Well, I was wondering why is it so special! Because I mean I literally cry every time I watch a YouTube Video or actually watch the parade. It just makes me happy! I really don't know.

My favorite part has to be the " Spectromen " in the balls. I love them, and it just makes me smile and smile :ROFLOL:

I agree....it is the music. For me, that is the music that I most associate with being at WDW. Not sure why, but it has an effect on me that no other Disney music has.

I think if we could answer that question we'd all be zillionaires. They have the perfect combination of everything you love about WDW in that parade.

I know just what you mean - it's very emotional. The kiss goodnight has the same effect on me. Maybe even more so.

Nice post Luis. Not to jump on the bandwagon, but I also agree that the music is what makes it touching, the horns are my favorite part...I actually copied the Spectromagic soundtrack and the Reflections of Earth soundtrack on to one CD just so I wouldn't have to switch CDs in the car.

Yup, I think it's the music too. For me, it's probably because I've loved the parade since I was 7, and the music brings back memories. I've heard the parade is boring for some other people, so I think it has something to do with being reminded of childhood.

It's not, a bunch of creepy faceless little people dressed up in rennaisance outfits does not touch me.
MSEP on the other hand, now that's touching. I stll get goosebumps when I hear:
"Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, Disneyland/Walt Disney World proudly presents our spectacular festival pageant of nighttime magic and imagination, in thousands of sparkling lights, and electro-synthe-magnetic musical sounds. The Main Street Electrical Parade!"

Of course this is just my opinion.

Sorry but-

Bring back the Main Street Electrical Light parade.

I can still hear the music from it.

I have to somewhat agree here. I do like Spectro for all of the reasons that people have stated, but it will never be as good as "The Main Street Electrical Parade". Perhaps there is a nostalgia factor for me as well. :)

Yep, for me there definately is a nostalgia factor. I can remeber seeing the MSEP in Disneyland when I was a young child and listening to the music on our old record player. I was shocked and thrilled when we were at California Adventure last year and found that the parade was still playing there. It was great.

I love the music from Spectro without a doubt but that's really the only thing that tugs at my heart. Not a big fan of the scary-Spectro-men

I do remember seeing MSEP I think when they had it during the 25th anniversary of WDW. I know my parents liked that one.

:sohappy:Def the music and memories for me growing up as a kid. I have SpectroMagic ( and Wishes) downloaded on my ipod, so if I'm feeling sentimental, I just break it out and listen to it

Maybe it was because it my dads favorite parade? I remember when I was 1, and it was my first time I went to Disney World. The Spectromen scared me to death! I would cry, because they would scare me lol. But yes the music is wonderful.

Now on the Main Street Electrical Parade.. I didn't really like it that much. I just think Spectromagic is better. I saw the MSEP at DLR.

Same here. I personally find Spectro's music annoying, but I love MSEP's. But that's just me, I know lots of people feel the opposite :)
