As I was going over our plans for our trip in 38 long days from now, I started thinking about what I was most excited about. What is it that brings me back time and time again. Now I know it's the total package but then I got to thinking about what element is it that I long for most?

If there is an element not part of the poll, select other and tell us about it...

For me, I really think it's the Park atmosphere. I just love being in the parks. I don't even have to ride anything so long as I'm in the parks... :D

I picked "Resort Atmosphere" but I probably should have picked "OTHER", too, as the reason is not so much the actual buildings and grounds of the resorts themselves, but, rather, the overall feeling of familiarty and safety while at WDW.

We go back because it's easy! Having done it so many times, there is no question how to make reservatiuons, what to bring, and what to expect.

For almost 30 years now (beginning with DL) I have wondered the same thing. I look forward to going back and miss it as soon as I leave. The moment when I see the castle over the horizon, I get that "feeling" back.

I ride just about everything, except for the "dumbo" type rides. I see every show, wait in every line........ I have favorites and non-favorites, and my family does too. We do something new every trip.

We stay offsite usually, so for me it's easy. It's the atmosphere of the parks that keeps me coming back. And as I watch my 17 year old daughter pack her 10 year old ears in her suitcase to wear at the MK, I cannot imagine a vacation ever meaning more. My youngest son is the only one that hasn't "caught the magic". He kind of puts up with the rest of us. I am going to try again to convert him in two months. My oldest son is planning on doing the Disney College program next year.

This year we get to see the LMA show (missed it last year), EE at the AK, and the updated Pirates. We are doing the Hoop Dee Do Review (Never seen it), and then our usual run of "old favorites".

Life is good.

I can't pick any one thing, really. When people ask me why I'm going back AGAIN ALREADY I usually have to cite a few things:

- Weather is almost always better than here (Midwest), and I love hot weather. Palm trees!! Yay!

- Flight is short for us (2 - 2.5 hours, flights are frequent and rates are competitive) this means that we can go in the morning and get there with the whole day ahead of us, whereas other places (like when we go to Hawaii,) you waste a day traveling there and a day coming home

- As insane as this sounds to a lot of people, I know WDW so well at this point that it's actually relaxing as a vacation to me. I get off the plane, I know exactly where I am, where I'm going, what to expect and what I want to see. I know the hotel isn't going to be crummy. I know if something goes majorly wrong, they're going to help us.

- I honestly do not find the cost all that horrible. People complain all the time about "OMG, Disney World! They take you for every cent you have! Blah blah blah." OK, it's by no means a cheap vacation, but compared to a lot of the other places my husband and I could travel to, it's way less. I like how people can't believe I'm going back there because of the cost but no one bats an eyelash when we go to Hawaii or on a cruise which are both substantially more expensive for us.

- It's Disney World. Duh. :animwink:

I just can't explain it. It is like some sort of force the attracts you.

I guess because every time I think about disney I am in awe about everything that Walter Elias Disney has inspired and ther is no way to replicate the ideas and philosophy of the "Greatest Dreamer of All"

Why do I love thee...let me count the ways!:D

1. I have been going to WDW for 30 years. My B-Day is the same as the MK and EPCOT opening days and I would always spend it in the parks. Nostalgia is a big factor.

2. As a female who travels solo most of the time, a huge draw is the feeling of safety. I know things aren't perfect in the Kingdom, but I feel safe on my own.

3. I can have the comfort of going to a familiar place and still experience something new every time.

4. Where else can I wear my Pooh ears and not get funny looks!:D

EDIT: WhooHooo 30 posts! No longer a newbie??

I choose other because I go back for many reasons. There is just so many some are... that I grew up going to disney, loving rides like dumbo and all the character meals and shows. I have so many great memories at WDW and its great to relive and see where such great memories took place. Also the "magic" at WDW is amazing. As soon as your there it makes you feel so happy and excited. WDW is pretty much a dream come true to me.

Agree 100 %, all the problems that are at home stay at home once we cross over the border, but the best part is, is when you leave it comes home with you, and you really want it to. In picture's and video's, souvie's, refill mugs etc., it never leaves' you, it's like a drug, but this one can't kill you, but it does change your life forever!:D And for what it's worth, I don't mind paying as much as I do. One more thing, I voted for other as well. 2 days and counting till visit number 2 this year, and 75 days till visit number 3. :sohappy: :sohappy::D going nuts waiting :hammer:

can't explain it either

I just don't know why I always go back, feels like home to me. Just gives me a great feeling. I find I'm always thinking of Disneyworld. Weird huh? :animwink:

I picked other because there all of the above apply. We just can't get enough of Disney. It is pure magic. A feeling you can't understand unless you have experienced it too (as many of us on this board can prove) We can't wait to get there, enjoy every second, and miss it when we leave. And start planning the next trip on the way home. We've traveled other places but all fall short. Just a wonderful experience--"There's no place like home."
