So mods cherry pick factual controversial posts to remove without explanation here? Possibly after you hysterical persons are reporting them. Not very welcoming or democratic. I know it is their forum ultimately but yikes.

👎

Be careful, go against the grain too much and you'll be banned from replying like me in the WDW thread.

I want to make an adjustment/correction.

In my evening phone calls, and there have been quite a few, I have discovered that Governor Newsom did meet with Bob Iger.

I was sitting in a room with city, county and business folks, with no state representatives. What happened in that room felt like the State wasn't in the loop. It is possible that the TDA folks at the table, who were discussing their decision did not mention the Governor and his possible role.

After being so focused on Anaheim, I got some views from those outside that room, and now see that the Governor might have helped Mr. Iger make the tough call. As stated, TDA came in with a decision, we had to accept it as what it was, a decision, not a negotiation.

So I was just reviewing the Kenny-Kon Flyer for the mid-June Event, and saw this in the Q&A.

>>
Hopefully this doesn't get cancelled

Response -

At that point in time, if this event is canceled, then that means the COVID-19 has lasted quite a long time and so our world will have been turned upside down. Otherwise, we have faith that the US CDC will find a cure and means to minimize the risk and contain the outbreak, long before then. Ride On!<<

But... I thought Bob Chapek was CEO? 🤔

I got in a Lyft this morning and went to Disneyland, just in case I don't get to go for a few weeks or a few months. I did not go on Millennium Falcon: Target Run (still no desire to after three rides last June), but I did ride Pirates and Small World and Mr. Toad. I left when the driving rain soaked me to the bone and I just got home.

I'm wet and cold and tired, and I think it would be terribly ironic if I catch pneumonia and die from tromping through Disneyland in the pouring rain. But what a way to go! 🥴

TP2000 glad you got a fix before closure:cool:....and hoping you are not suffering ill effects....😏.
BTW went to order someone in another state some TP on Amazon.....and it was NOT available.....the hoarders have found a new source.... They best not mess with the supply of dark chocolate..... :cautious:

How long do you think it will be until the labor unions try to force Disney to reopen? I know they are being paid now but that can't last forever.

So i was here thinking about all these closures and asked myself a few questions

-What are all the Disney bloggers going to do now? Will we see video after video of them talking of closed parks?

- come 2021 will we see a boom in child birth? Will people finally have more time for bedroom entertainment, since everything is closing?

-Will people now find the time to do outdoor activities that do not include large crowds?
Hiking, camping, just plain old walking and exercising?

-Will more people turn into couch potatoes and sit in front of their tv? Will this boost streaming Services member count as an alternative to going out or will it hurt it because of budget concerns while not working?

What happens to everyday locations that have gatherings of 200 or more in tight places? I hear stores are jammed pack with long lines in some areas. Aren’t this everyday locations more likely to spread the virus?

How are we going to survive without Disney churros, dole whip, and the latest mouse ear and popcorn bucket?

Now why would you eliminate the dark? Dark is yummy and milk chocolate only good if eating it fresh while in Belgium.

I feel like I'm in some sort-of alternative universe. This is all just nuts.

Isn't it though?! I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this. This has surpassed the days after 9/11 even when we were all in shock. This has surpassed the bank panic of '08 for sheer financial stats. About the only thing I can equate it to is the gas crisis of '73 when you couldn't buy gas and how that panicked everyone then.

In happier news, after my tragic trip yesterday to Ralph's to buy a few things to make pate' with, I just looked on Amazon Fresh and realized how comparably priced everything is and how easy it could be to just have some groceries delivered to me. I had no idea it was so cheap, as I assumed they were selling grocery items at vastly inflated prices. Boy was I wrong! Why do I need to go down to the supermarket every week? Apparently I don't, and I'm going to give Amazon Fresh a try.

Ha! Great questions. I definitely think there is going to be a Baby Boom this next December and January, and that's a wonderful silver lining to all this!

As for the Disney Bloggers... I couldn't care less about them than I suddenly do now. How will they survive without blabbing into their iPhone and annoying everyone around them in line for Rise Before Dawn?

I've been thinking about it, and I'm going to focus on other stuff myself with Disneyland closed. I've got recipes I want to try, I'm enjoying my garden, and I need to Marie Kondo the spare closets very badly. I also now want to build both a bubbling bird bath and a butterfly pond for my garden.

I think this might be a really nice cleansing detox for many folks. And a good reminder that we can in fact survive without rising before dawn for a Boarding Group, or tasting the latest churro flavor, or buying an AP exclusive! plastic bucket made in China.

I'm suddenly looking forward to focusing on other things and simpler pleasures. Who knew?! :)
