Why the hate???

I can be defensive of Disney too. I just usually choose to keep it to myself.

Now when people criticize me because I love WDW, that's when I get really defensive. My cousin, for instance, went to WDW at age 5. She's 17 now. She got freaked out by the talking trash can and it traumatized her.

Wow. Hope the poor kid never watched Sesame Street... ;)

Seems like we've been getting multiple threads about this but let me put it this way: It's true everyone has different tastes and preferences. Why do some of us prefer Macs over Pcs? Why do some of us prefer Coke over Pepsi? We all have our reasons why we have one preference over others. People fear or hate what they don't understand because it's just easier that way. Rather than try to gain a better understanding of simply why or understand your POV or thoughts, it's just easier to slam it in others people faces. This, in turn, can lead to the notion of being ignorant, which has taken a very strong negative connotation these days. Anyway, the bottom line is, don't let other peoples' dislikes brings you down. Their dislikes isn't your problem, it's theirs. Just let it be. They can go to spend their vacation money in Universal or Six Flags for all I care. But to address the haters out there, Spider-Man once said, "I missed the part where that's my problem!"

I know we get threads like this sometimes, but I'll tell you my thoughts and maybe it will shed some light.

People actually CAN have a bad time at WDW...yes, it's true! Usually they're the people that don't plan anything, they show up on the hottest and busiest days and wait in line for 2-3 hours for every attraction and get mad when people with fastpasses walk by thinking "They must be rich!"

Now before you go arguing with those people, WDW is a VERY big place with something for everyone, but not everyone will find what they enjoy, and trying to explain it all to them could be very tiring.

IMO, just let them be.

The Incredibles is geared towards males. Girls like superheroes as well but for the most part, it's a guy thing. Makes sense that your uncle and my dad enjoy the Incredibles.
I think The Incredibles transcends the gender gap more than other super hero movies do. Perhaps because it's a legit great movie in general, not just good within its genre. Even my mom loves it, and she's definitely not a fan of superhero movies outside of that one. There's something very special about that movie that breaks away from just being a superhero movie.

I think you need professional help.
Seriously ?? Can we have a bit of respect ?? I have never seen such rudeness in this board as I've seen lately.. Not just with my thread, but others as well..So what if someone asked the same question last week!! Or posted the same thing the other day! Go with it people, really, cant we all just (and yes I know its so old school ) but can"t we all just get along???How hard is it to be kind to one another?? My god!

I've actually had several of my friends be traumatized by @PUSH. One of my friends likes Disney now, but he said, "When I was five, I was in Tomorrowland..." and before he could even finish I said, "The talking trashcan followed you right?" "Okay, now you're creepy," he said. But the difference between them and my cousin is that they didn't let it traumatize them, and even if they have no desire to go back, they're not critical of my wanting to go.

She got freaked out by the talking trash can and it traumatized her. So now she won't go back. But now she criticizes me because I love it. She says stuff like, "Why would you want to go there?" Or "You could go someplace better like the Grand Canyon ya know." And then she didn't get it when I said I really don't like doing the nature stuff. And then she brags how she's been places that I don't even care to visit.

But she looks down her nose at me anyway. That's the reason we don't speak very much except at family things. And even then I hang around my other cousin.
Well that wasn't very nice of @PUSH. ;)
