Why did we never get the Indiana Jones Adventure?

It can work in either park fine. Then it comes down to who needs it more. DHS in my eyes.

Star Tours would probably work well in TLand, but it works fine in our DHS. Soarin' probably belongs in Condor Flats, but it works just as well in the Land Pavillion. Same with ToT in DCA but works just as well in DHS. So?

There's a difference between working well, and the best placement of a Disney attraction in history.

That's what Indy in Adventureland is.

Well, to be fair, it's not like there were many other places they could stick Indy in Anaheim -- especially in the mid 90s when there was only 1 park. But yes, Indy works perfectly at Disneyland and you'd have to be a complete dolt to complain about its presence (which aside from the attraction sign and fastpass area is hidden in back of trees.) Simply put, it is an amazing attraction in every way and unless you completely despise FUN, its near impossible to say anything remotely negative about it. :)

I'm not saying it won't work well in DHS, but it works better in Adventureland. You know, because Adventureland is a land for adventure and Indiana Jones Adventure is an Adventure ride.

First, thank you for sharing the video. I will change my opinion of how this ride could work in AL. I definetly see it fitting in AL in WDW near the Jungle Cruise. Yes the hidden temple, the jungle and so on would fit perfectly. The real question, does room exist for this ride if we were ever so lucky to get it?

Good call, got to ride last month and it is awesome, awesome, awesome. Blows Dinosaur away. I would not care if they built it at Blizzard beach, one of the mini golf courses or under the castle I would find it and ride :D:D

Edit: ok so I might care where it goes, my point was the ride rocks.

I can see it now. WDW finally gets an Indy attraction- the Universe of Energy starring Indiana Jones. He's the perfect spokesperson after being the only man to survive a nuclear blast by hiding in a refrigerator.

 Ah, Indy and the Crystal Skull. Pristine example of how an Indiana Jones movie can actually suspend your disbeliefs a little too much.

Woah woah woah, hold it right there.

Spaceship Earth? Great Movie Ride? Journey through the Center of the Earth? CINDERELLA CASTLE?!

Seriously, the list goes on and on...

Indy in Adventureland is the best placement of an attraction. Journey, SSE, and the castle are their respective park's icons.

Could be... for me though, I'd probably go with WDW's Haunted Mansion as there are far more photo ops with that one. Indy is a great fit though, but if it weren't for the signage, you could probably walk right past it and never know it was there. (Which is one of the reasons its so great IMO.)

There is an expansion pad behind Pirates/Jungle Cruise.

Yeah. DHS would need to expand into the parking lot.

DAK would have to keep it far enough from the animals I would think. Don't see TOO many of the animals right near Everest or Primeval Whirl or any thrill ride. Too loud.

I guess it comes down to whether or not you think that the fact that Indy is a live-action non-disney film places it more at home at DHS or the fact that the film's main theme is adventure makes it better suited for Adventureland. Either is okay, I would rather have it anywhere in WDW than nowhere.

Personally, if placed alongside the show at DHS, I would think that to be a bit too much too close together. Might as well have an indy "land". (which might be a good idea?)

On the other hand, worrying about the philosophical reasons why not to put Indy in adventureland is somewhat moot in my opinion, given what POTC has become recently. Had that movie actually come first we would be having the same discussion about that franchise/ride today. That, and if you want that ride system in adventureland with an original concept wrapped around it, you will probably be waiting a while.

There's no room for the Indy show AND the ride.

And the Buildings aren't so "easily Moveable" since one is how Studios Cast Members get to work and the other is for Parade Vehicles.
