Hey everyone, what is your favorite WDW park icon?

I would have to say that I think the best would be the Animal Kingdom's Tree of Life. I love the detail in it, and seeing it from upclose is just amazing.

I picked Cinderella's Castle but really for me it's a tie between that one and Spaceship Earth. In both cases when I see the icons I'm awed no matter how many times I've been there and it really hits home that I'm at WDW and that brings a big :D to my face.

I GREATLY preferred the Chinese Theatre as the symbol of MGM. The hat is really in the way there -- and it blocks the theatre.

As for the earful tower... if I have to hear how large the hat size is one more time:brick: :hammer:

I would have to say the castle is the best icon. When you first think of Disney, you automatically think big, beautiful Cinderella's castle sitting at the end of Main Street. It just sits there in all its glory eptimizing all that is Disney.

I love all the icons, but I would have to say the Tree of Life is my favorite. I went to AK a few months after it opened and was in awe when I saw the tree of life for the 1st time.

I thought the "Earful" Tower at MGM was really neat when I was a kid, but now its not really that exciting :) -Stephanie

I agree with Tenny317, Cinderella's Castle is pretty much THE icon of WDW.

However, my favorite is the Tree of Life. It's just so awe inspiring to see that huge "tree" in front of you and to walk around it and see all the animal details on it.

I was SOO glad they kept the sorcerer hat at MGM. I mean really, how lame would it have been to have Cinderella's Castle, Spaceship Earth, the Tree of Life, and....a water tower.

I have to say that the Tree of Life is the best. It's so amazing how they made all of those animals in the side, and it houses It's Tought to Be a Bug, which is my favorite 3-D show(never ridden PM).

Aww now, the icon wasn't the water tower - it was the tower just inside the park with Mickey Mouse and a ball, underneath which was . . . a souvenier stand!

I don't like how the sorceror hat appears to block the Great Movie Ride, but I will reserve judgment until I see it myself next month.

My vote is for Cinderella's Castle, with a close second going to Spaceship Earth. Those are the two visual images I associate with Walt Disney World. :)

I agree completely. I was a little confused when I entered MGM to find that giant hat instead of the Chinese Theater. I think it's completely out of place and it looks as if they added something as an afterthought.

What a great question. I had to sit at my computer for 5 minutes thinking about which one was the best. I love ALL the icons, and each one has its own unique greatness to it, hard to compare. But i would have to say it is a tie between spaceship earth at epcot and the cinderella castle.
