yep...know just how you feel...
people at work ask why I go so much...even family members (brother and sister)...I just say.."if you have to ask, you don't understand.." I stop telling people that I'm going...just so I don't have to hurt anyone... :D

That is an excellent way to handle it and I think I'm going to use this method myself from now on!

I'm gonna' drag out my favorite quote about all a' this, yet again...
"For those that get it, no explanation is necessary. For those that don't, no explanation will do."
Ultimately, I don't give a rats bloated beeeeehind what other people think about my love and passion for Disney.
It's for me, it's my thing, it's what I love, it makes ME happy, and that's ALL that's important!!! :) ;)

But I think you may have missed the original tone of this thread, which was what spurned my reaction. The OP wasn't being criticized about her love for Disney: she instead was criticizing a stranger on another board who didn't happen to like Disney, and who mentioned it in a conversation to another stranger. My point, and that of others here, was that other people have a right to have a different opinion, and that it doesn't mean that there's something wrong with them if they don't share your particular obsession. To paraphrase another poster's quote - "It's none of your business"

Nope, didn't miss a lick. I was just sharing MY opinion and it wasn't directed at you or anyone else in particular.
How my post gave you, or anybody on here, the impression that I think any person who doesn't share my passion for Disney (or anything else, for that matter) dosen't have a right to a different opinon, has someting wrong with them, and it's my business to tell them so, I have not a clue.
Replace Disney with NASCAR, knitting, Tuvan throat singing, or whatever.
That's my point. I don't criticize others likes, passions or interests (not in front of them, anyway ;)) for exactly that reason...it's none of my "bidniss". And I don't give the aforementioned rodent part what people think of my likes, interests or passions, 'cause it's none of their "bidniss" either. :)

Not your post, the original post of this thread:
"I was on another Social media site, and seen someone say that they were going to Orlando today, a friend of theirs commented "oh Disney"....The other person replied with "oh god no, we hate it there and find it boring"!!! I then right there almost died!!! I guess the look on my face was enough for my hubby to say " are you ok"? Now I know like I said Disney isnt for everyone, But I truly got insulted, like it was a family member"

Spot on.

I'd love to go with my friends one day but even though they like theme parks I know it wouldn't mean the same to them as it does to me. And that's ok. If they aren't interested, I wouldn't want to convince them to be. Because if they can't naturally feel the way I do about it I wouldn't want to waste any time mixing my friends, who I love, and Disney, which I also love. It's not right.

If people like it, great, if not, just let me enjoy it and we're cool.

I know, I read it when it was first posted and went back and read it again twice after your reply to my post. It's obvious, to me anyway, that I completely understood what she was expressing while not necessarily agreeing with it all. I still don't see what it has to do with my post? What am I missing...?
In my post I was simply echoing what a lot of others have posted on this thread, as well. I love me some Disney and I don't care what others think about that. You ("you" being people in general) either "get it" or you don't, and I don't get insulted, fly into a fit of rage, pass out, or whatever over it if you don't "get it".

These threads always raise the same questions:

Can you believe this?
What is wrong with these people?

Yes, I believe that some people don't like Disney. It doesn't mean there is anything wrong with them.

It would be a very boring world (with very crowded parks) if everyone was the same.

people just aren't happy @luv

The original post had nothing to do with what others think, say or do to Disney lovers.

The original post was about Disney lovers' intolerance for those who do not share their passion. Well, some Disney lovers, anyway.

That's all I meant - we don't agree with her over-the-top dramatics about it. I have nothing against people who like or dislike Disney, it's the attitude that there's something wrong with you if you don't like Disney that I find appalling.
