Ok so let me first say I know Disney is not for everyone and not everyone is going to enjoy it or feel the need to go more than once in their lifetime...I get that, with saying that, I was on another Social media site, and seen someone say that they were going to Orlando today, a friend of theirs commented "oh Disney"....The other person replied with "oh god no, we hate it there and find it boring"!!! I then right there almost died!!! I guess the look on my face was enough for my hubby to say " are you ok"? Now I know like I said Disney isnt for everyone, But I truly got insulted, like it was a family member they were talking about!! LOl , pitiful arent I?? I then commented to this person " wow I cant imagine my girls hating to go there or find it boring , and we go twice a yr "!.. This person then replied with " well we took my son when he was 5 , he doesnt watch tv or movies so he didnt know any characters and found it very boring and so did i"... I was speechless and didnt want to say what I really wanted to, like where did you stay , when did you go, and did you just do one park?? Because this person is one of those people who calls the Magic Kingdom ,Disney world (yes that is one of my pet peeves)...So I simply just responded with an "ok gotcha"! I mean really I still am still flustered, lol!! I had to share because I know my fellow obsessed disney finatics would get me, or at least some of you...Now I dont expect everyone who has gone or not gone to love Disney, god knows I have my chops busted enough at work with my clients about it(although many of them just know and they get a kick out of it and usually ask when the next disney trip is) Whew I feel so much better!! Thanks for letting me vent!! And As a side note, really ,even if you never watched tv , everyone knows who Mickey Mouse is!!!! Like I said mentally I know I should not be insulted , emotionally I'm like  !!

I don't want to come off as rude, but I don't understand why people get upset or angry when people admit they don't like Disney. Who cares, so what? Everyone has different interests. If we all liked the same thing, it would be boring. It's nice that everyone has their thing. I like Disney, Universal, music, movies, books, shopping, the Lakers and the Dodgers. My dad hates both the Lakers and the Dodgers and the only Disney movie I've ever seen him take serious interest in and has a great love for is the Incredibles. Think I care? No. That's life.

I have a friend like that too - doesn't want anything to do with Disney/WDW. He'd rather go to Vegas or N'Orleans. I can appreciate that. But only the music and food aspect; he's also into it for gambling... And some other... Scenery. ;)

Whatever. One less person (at least) in the parks - more room for me! :D

Personally, threads like these I find quite bothersome.

It doesn't worry me at all that some people don't like Disney. Some people like seafood, personally I don't. Life would be pretty boring if we were all the same.
Nemo its been so long, I've missed your sunny personality, Sorry I bore you!

I can be defensive of Disney too. I just usually choose to keep it to myself.

Now when people criticize me because I love WDW, that's when I get really defensive. My cousin, for instance, went to WDW at age 5. She's 17 now. She got freaked out by the talking trash can and it traumatized her. So now she won't go back. But now she criticizes me because I love it. She says stuff like, "Why would you want to go there?" Or "You could go someplace better like the Grand Canyon ya know." And then she didn't get it when I said I really don't like doing the nature stuff. And then she brags how she's been places that I don't even care to visit.

But she looks down her nose at me anyway. That's the reason we don't speak very much except at family things. And even then I hang around my other cousin.

Yeah everybody is entitled to their own opinions. I have a co-worker (40's) who doesn't have kids and he has no interest at all in Disney and would rather go to Vegas. I'll be honest, if I didn't have children I probably wouldn't go as much as I want to. Now I love Disney World but probably 50% of my drive to save for it is my kids. To see their faces when they walk in for the first time will be priceless, but if it wasn't for that it just wouldn't mean quite as much. Now don't get me wrong I absolutlely love Disney but it just wouldn't be the same for me without my kids to bring.

I see where you are coming from, but think of it this way- The more people that dislike Disney World, the less people you will have to wait in line behind at Disney World.

Funny...that's the movie my uncle takes an interest in as well. But he likes coming to WDW once every year or every other year.
