Cinderella's Castle is more than just an icon for the Magic Kingdom - it's an icon for WDW as a whole, and even for the company! You just can't top it.

Spaceship Earth comes in a close second, though. It just has such a presence. I love the tree of life but as an icon it kind fo gets lost, in my mind.

well to tell you the truth, I think that the first three icons..cinderella castle, SE and the tree of life are great icons. In fact, I think they are in a tie! I just can't STAND that hat...it makes me so angry! I see it, and I get confused. First of all, what is that supposed to represent? I don't get it! Second of all, why block the gorgeous work and detail put into the Chinese theater? To me, that is a great representation of the golden eral hollywood days, plus it fits in way better pictorally with the rest of that street....that darn hat just stands out too much...in a bad way....and it doesn't even mean anything!

Definitely Spaceship Earth. The castle is a great icon, I just love the way SSE appears on the horizon when approaching.

On a side note, I just got a call from my mom who's at WDW right now riding Splash Mountain. How lucky.

Sorry for the drift, back to your regulary scheduled thread.

Really like the castle...but I went with Spaceship Earth.

MKCP 1986, your post brings up a good point...the Studios park has had too many "icons." For years, they tried to sell the water tower as the icon, even though it's hidden way in the back. When you walk in the park, the first looming structure you see is Crossroads of the World (Mickey standing on globe). The theater used to act as the "castle" of the park, standing at the end of the main thoroughfare from the entrance. Now we have the hat on all the official merchandise. But, of course, the tallest structure in the park and the easiest to see from elsewhere on property is the Tower. That's five different structures that could be considered "park icons," depending on which standard is applied.

mini-rant over...

B) Earffel Tower

C) Chinese Theater at Great Movie Ride

I voted for Spaceship Earth, but Cinderella's castle definatly comes in a VERY close second. Standing underneath Spaceship Earth just AMAZES me everytime I'm there....gives me chills just thinking about it... *sigh* I wish i was there...:(

Come on, the hat is the coolest. Disney does not sell Cinderella's Castle, Spaceship Earth, or Tree of Life , light up hats for a reason. They arent cool (and they dont sell) sothere HA!!!.

I really can't decide between Cinderella's Castle and Spaceship Earth. I love them both and honestly Epcot is my favorite park, So I really love Spaceship Earth.

I voted for the Castle, but the Tree of Life is probably my second favorite. I love walking into the park and then when you get to that one point it's just right there in front of you.

I voted for Cinderella Castle. If icons for all Disney parks were included, I would have picked the castle at Disneyland Paris. Now that I think about it, does Disney Studios Paris and Tokyo Disney Sea even have something that could be considered an icon?

Definitely agree with you about the DLP castle. It's so gorgeous. I've seen pictures of it, and I wish I could see it live and in person :(
