Hey guys! Everyone on here has a certain time of the year they go to the World. Some go the same time/month every year like clockwork; others jump around. Its definitely safe to say there are some favorites. So, which month do you think is the absolute best time to go to DisneyWorld? Lets us know which and why.

Heading for the great escape.
May I voted for, but its really a tie with early Oct.

Combination of crowds, weather and seasonal events, with the historical impact of refurb closures not really biting.

This seems like a completely serious comment, and thus worth quoting.:lookaroun

We have always had fantastic luck with November ... light crowds, always had wonderfully pleasant weather and Christmas decorations !!!!!

Another vote for May. Weather is wonderful, crowds are light and special events are abundant.

I voted for April, but for more than one reason, and some of our reasons are unique to us, as in due to where we live and our own sentimental preferences.

We got married in April and honeymooned off property in Kissimmee, and have always gone in April except 2005, when we did a really short stay, only visiting Epcot, and it was in May. And the only reason for that was that my wife wanted to take our annual April trip somewhere else that year, so we went to San Antonio, Texas. It was more of a spur of the moment decision to make a short trip to Florida, and I decided to coincide it with Memorial Day weekend, since I had a paid day off for that Holiday and would not have to take too many extra days off since I had a Monday-Friday job and had Saturday and Sunday off anyway.

Anyway, April is special to us for sentimental reasons as I just said: it's our anniversary month and when we have always gone, except for that one exception. On a more practical note, we live in Central Illinois and the weather can be kind of crazy. The last thing I want is to have a vacation planned out for January, with all the time off approved, money spent, etc, then a day or two before we are to leave, have a massive snowstorm which makes the roads unsafe to travel on. We drive all the way, and we don't want to have to potentially creep along through unsafe road conditions more than half the way down. Or have safe road conditions here, but not know what it's doing through the steep mountains of Tennessee, etc. So January and February are out, and March can be kind of iffy, too. And too much possibility of getting winter sickness, to ruin a trip.

By April, spring has pretty well broke through up here, and the weather down there is usually perfect too, as in sunshine the vast majority of the time, not too hot, not too cold, etc. My wife doesn't do heat very well, so she doesn't really want to go once the extreme Florida heat sets in. So May might be possible, as far as weather goes, but June, July and August are pretty well out, and she's also extremely paranoid of bad weather. Paranoid to the extent that she doesn't even want to go to Florida if the calendar so much as says "Hurricaine Season". I've tried to explain to her that "hurriciane season" doesn't mean that there is going to be a hurricaine every day of the season, and that there is always plenty of advanced warning that it is coming, but you can't reason with paranoia.

We do want to go at least one time over Christmas season, probably in November after all the Christmas stuff is in full swing, but that would probably be a shorter, extra trip, sandwiched in between our annual April trips.

My vote goes for early-mid January right after the Marathon. The down side is the weather, you never can tell what its going to be like but it's generally slow and a great time to visit.

I would give just about anything to spend Christmas at Disney every year for the rest of my life. I dont care about the crowds...just being there is enought for me. :xmas:

To which I say...ditto.

I will not be going back in December. We put off the 2010 trip by a few weeks so my husband could be home for hunting season (which I don't actually "support" but to each his own...besides...he's never actually killed anything...except a few cases of beer!!) and he didn't end up going. Then it was frigid when we were there. Sticking to November from now on!

September, always after Labor Day. Parks are quiet, no lines. Weather hot, being from England, the heat is good! Luckily never had any hurricane problems.

I feel exactly the same way, except I went the opposite direction and voted for October instead of May.

I voted September. Love to see the fall decorations, plus low crowds and nice weather.

I usually go in May because that's when boyfriends med school schedule allows the past 2 years and I think it's wonderful. Most people wait until school is out so the crowds are low, the weather is beautiful. And this year a lot of people are heading down the last week due to free dining so hopefully the middle of may will have even lower crowds!

Time to see WDW

We have been to the World during the months of Jan, Feb. April, Aug., Oct., Nov. and Dec. We prefer, very early Dec. and right after Jan 1 or very early Feb. The crowds are moderate to light during these time frames. However, I do enjoy Holloween decorations and Christmas season at Disney. Beautiful. :sohappy:

I voted for December - specifically, late December after the Christmas entertainment stops being an after-hours upcharge in the MK and becomes part of the entertainment package of a normal operating day (and thus included with your Annual Pass). And I LOVE the nice, long, operating days in late December at the MK with midnight and 1 AM closings and the night parade running twice nightly! With Holiday Wishes, the Castle lighting show, Celebrate the Season Castle show, and of course the Christmas parade, this is HANDS DOWN my favorite time to be in the MK and WDW! The extra crowds don't bother me one bit, because with the longer operating day combined with Fastpass, I can still get on more attractions per day during peak season than I can with the ridiculously early closing time of 8 PM during slow season (when the night parade only runs a scant 2 or 3 nights a week, one time a night)

Another reason I LOVE late December (and winter and general) is the weather is nice and cool (well, as cool as it will likely get in Florida - I prefer my temps between 50 and 70, and winter gives the best chance of this).

At the other parks, I enjoy the longer hours at those as well. I LOVE those nice 8 PM closings at Animal Kingdom and the sun goes down early enough in winter to get a ton of NIGHT RIDES on Everest, which is a rarity at that park during most of the year. The 8 PM close at AK also gives me a nice, 12 hour full day at that park so I don't feel rushed and have time to savor all the self-guided animal trails while still riding all the rides and seeing all the shows. Plus, the park is running the Jingle Jungle Parade instead of the Jammin' Jungle Parade! ;)

At the Studios, in addition to the Osborne Lights, you get the nice, long, operating days, and Fantasmic! for 2 shows a night, 7 nights a week, instead of just 2 nights a week in the slow season.

My "runner-up" months would be March and April. Again, I enjoy the extended hours and the more satisfying visits these give me at the parks. The Christmas decorations, trees, and music loops are gone, but Epcot offers my second favorite WDW season with its Flower and Garden Festival and all the topiaries.

And I enjoy the MK on Easter Sunday, with the special Main Street Easter music loop, and the Easter Bunny makes an appearance in the afternoon parade.

The only negative about March/April is the weather is more likely than winter to be over 80 during the day and thus too hot for my taste, and I may find myself having to constantly drink ice water and pour it down my shirt to keep cool. But this is not nearly as bad as the summer where temps over 90 is the norm, even the nights are humid, sticky, and miserable, and the thunderstorms seem to come nearly every day!
