper Ghost" effect that Marc Davis created for the Florida version of the attraction but was never used.

That is a little much for one attraction that is only so big. I think to start with, we have enough. If the new version does well, then we can look forward to more updates.

Yeah, that seems like a bit overkill, especially when it's a classic that people are already complaining about changing. However, moving the Jolly Roger to the queue sounds interesting. What is this Pepper's ghost effect? I've never heard of one planned for Pirates.

What is the Pepper's Ghost effect? A great effect would be the chill effect designed for HM that they never used. Use that in the cave scene in Pirates when you see Davy Jones and that would be great!
