Well here is the deal... My girlfriend got offered to fly as Tink during the Wishes fireworks show at Magic Kingdom. They told her that because there was much risk, and people were so hard to find that fit the criteria (18 or older, between 4'8" and 4'11" and under 110 lbs) that it pays over $400 per night/ show. When she told me this my jaw dropped. I did not believe her but she insisted that that was what she was told. Does anyone know if this is for real?

I will have her call. We were at the parks yesterday and she saw Tink fly for the first time and thought "that's not hard!". So now she is even more interested.

Does anyone know what the other caracters get paid? I am 6'5 and 230lbs. Who could I play? Goofy? The Beast? I have always wondered.

And yes... My girlfriend is tiny compared to me she is only 4'10" and 84 lbs

I use to know a person who was pooh and the person told me they get payed under 5.50 an hour. And I dont remember the whole thing but the characters can only be out for about 20 min at a time due to the heat. and if they are not out for a certain time they will get payed lower then there hourly wadge. I do not know if this is still true this is going back about 4 years. I also know a person whos a float driver/character and the person told me that the only good pay in Disney is people who are TECHS for example, Lighting tech, fireworks tech, people like that. I was interested in being a character and they talked me out of it. So I would talk to someone in disney before you make up your mind. As far as Tink goes, I hear that you get payed a lot since you are putting your life on the line everytime they do a show. But I also read that in the DL version of Wishes they had a 65 year old women playing Tink, and if you never saw that show Tink flys through the air..

She probably gets paid "hazard pay" on top of her regular salary, thus making Tink one of the more profitable roles to play at WDW.

Hey there,

I do have information about this. For her audition, they will take a look at her from head to toe (regardless if she is hard to see at night). If she passes that, they take her to the back of AK and literally lift her up 200 ft in the air on a crane and see how graceful (or scared) she is. Then they will decide, I believe it was more around a 100 bucks each night, and I actually know who is the tink who flies at the moment (To be kept underwraps though)!

Well apparently YOU do!
If, as I understand, that is the offer made to your SO by WDW entertainment.
Why are you even asking this here? If she was told this at Central Casting by a WDW CM -- why do you feel it necessary to ask if this is "real" on an internet chat board????

100$, Thats all!! Even though Im sure its safer than the bus ride from a resort to a park  theres no way I would do that for 100$. My sis gets about 55$ after taxes for a 8 hour shift standing behind the counter at the Emporium. I know Tink's flight is only a few seconds long but she should get paid more than 100$!

When my Mom and I went on Keys to the Kingdom on December 29th (which was amazing by the way), our tour guide said that right now, there are 2 Tinks. The main Tink is a 2nd grade teacher that just comes over every night (when shes working), works for "about 20 minutes" (basically...not that long) and goes home. Thinking that she gets a full 8 hours salary and a hazard bonus, thats a really nice pay for about three minutes of performing (and also having a full time job). The really great thing is that none of her kids know (of course), so it's really gratifying that your students can come see you and be amazed like that by your "secret identity."
