Why do you love WDW?

I started this thread right before the slew of hurricanes blew into Florida and it kinda fell apart because of all the hurricane threads. Now that those are over, I think it would be an interesting thread for people who never got to answer. There must be hundreds of answers if we are all on these boards all day long.

I am always asked why I love Walt Disney World so much and why do I always go there on vacation when I can go anywhere in the world.

For me, it's the magic. It's the feeling of getting away from everything crazy in the world and escaping from reality for a while.

Why do you love it so much?

Only 9 more days til I'm Home!!! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Different people go to different places for different reasons. A lot of those reasons for me apply to Disney. If I want to clubbing, there is Pleasure Island, if I want great cuisine, well here we are in World Showcase as well as some of the great restaurants at the resorts, You want to lie around and get a tan?? Many great pools and tropical locales here without the fuss of traveling to an Island. Want to run around and go on rides? Got that covered as well. Great entertainment and shows...hhhhhmm we have that too. There isnt much missing here and it is all made so easy, plus as previously mentioned the MAGIC!!!!!!! Belle

Simply Put

For me, simply put, it's the only place I know of where an adult can act like a kid. You can wear a Pooh t-shirt, a hat with Goofy ears coming down and no one looks twice. If I try that around here, I would surely get some stares! Plus there is definitely that magic. The magic you feel when you check into your hotel and the magic you feel each time you enter onto Mainstreet. There's nothing like it!!!

For me, it is more a sense of belonging. I never feel like I belong, like I fit in during day to day life. I feel out of my element. An outsider looking in. But Disney World, that is my place. My home. In Disney World I am the one who belongs. I can let down my guard and really be myself. Someone earlier mentioned being able to act like a kid. I can totally relate to this feeling. Being able to walk around wearing Mickey ears and fit in. I would never do that outside of Disney World but there it is appropriate and acceptable! It's just different from anywhere else on earth. To sum it up in one word, it's magical.

I have to say that it is the magic as well. Also, just the time and effort that Disney can put into the smallest thing. It just makes me feel good inside that a place like WDW exists.

For me, its what someone said earlier. The fact of being completely away from the everyday world.
When I went a couple a days ago on Columbus day weekend, I knew about school and the problems I have there. I knew that its a place I dread going, and a place where I feel the most uncomfortable, but when I was at disney, I forgot all about that. I didnt even remember that it was the school year. I totally lost that pressure, that pressure of being so worried about a test, so worried that I fail this class, or wont turn in this homework. All of it quickly dissolved.
So this Tuesday when I went back, of course I was having withdrawels, but going back to school, I almost cried at the thought of where I was then and where I am now, but Im happy that Ill be going back, hopefully, next month.

I agree with everything you said. When I was reading it, I felt like I had typed it. I know how you feel when you talk about not belonging during your day to day life. That is the reason I love going as much as I do.

yes there is that magical feeling you get when you walk through main street and see the castle, even if its your first time or 100th time, its still just so magical. and yes it is a feeling that i think you really can't put into words, people who don't share our love for wdw will never quite get it. and yes one of the only places you can walk around 24-7 with mickey ears and its actually aceptable. i always say going to disney is really going to a land of make believe, and for a little while your mind is in that mindset. its just to bad walt never got to see just how much people love wdw through the years.

Oh, I don't really know why I love WDW so much. First because of the MAGIC... and that's hard to explain, but I am sure you don't need any explanations about that. There's always something to do, everything is beautiful, organized and clean, and everyone seems to be happy. The magic Kingdom is my favorite place on Earth!!!! Well, my feelings for the MK are the following: It's the only place in the world where I really feel HOME. You know that sensation, like: ahhhhhhhh, I'm home, after a trip or a hard day at work?
That's it. And when it's the last day, I feel sad, I feel like I am being forced to leave home. Am I a freak??? :hammer:

Its a magical feeling when you are there. The workers (CM's) are happy and they make you feel welcome, you are not an inconvience. All the people around you are happy. Children are laughing and having fun. And I want everybady to feel that magical feeling that I get when I am there.

Disney is the place we all love to goto where the world we lives in seems like a villianous fantasyland, and as long as we are with in the gates of disney the world can barely affect us. It's like disney found everyones foutian of youth where we all return to our childhood for a few short hours or days. When you visit Disney it's like the magic and the memories transport us back to a time when we are able to recall visits with family or friends who are sadly are no longer with us,yet while there you can feel them sharing some happy moments with you,it's as if God himself allows them back for a few hours to help share in the memories. Visits to disney are like returning home to a family reunion when you been away awhile, and where the love is always there, the smiles are as abundent as the the flowers, and the memories are the magic that last a life time no matter if your young or young at heart.:)

To me, it isn't really being able to act as a child, as I can do it (and I do it) outside of Disney.

It is simply, because, for an unknown reason, Disney is the only place that provides me with my every needs and hobbies. Disney is the only place that gives me bigger-than-life stories and adventures to live, escapist magical themeing, new amazing technology, thrills in a secured environment, "good clean" fun and a myriad of diverse leisure activities, both relaxing, fun-filled and dynamic. A place where I can live great moments whereas with my family, a girlfriend, or some friends, where we can almost touch the sense of optimism all around for the full time we're there. There are no worries, just good times, from the magnificient pools at night, to a walk at the Boardwalk to grab a simple ice cream or burger, to a fun night out at the movies, to the emotion connected with stirring shows such as Fantasmic or Wishes. It is also a place where you feel the world and its inhabitants are respected and thought of. Mentality is different. Nothing on earth can gives me all that, although I can find parts of it at different places. But it will never have the same power as Disney's offering. That is why it is not a matter of "done it already, why aren't you bored with it?". Why would I be bored with great things? More than a collection of activities, Disney is a "family" and a way of life, a state of mind to me.

Its the fact that, by all laws of reality and logic, that place shouldnt even exist. Its so far removed from anything and anywhere else on Earth that I truly feel like I'm getting away when I'm there. Even if it is a mad dash to see everything I've already seen a thousand times....

I don't know what about it I love so much, but it is just an unbelievable feeling when i get into the park and walk around. Sometimes, I feel a little lightheaded, like I can't believe I'm there. I just love everything about it.

WDW is such a magical, mystical, wonderful place where we can let go of our everyday lives and stresses and let the magic overwhelm us. I know I feel so at ease and excited and calm and fantabulous once I get on the plane heading to WDW. I can let go of the horrors of my job as a child welfare worker and feel free to leave reality behind. . . I can dream a wish and have faith it will come true without being struck down with the terrifying court hearings and horrifying stories I hear day after day after day. . .

WDW is a place where there is REAL magic and pixie dust and ice cream for breakfast and all those nutty things you wished as a child...

WDW is a place where you can go to remember times with family and past trips and dreams come true at WDW. . where you can have faith in people and dreams and make new magical memories with friends of old and new. . . :king:
