Which would you choose?

If you had to choose to go to either Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios, which would you pick and why? DS16 REALLY wants to go to Kennedy Space Center, so we're looking at dropping one of the days that we were going to dedicate to one of these parks. I know it really boils down to personal choice but I'd like to hear your thoughts because I might be forgetting about something that would lean us in one direction or the other.

Thanks!

If it is any help to you, we put this same exact question to our 16 year old son just this week.

The Toy Story Midway Mania is a huge draw for the Studios right now. That swung his vote, along with Tower of Terror, RocknRollerCoaster and . . . well that.

My son doesn't want to go to shows, so FOLK and the new Nemo show didn't do it for him. The only real appeal to him of AK was Everest, Kali River Rapids and Dinosaur.

Prob a coin toss either way. Good luck and have fun. Whichever you decide against is probably more fun than the Cape Canaveral trip, but he'll find that out when you get there. :) Or not - either way, its vacation so you're bound to win!

AK wins this one for me. We have no problem making a full day at AK but have not been able to makle that statement for years at the studios. Others have said they just ride Safari, Everest, and Kali and are done over at AK. to them I would say then slooooow down.... the Lion King Show and Nemo shows beat out the tired Indy and Beauty and the Beast shows at the Studios. Plus many people just huryy and rush by the trails and other sights in AK.
As far as the Studios, IMO even with TSM which is fun but not an absolute must every trip, there is still not enough to last ALL day. We get to the Studios around opening and by 3 oclock or so we are ready to leave and then return later for Fantasmic and wait at least an hour. For the many visits we had to AK we alway last from open to close, which granted is usually at 6pm when go but it is still a complete day.

As said it is personal preference but we have more fun and a more full day at AK.

Well, DS16 would probably enjoy Kennedy Space Center more than either one. It probably doesn't help that he's taking Astronomy at the moment. :D

It will all work out in the wash. Toy Story Mania is leaning me towards HS but we'll see.

We had to answer this question recently for our upcoming trip. We are a tad obsessive with the planning, so - each member of the family made a list of everything they would want to do in AK and in DHS. We used a trip planning book, and even included thinks like playgrounds, so our lists were extensive.

We soon realized that the DHS lists were way longer than the AK ones. We do love AK, but for those of us that don't do thrills, it was only Kilimanjaro Safaris and shows. So this time, it is DHS for us.

Good luck and have fun!!!

All things being equal I'd pick AK just because I'm not really a movie person so the whole theming of DHS doesn't appeal to me as much as AK.

However, one thing that hasn't been mentioned is heat and crowds. I missed when you are going, but AK just seems unbearably hot to me when the weather is hot. I don't know why it's that way. There are plenty of plants and indoor attractions, but I always feel like I'm going to die until we get out when it's hot.

Also, crowds at AK are just miserable. I suppose the paths are narrower or something or maybe just because the park is smaller or the hours are shorter, but for some reason we have found ourselves in those "can't stir em with a stick" kinds of crowds there. I've never felt that way at DHS.

I do love Animal Kingdom, but it is the "Park Most Likely To Make Us Say 'Let's Head Back to the Room NOW'"
