Which pavilion would you add to Epcot World Showcase?

It doesnt get torn down, when Norway bowed out back in 02-03 Disney took it over, and turned Akershus into Princessess and what not. So Disney basically assumes all responsibility and just decides to let it go to some extent (mildew-dust riddled maelstrom, no more waterfall outside, etc etc). Norway offered Disney a new film and everything, they didnt want it.

Wow... so instead of freshening up.. they opt'd out... sad really.

I too would much prefer Oz in DAK. :)

But Australia does have recognisable architecture. Just not centuries old. But Canada managed, America managed. These are young countries too (to which I must add: with a long history before Western contact). How about Melbourne's fantastic Victorian architecture? You can go almost 'Main Street'-esque with it.

Although I think that Australia is best served with a pavilion comparable in character to Canada. After all, 'suburbs with some high rises near the beach' does seem to be the most distinguishing feature. So rather a few select buildings, an area that does justice to aboriginal culture, and a large portion with an emphasis on the outback - which is the most profound image of Australia both at home and abroad. Could be awesome!

We all know we love Australia and would love to see it at WS!

Put Australia where the refreshment outpost is and transform the footbridge into a miniature of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. There's a start.

Or the London Eye in England, and an Eiffel Tower ride in France like they have in Vegas.

And here we have the reason why the UK pavilion should be renamed as England as it is difficult to see where the other countries of the UK are represented. So, rename the UK as England and build a new pavilion for Scotland.

The pavilion could include a nice video show detailing how Scots built America and a Soarin' type ride through the Highlands, taking in the Inner & Outer Hebrides and onward to the Shetland Isles before heading down through the oil fields and finishing up at Edinburgh Castle.

Shops would, of course, include a Whisky shop stuffed with specialist single malts and a golf shop (after all, we did invent the game). Buy yourself a kilt or even a mini version for the missus, both versions being modelled by the staff and worn in traditional fashion (calm down ladies).

A steak restaurant would be viable as the Aberdeen Angus is one of our breeds and we export fish worldwide so let's have a fish restaurant too, with counter service prices. Anyone interested?

I think the key in any new addition is make sure no matter what you keep religion out of it. I'm not going along with any countries that won't light up for illumination because you built a big church or prayer tower. (the lone exception of course is whichever country is the one to create the people's first temple of Jovi, which would of course spread the gospel of Jon and Richie. and I be fair I only exclude that by assuming the temple will already light up and have lasers to begin with)

I'd like to see something like Egypt or Greece with a quality attraction based on mythology. I think that is where you can get the sweet spot between entertainment for the masses and a more cultural aspect to fit into the World Showcase. I'm thinking something like the old Race for Atlantis ride in Vegas.

They still have plenty of pavilion space in World Showcase...I think Greece or Egypt would be lots of fun. I think Russia (now that there's no USSR) would be neat too...you could have a Volga boat ride, or something.

I have so many ideas for World Showcase! I don't know why they don't ever add! They should put a gondola (sp?) ride in Italy.. the original plan for a Mt Fuji rollercoaster in Japan now that their Kodak sponsorship has ended..

That's really the thing... they need more attractions (esp rides) in World Showcase more than they need a new pavilion per se (not that both couldn't be added). I'd rather see TDO revisit some past idea or new ones for attractions for pavilions in the WS: Rhine River cruise for Germany, a Matterhorn style Mt, Fugi roller coaster or a bullet train type ride for Japan, a Doctor Who time travelling ride in the UK, etc.

They should focus on putting something in any pavilion that does not currently have a ride or movie/show That means you Germany, Italy, Japan, Morocco and UK. Especially the later three since that side of the lagoon is light on stuff to do.

I would say I'd love to see Russia, but Brazil would make a lot of sense and be easy. It's not that controversial of a country, there's no South American countries right now and there are always TONS of International College Program CMs from Brazil so it would be easy to staff.

Frozen does take place in Scandinavia. Sweden I think.

I might have missed someone saying it, but The Snow Queen was written by Hans Christian Anderson, who is Danish. Of course, Denmark is part of Scandinavia but different from Norway (the only Scandinavian country in Epcot).

I'm not sure if the original story or the movie Frozen expressively takes place in any specific country.

granted I can't speak from experience but I do believe many would say the last country needed is brazil, because it would educate the least amount of people since at Times the tour groups seem to swallow the parks.

although perhaps you are on to something. it would be interesting to see brazil painted in a positive light for once. ( plus Bon Jovi has sold out shows in brazil so clearly the country can't all be that bad)
