FINALLY, WII HAVE A WII THREAD!!

In any case, the Wii is definatly the first on my list of next Gen-consols.
Call me old-fashioned, but I prefer innovation to high-def.

But it looks like I may have to put my dreams on hold, because every time I head to pick one up, there are huge lines and phones ringing off the hook with managers telling and retelling eager gamers that they currently have none in stock.

*sigh* But it's worth it.

i just can't swing that, its worth it but i can't justify over spending on it.

If that is indeed the case, the PS3 will outperform the 360 a great deal by next year graphically.

If you have no desire to use the machines for HD movie playback, then yes you can say that the PS3 is $100 more than the upper tier 360 with comparable stats. But you have to look down the road when you buy a video game system. And I expect that the Blu-Ray advantage will help the PS3 a great deal over the standard definition discs that the 360 is limited to.

I guess time will tell. I dont see the point of the PS3 being so much more powerfull, I guess it could be, we will see. My point is that the xbox kicked the PS2s butt in the graphics department, but that didn't stop the PS2 from being the #1 system. Its all about the software. I also dont think that Blu-ray will be that big of an advantage for PS3. If a game does need the extra space they can use 2 discs, it didnt stop Final fantasy from selling HUGE. Next X-mas we will see how this will play out.

As for now the 360 has the upper hand, most of the exlusives are now on 360 as well as PS3 (MGS 4 might be coming for 360 as well). As for graphics I dont see PS3 "killing" the 360. I have been waiting and I think I am going the way of the 360. I hope this generation is closer than the last, we will all gain from wii, PS3 and 360 doing well.

Alright so i was finally able to run across a wii on circuit city's web site in the form of an actual useable bundle. It was $300 for the wii and extra controller and nunchuck. I got my confirmation and now the website says sold out so im hoping they didn't oversell. But i will post my thoughts when i am finally able to play this thing.

Soooooo now im waiting for the wii. The fed ex site they use for shipping is not the typical one linked right to their website, it is something throuhg the cicuit city site that the tracking code won't work for unless you go though the email they sent me. Anyway, the tracking is terrible, i got an update at 10am today that the package left one of theri faciliies in PA at 2:30 am this morning. Needless to say this is far from live tracking. I'm hoping for the delivery today but im sure it won't be here till tomorrow. I NEED MY WII

Just make sure you have been doing your arm conditioning so you dont suffer a bad case of "Wii arm". Oh yea and hold on to that Wiimote tight, we dont want any broken windows or tvs!:lol:

Yeah i got my wiimote and nunchuck already so i have been warming up. Now the site says that it wont be coming till the 15th. The thing is only 3 hours away!! Ugg never use regular shipping with circuit city. Its some horrible fed ex shipping. I think they use a drunken turtle to send it here.

Well the drunken fedex turtle handed the package off to stoned usps turtle and the package arrived here this morning. "here" meaning work. my boss is very tempted to hook up one of our projectors and break out in a wii tennis match.

just got my wii i lie, i had common sense to preorder in october! - and it is the best out of my (fixed for the thrice time) 360 - but im not so fickle enough to suggest that im swayed by graphics. I have ordered the componant cable off of ebay *a cheap third party import ala ebay* And im getting stuck into zelda.

Dont get me wrong - i love my 360, and ill probably get a ps3, but imho this console war for me is about gameplay. PS fanboys and now xboxfanboys both need to realise that the console preference is down to game preference.

i.e - i play the wii for fun and general laugh, games are good solid platformers.

ps3 : well apart from final fantasy and gran turismo there really is not worth the money...

360: *meh* sok - i mean i like fps's as much as the next nerd - but its dire for most other types of gameplay.

i have too much uni work to do! when ive finished making a complete twit of myself infront of lecturers (ala after my exams in january) ill be sitting down properlly for a few 12 hour sessions )

imho the graphics of that standard are good enough for me - and the game prices will be kept down thing i like the most also is for me the pads are cheap as im holding off untill i go to new york next summer

I heard alot about the problems but i think for the most part people are just copying stories and trying to make them funnier. I have not been even close to it flying out of my hand and we had a prtty hardcore tennis game.

no :lookaroun tbh the people that are having problems are either :

lacking spacial awareness

or

have 'lubed up' their hands and are literally stupid enough to throw it at their tv's.

The wii remote doesnt really detect speed to a great extent. Anything that resmebles this is the sensor bar - but again its most minimal.... so throwing the remote at the tv or swinging it around by the wrist strap wont work :lol:

That said i did take down a low hanging christmas decoration in my office today...still won the grand wii sports play off however

Thanks for the info! I sure am interested in getting one. The price is great compared to the other competition ($600 for a PS3, or $400 for an X-box 360 where you have to spend at least another hundred for an internal cooling unit so it doesn't burn up?!?!?!?! )

But I did hear that Nintendo is recalling the controllers to give out new ones with a stronger wrist wrap.

But I do believe, you'd have to do something pretty extreme, or stupid to damage your T.V. or something like that.

Got my PS3 in the mail today. I've played Resistance and Madden so far and I'm overly impressed. The Playstation Store and FREE online gaming makes this system well worth the $$$ and the graphics on my HD set through HDMI really looks better than anything else I've seen. The built in Wi-Fi on my 60 GB has also worked very well. I have played two online games with Madden and I've had NO lag time (after I repositioned my Buffalo Router where it needed to be). After I get Tiger Woods, I don't think I'll be leaving the house much for the forseeable future

AUGH!!! *goes crazy and runs out to destroy all PS3s* I hate when people say things like that. Why would you say something is worth more money because it gives you something free? How do you know getting the cheaper thing and paying for the other part isn't better than paying more for free stuff? Just a thought.
