I honestly think MMRR could be amazing, especially with the new 2.5D tech they’ve got going in. However, because it’s not actual 3D, there is a good chance guests won’t feel that complete immersion and will know they’re just watching actual screens move around. The beauty of 3D glasses is the immersion (look at FoP for example, you feel like you’re actually there for a quick minute) so WDI is gonna have to execute this new tech perfectly. If it works, this ride could be revolutionary.

I'm actually thrilled that it's not another 3D attraction. While I realize that not everyone has this issue, there are a lot of people who can't see 3D movies/tv. There are also a lot of people who wear glasses who find that it doesn't work as well when they are trying to fit 3D glasses over their actual glasses with corrective lenses. Mind you, I know that things like FoP have been hugely successful and great for the majority, but I'm celebrating that I'm not going to be stuck with another film that looks like good 2D to me.

You’re absolutely right. I didn’t mean to come off as against the 2.5D, I love the idea and can’t wait to see it. I’m just saying there runs a risk where if it’s not given full attention, it might not be as incredible as we hoped for. But I have faith in WDI and have zero doubts that they’ll perfect it and make a truly new, amazing ride experience.

Then there’s the 3D that just hurts peoples eyes like Philharmagic. I love that attraction but it’s hurting my eyes these days.

Ouch! I haven't been in Philharmagic since 2011...mainly b/c I can't see the 3D, but to have it hurt would obviously make that so much worse.
I really hope it gets an overhaul with the technology in Star Tours where it’s five different songs every time as well as a serious update to the 3D. That would make it so much more reexperienceable. I thought I heard a rumor that it was in the cards but I don’t know.

I voted for Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. Because I love Mickey and Minnie! Please give Mickey and Minnie's runaway railway ride a chance to be a good awesome ride for everybody who loves Mickey and Minnie!

I'm curious why you think a roller coaster doesn't belong in Future World?

Because Future World is about exploring future possibilities and technological innovations. Hence why it's called "FUTURE WORLD".

Here's the original lineup:
Spaceship Earth - Communications
Communicore - Future Communities
The Living Seas - Deep Sea Exploration
The Land - Conservation, Agriculture, Food Production
Journey Into Imagination - Math, Art, Science, Literature, and the Performing Arts
World of Motion - Transportation
Universe of Energy - Energy Sources, Fossil Fuels, and Transitioning to Renewables

And the crown jewel of Future World:
Horizons - Tying together every other pavilion into a coherent story.
(yes I do realize that I didn't mention Wonders of Life....but that wasn't in the original lineup. It didn't come about until 1989.

This is essentially going to be dumbing down Future World even more. Which is really quite sad.

Especially when you realize that GotG will essentially be Rock n Roller Coaster, but instead of Aerosmith, it's going to be set to the tune of a bunch of AM Gold one-hit wonders like Blue Swede and Jay & The Americans.

(I had no idea who these guys were. I thought the song was by Roy Orbison.

They ought to just go ahead and call that section of the park "DHS Backwash World".

Ok here's the truth: Original Future World was boring. I know that is a very subjective statement but realize that the most popular rides in the park (Test Track and Soarin') were not apart of the opening of Future World while rides such as Living With The Land and Universe of Energy (when it was open) are pretty much walk ons. Spaceship Earth might've been the only opening day attraction which wasn't boring. On the subject of Horizons, I've heard from multiple people that it regularly was a walk-on attraction in its final days. Whenever an attraction closes, no matter how unpopular it is, Disney fans make a martyr of it. I can't wait for the day that Stitch's Great Escape gets replaced so people can gripe about how much they miss it. Does "edutainment" have a place in EPCOT? Sure. But understand that an entire park dedicated to it would not be successful. Beyond that, Guardians of the Galaxy isn't even open nor do we know the plot of the ride and you've already assumed it will have no elements of EPCOT. I'm skeptical myself but you'd be better off giving it a chance than finding every last thing to complain about.

Disney's only justification is that Star Lord's mother took him to EPCOT Center before he got abducted by Yondu. That's the only tie it has to anything in future world, straight from the horses' mouths at the 2017 D23 Expo.

In fact, it's theorized that the new show building will actually be the Nova Corps headquarters based on the size (11 stories....40 feet taller than Rock N Roller Coaster) and shape it's currently taking.

Here's the construction:

And here's the Nova Corps HQ from GotG:

"But Fett!" I know you're saying.... "We don't know! It's just a basic frame!"

To which I say....it's going to be Nova Corps, because Disney's own concept art puts a Nova Corps starfighter front and center in front of the UoE building.

And the Famously Huge Turds Dance Party's storyline is....
"A group of aliens from Xandar, the birthplace of the Nova Corps, are sent to Epcot as part of a new outreach initiative because Epcot it is viewed as a cultural epicenter."

Right in front of the American Adventure. Famously Huge Turds.

Ok here's the truth: Original Future World was boring. .

Once again, another attitude that helped ruin the parks and contributed to Epcot becoming a dumping ground for Magic Kingdom's backwash.

The original FW themes can be used for new ride experiences, and we've seen this done successfully with Soarin' and both incarnations of Test Track. However, that does not change the fact that GotG simply doesn't fit into Future World, or anywhere at Epcot aside from Imagination.

And especially not the Famously Huge Turd Dance Party in front of American Adventure.

"helped ruin the parks" calm down. If it wasn't for Test Track or Soarin' nobody would go to EPCOT. I barely go there as is and most people who I go to the parks with will tell you that the only reason they go to EPCOT is because they occasionally have the thought of "well I haven't been to EPCOT for a while so I should go there" and not because they actively want to. Say what you want about Frozen Ever After but it actually helped EPCOT substantially and so will the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction. And finally, once again, I don't care if it's in EPCOT, Magic Kingdom or on the top of the Empire State Building. If it's a good roller coaster its a good roller coaster. Feel free to sit out on the fun if you feel otherwise. I'm sure everyone else who wants to ride won't object to less people in line.

You know....the reason the utilidors were built under the Magic Kingdom was to prevent cast members from being in areas they weren't scheduled for. You wouldn't see Buzz Lightyear hanging out at the Jungle Cruise, nor would you see Jack Sparrow signing autographs in front of the Haunted Mansion.

That's the Disney Difference; it's all about keeping that thematic integrity of the parks.
Tron Roller Coaster in Tomorrowland? By all means, go for it.
Ratatouille ride in France? Of course!

So if you want a good roller coaster and don't care where it is or what its themed to.... maybe you should just go to Six Flags instead.

Or how about you just realize that EPCOT is undergoing serious changes and Guardians of the Galaxy might actually make more sense after its upcoming overhaul?

The only thing that will make sense is that Epcot will be turned into Magic Kingdom 2.0 thanks to guests who require 24/7 stimulation.

Sorry I don't like to sit on a moving classro- erm i mean boat and learn about plants when I pay 200$ to go to Disney.

Also, I think you should reconsider your attitude and quit trying to degrade guests who are simply bored of Disney's current offerings. Not all of us can bask in your childhood nostalgia nor adopt your point of view.

I'm going to go ahead and call all of them one attraction. I think its the combination of all of them is what excites me. More opportunities to do more in more places. More room to roam, more places to eat, more real estate to walk in. Yeah. That's my answer....

.....after Star Wars Land, that is.

I agree on the more opportunities to roam in new places. I hope Animal Kingdom gets a good new attraction (NOT a overlay @Dinosaur with Indiana Jones) before 2021.

tron lightcycle power run, because it means tron is back at the park. the last time tron was at a disney park was what got me interested in the movie; the PEOPLEMOVER through the world of tron way back in 1995 when i was 4. got the movie on VHS for my 5th bday and became fascinated with virtual worlds and stuff, as reboot was on tv prior to this and i was into that show.

I have no knowledge of or interest in Star Wars, but if I can get another Pandora level land then I am 100% game. Other than that, everything seems cool but idk if Universal will treat the coaster well. Everything else Potter has been good but I just hope it isn't a nonsensical theme like Hulk.
