One might think that being the hard core grammarian that I am, that this would also be a major annoyance. However, I can manage to remain calm when I hear egregious* errors of this nature.

Given the increasingly polarized nature of life in these United States, this is yet another "litmus test" to determine who is "us" and who is "them."

Like those who can't be bothered with learning fluency in their native language, most peripheral Disney-goers do not give a fig about the difference between the Magic Kingdom and Disney World and don't care to learn.

(and I would give people a break who remember when WDW was MK only)

*Look it up--it's a great word to add to your vocabulary

It doesn't bother me. My first trip in the 70's to Disneyworld consisted of...The Magic Kingdom! Thats all there was, so to some people it will always be just the MK and the other parks.

Boy that was a long time ago... :lookaroun
Next thing you'll tell me is that there were only two Disney hotels...

We should be happy for people like that. If everyone properly utilized Fastpass or knew the ins and outs of optimizing a park visit, there would be no advantages, would there?

Besides, if you were to correct someone like that, chances are that they still wouldn't have a clue what you were talking about.

I've ran into a few different things...

1. I told my friend I wanted to go to college at FSU... He was like oh, so you can be closer to Disneyland?... :hammer:

2. My friend owns a house in Florida, but lives in Virginia. She told me she was going to Florida in a week... I called her about a week later and asked her what she was gonna do. Well she said I'm gonna go to the parks.. I said which one are you going to first, Magic Kingdom? She's like- No, Disney World... :hammer:

3. I ran into quite a few people who thing Sea World, Discovery Cove, & Universal are all a part of Disney.

4. When I took my cousin to WDW once, we got to Epcot... She goes "WOOOWWWW LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT GOLFBALL"..& I'm related to her?.. :brick:

If everyone were a Disney expert, you wouldn't be special, would you?

You also wouldn't be able to get into ANY of the parks, because everyone else would be there too. So why not let them live in ignorant bliss of the Disney minutae and be satisfied with the fact that you know something they don't? If you get past their not being an expert on YOUR hobby, you might see that you probably know nothing about THEIR hobby either.

I know it's hard to believe, but there is something out there besides the 40 square miles in Orlando. I'll wait while you sit down and recover from that thought.

It's getting funnier by the day listening to people here insist that everyone do things the way they do them - know the same things, not post about something that was talked about before, stop writing because they feel compelled to read every single thread, what happened to worrying about yourself and how you affect others before you worry about how they affect you?

:lookaroun ...ok... i was just asking a simple question....i was'nt trying to get deep here..lol

Getting it staright

I work in the Disney Store and we sell the tickets to Disney World. What always gets under my skin is when the guest is trying to get into Universal with Disney World tickets. They some how always think that Universal is one of the theme parks in Disney World.

Well, it annoys me because its hard to have a conversation with people. They'll be like "we're going to Disneyworld" and I'll say "which parks?" and they'll say "you know, Disneyworld" and I'll say, "yeah, but which parks in Disneyworld?" and they'll say "just Disneyworld, the one with the castle". UGH.

Well, to be fair, that does pretty much narrow it down, doesn't it? :animwink:

HAHA, but I know exactly how he feels, that what I meant in my reply about there being a meaning for everyone.

What got in to you.

I don't know every once in a while a topic just makes me go, huh?!?
I'm pretty easy going, but really why get wound-up if somebody says
they are going to Disneyland in Florida? It just hit me as silly.
