Why is there no variety in the park castles?

DL has sleeping beauty castle, WDW has Cindys castle and the other parks around the world seem to be carbon copies of the one in WDW. Why didn't they do the other parks with some variety? They could have done the castle from the end of snow white.

I have often wondered and frankly been kinda mad.:lol:WDI is a VERY creative agency...Why couldn't they make 2 more?

DLP is different though.:wave::wave:

Actually, I believe that there are subtle differences. One of the most recent things they did is paint each castle its own unique color, so while they may look structurally similar, there is some difference between them.

Still, I understand your point. It is odd that each park doesn't have its own truly unique castle.

Tokyo Disneyland wanted things to be as similar to WDW as possible when it opened - cost effective, and popular.

When they designed Paris, they really had to go all out, because there are REAL castles just around the corner - so they couldn't do something that was just stylized like Tokyo or Florida.

Yea it's different but isn't that just an unused Cindarella castle concept

That would be Belle's Castle in Disneyland Paris.

Cindy's and Belle's are much taller than Sleeoing Beauty Castle. But maybe in different parts of the world they have height restrictions and limitations. Or even sight-line limitations in order to not disturb the show from other areas of the park. Just a thought.

Actually, the castle in Paris is indeed Sleeping Beauty's. I assumed it was Belle's due to the setting of the movie; however, when you step inside the castle (which is very different from either WDW or DL, both of which I've visited), you can go upstairs, where there is a series of figures and stained glass windows that tell the story of Sleeping Beauty.

Here's some pics:

One of the scenes (the guards were snoring...neat effect):

It was designed to mimic real castles in Europe which often include the landscape in their design.

By your own admission it's different so what more would you want to see? Let's be honest. You go to a Disney resort and you want to see a castle just like this!

The leafless trees at DLP make it look soooooooo cold and ungreen. It somewhat kills the ability to play the "tropical" story and the world of magic etc. throughout the park. Also, the DLP castle looks far shorter than at the MK. The interior detail however looks very good.

Regardless, what was Eisner thinking putting a park in France. They should have done southern Spain or Portugal. What is done is what is done I suppose. I have absolutely no interest in DLP. Brrrrrrrrrrr.

Huh? You seen Adventureland or Fantasyland???

There are so many reasons from finance to transport to guest access. Paris was the ideal choice for all factors, including land. Southern Spain had the second largest parcel of land available in Europe - less than half what EuroDisney needed. For the record, Tokyo has worse weather per annum than Marne-le-Valle.

This just doesn't make sense to me. I assumed it was Belle's castle because it's in France.

Why does Sleeping Beauty need 2 castles?

Regardless, DLP castle is GORGEOUS!!!! I hope to get to see it someday!

No Im not joking thankyou very much! I thought that there was a model of that castle inside One Mans Dream at DHS. And I thought that that what it said in the caption but no actually im joking to answer your question!!!!

They do have a model of Paris' castle at One Man's Dream, but the caption does not say anything about be a concept for Cindy's. The caption talks about it being the castle at DLP.
