That would be fantasmic.
Why not?Updates from the parks!
EXACTLY.
Right....Has the 50 tics part been confirmed yet?
Disney doesn't need to offer free internet - Motel 6 does.
Exactly! You get what you pay for. Always bugs me when people say, well motel 6 has it free. Well then sir, go stay at the luxurious motel 6 and get off this crappy disney property lol.
So who wants to bet that Disney secures them now that they put it on the internet?
Using an unsecured wifi hotspot is potentially illegal...
"Experts in the United States believe that sometimes, such use of an unsecured wireless network may be considered an "unauthorized access of a computer" which is prohibited under Federal law and even theft of communications."

Several months ago, reports of the WiFi near the Beach Club lobby was open to the public as opposed to the traditional means of charging for it. While some speculated that it must have been in error and would only be temporary, recent reports not only confirm it’s still available in the common areas at the resort, but that resort staff has confirmed it was an intentional, permanent change in policy.
This has now appeared to carry over to other Convention resorts (which all offer WiFi in public areas such as the lobby and pool areas) as we have seen reports that the Contemporary Resort also makes WiFi available at no charge.
Taking it even a step further, multiple reports (and iPhone screenshots) have confirmed that there is free WiFi available inside Innoventions East at Epcot (see photo, courtesy of @jeff318).
There have also been reported free WiFi spots in other parks, such as near City Hall in the Magic Kingdom.
Note that this does not affect the wired internet available inside the resort guest rooms. Non-DVC guests will still be charged to access the internet from inside their rooms.
It is also worth noting that you may occasionally see an open network for TWDC Guests. While you will be able to connect to the network, chances are it will require a login as it’s intended for Cast Members and their direct guests only.
So who wants to bet that Disney secures them now that you put it on the internet?
Corrected. Didn't like it directed at me, as I did not break the news, I just found it.
That is reallya great deal. But why does the internet in the resorts cost $10 a 24hour period. Even the cheapest Motel 6's have Free Internet now.
Go for it!:lol:I might bring it with me just in case.
If I were a local, and Disney offered WiFi, I would SO be surfing Magic from FW West with a Coffee or something.:lol:Stupid question alert:
Why do we need wi-fi hot spots in the parks? I understand the allure of free wi-fi in hotel lobbys. Heck, in July this year I was one of about 100 people camped out in the Beach Club lobby with my laptop every night. However, why is there such excitement over the addition of it in the parks? Do that many people use their laptops in the parks? I frequently access the internet while in the parks but I do it through my BB. I understand the allure of getting stuff for free from Disney (a totally rare occurrence!) but I feel like I am missing something here....
People who have an iPod Touch can't use the internet or any internet-required apps (like wait times or whatever) without an open hot spot. Not many people are bringing full laptops but many devices can connect to the internet either to save on cellular data plan rates, or that don't use a cell connection. Also, international travelers often have to pay very expensive data roaming charges to connect via cellular connection on their mobile phone whereas a hot spot is free.Stupid question alert:
